Kim's maintenance rollercoaster. Wanna ride along? (all are welcome)

Hi Kim,

I hope your Monday is nice and slow after your busy weekend. Glad to hear that the hip is feeling better. It sounds like you will just have to commit to stretching.:thumbsup2 So did you find any cute things for yourself?

Take care,
Beth

What an incredible weekend you had--a great run (time & distance), the Phillies game, and a trip to Kohl's! It sounds like exactly the kind of re-energizing weekend that you deserved & that everyone needs. I know this week is going to rock for you!

Hi Kim
sounds like you had a great weekend :)
definatly time to pack :)

Sounds like you had a great weekend, Kim!:thumbsup2

You'll be in WDW in just a few days now! I bet you are getting so excited!

Enjoy packing!:cool1:

copied from the c25k graduates thread (out of pure laziness ;) )

My running buddy and I just ran on our lunch break. We did the 3.57 mile loop in 38.34! :scared1: It definitely felt fast, and if she wasn't with me, I probably wouldn't have pushed so hard. But I'm proud of us.

A bunch of the runners here are doing a handicap 5k tomorrow and I think we're gonna join in. Basically the slower people start first, then the faster ones, and we all will finish around the same time. It's a good way for us (my running buddy and I) to get more involved with the other runners here and to push ourselves a little more. :thumbsup2

As for the 3.57 distance....one of those "other" runners said the other day that they think it's closer to 4 miles, and maybe my Garmin didn't pick up well at certain parts on the trail. :confused3 Who knows, I'm just glad to be back out there. (oh and no pain today!! :woohoo: )

**************************************

Tonight is soccer practice for DD and soccer clinic for DS. DH and I will divide and conquer. Then we have school board elections and an ice cream social. I will resist the ice cream (I don't love ice cream, only mickey bars  ).

At some point I need to pay some attention to my house. I need a good, full day to myself to just clean up/out. No DH (mr. packrat) and no kids. Maybe I can swing a sick day next week or something. It's really starting to weigh on my mind and my mood that I'm so disorganized at home. :headache:

Hi Kim!!! Sorry I've been away so long! You are really doing well on your runs!!! You speedy thing. Way to go! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a great weekend.

Glad to hear all is well and you are running with no pain.

Yes...I AM packing already for the Minnie trip! I have been for two weeks now! I am doing some iron-on shirts so that takes a bit longer... I'm getting so excited! I hope I get to meet you before the 5K. There will be 6 of us as Susan's DH had decided he wants to try too...Crazy thing! NO training!!! It will be me, Matt, Mom, Dad, Susan and her DH. Hope to see you there! You'll do great!

Hope you great runs this week!
Stacie

You are doing a wonderful job, Kim! Keep up the good work!:cheer2: Let us know if you run the 5K tomorrow. You are gonna do a great job!:goodvibes

Well, I survived the handicap 5k. :goodvibes Gotta tell you a funny here...I called DH to tell him how I did, and his first question was - did you beat the people in wheelchairs? :confused3 And he was totally serious. I said, "No, honey, it's not that kind of handicap. It's like a golf handicap". :rotfl: (I am in no means making fun of handicapped people in wheelchairs. I am totally busting on my husband)

Anyway, my running buddy and I started out first and they staggered the other runners' (there were 12 of us) start times based on previous 5k times. I kept expecting the "others" to catch up to us and pass us, since we are the slowest in the group (some of the guys run sub-20 minute 5k's  ). Anyway, it was a different trail than we usually run, so we didn't know where the finish line was exactly. But no one passed us!! :woohoo: My buddy finished in 30.46 and I finished in 30.49!!!! We definitely pushed it hard today and both of us are stiff now. It'll be a night of a million stretches. But holy cow, people...can you imagine?? That is my fastest 5k ever. I certainly don't plan on doing that at the Minnie 5k because I don't want to be worn down the rest of that day or the long weekend. I want to be able to enjoy the time at Universal, since it's our first time at IoA. :thumbsup2

Since all of the managers are out this week....we're gonna run a long, slow run on Friday. :ssst: Then maybe instead of a long run this weekend, I'll do a speedy 2 or 3 miler.:confused3

Wow! Your time was incredible! I hope you and your friend are proud of yourselves! :woohoo: Now that you know how fast you can go, I bet you'll be trying to best that new PR at future races (if not at the Minnie)! Congratulations!

And I love your Friday running plans! ;)

WOW KIM! Congrats on an amazing pace!!!! You really have become quite the speed demon :). Your Friday running plans sound awesome too...nice to get that LR out of the way! :thumbsup2

Kim!! NICE RACE!! Wow!! Gonna go sub-30 on us here pretty soon :goodvibes:

Glad to see that all is going well in your world!! You guys are gonna LOVE IoA and Universal...Hulk is one of my favorite coasters ever, and Spiderman is not to be missed ;)

Great job with everything...good luck with your runs this week :)

Awsome time Kim!! You are doing great!!

I just got all caught up on your journal...
* cottage cheese=yuck ~the texture is what kills it for me.
*once you're done w/ your house, come do mine!!
*what'd ya get at Kohls? model some for us!!

Minnie is right around the corner....you're gonna kick 30...I know it!!

re

Yeah, that cottage cheese is still sitting in the fridge. Don't think I'm brave enough. :sad2:

No modeling, thank you. All I bought was a plaid pair of shorts and a pair of jean shorts. Nothing exciting.

I'm not really shooting for a sub-30 at the Minnie. This might be my one and only shot at running in Disney, so I'm gonna enjoy it as much as I can. I'll hopefully get to meet some of you crazy DISers and I'll be running with my DBIL and Corinna!! :cool1: But you know I'll be shooting for a sub-30 sometime soon. :thumbsup2

Thank you SO much, all of you for the support and praise. You guys mean the world to me.

Hey Kim...you did sign up for the Minnie right?? (sorry if I missed that) It's 95% full and I don't want you to miss out if you were waiting until you got down there :goodvibes:

Have a good night :)

:worship: Congrat Kim,

That is an amazing time, and congrats on the Personal Record. I think you have the right idea. Enjoy the Minnie, go for land speed record at the next race. Enjoy your run on Friday. When the cats away....:thumbsup2

Take care,
Beth

Thanks Scott! Yes, I registered a couple months ago. :thumbsup2 I didn't get anything in the mail...did you? I think I have an email confirmation or something that I will bring with me on May 2nd when I go to pick up my goodies. Thanks again for thinking of me. I do need reminders!

Beth - thanks so much for always being a wonderful cheerleader.

Yay Kim! What a great time girl!!! That is awesome! You speedy thing. I don't think I'll ever see times like that. Way to go! :thumbsup2

Hopefully this is not you only Disney race, but it will be fun! There is so much energy!!! Look for our clan of 6. You won't be able to miss us. We'll be decked out in our WISH green shirts!

Hope you have a great run on Friday!!!

Kim -

Nah, they don't mail you anything for these races. They post the final instructions on the website and let you figure it out from there :rotfl:

We have to get a chance to say hello after the race!! It would be nice to thank you in person for the support you've given me the last few years...and congratulate you on your own successes!
