Kim's maintenance rollercoaster. Wanna ride along? (all are welcome)

Corinna - I understand. You're just showing me what drinking my sweat looks like. I appreciate your honesty. I think. :scared: :goodvibes

Kim - Ewww- you got me back, I guess. I guess it would save on electrolyte replacement, but still.

Count me among the red-faced runners, too. Maybe it just looks like a nice rosy blush. :bride: :cutie: princess:

Count me in as one those red-in-the-face kinda people! I'd love to run at lunch, but alas, no showers here... and I do get stinky! :goodvibes

Hope you all had a nice weekend and here's to a great week ahead. :drinking1

Hey, can I get one of those :drinking1 too, Kim? ;) It's been a long day here.... :(

Great job on your run the other day!:thumbsup2 You are in the runner's groove!:cool1: Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Yay! We're the red-faced bunch, aren't we? :cutie:

Tracy - You're welcome to as many of these :drinking1 as you need. You're one of the busiest women I know and I'm always in awe of how you keep up with your crazy schedule.

As for me, I've decided to scale it back a bit (taper, if you will ;) ). We ran 30 minutes at lunch today and I plan on running another 30 on Friday, weekend run (not too long, maybe a short/quick "kim"), and 30 minutes on Monday and Wednesday next week. Then that'll be it until the Minnie 5k! :thumbsup2 I'm not gonna try to push it with any long runs at this point. I know I can run the 3.1 and I'll be good. My hip gave me some issues yesterday (from Monday's run, I assume) but was fine today and it good now. :thumbsup2

Today's temp is 72, so it was a hot one. Bright and sunny. I find myself complaining already about running in these temps. Wasn't I just asking for spring a few short weeks ago? :rolleyes1

So I'm now counting down in terms of runs left before the race. I'm now down to 4!! :woohoo:

keep it up Kim :)
not long till your off to the Minnie now :)

The Minnie is so close, Kim!!! I bet you are getting super excited! I know that you will do a wonderful job!!!:goodvibes I'll be cheering you on from Ohio!:cheer2:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks Tracey!! Not long til you're in the World too! :woohoo: Have I already asked you....What are your dates? Maybe our trip will cross dates and we can meet!

I decided to take today off from running. Last night, the top of my right foot started to really hurt. Felt kind of like it needed to be cracked. :confused3 I iced it and took some advil. It's still sore today so I'm gonna just take it easy and I'll head out tomorrow to see how it holds up. WISH me luck! :upsidedow

Not a totally busy weekend, but I'm sure it'll fill up more and more as the days go by. Tonight we're going to the kids' carnival at their school. Tomorrow morning both kids have soccer games and then I'll go for a run. Clean around the house and tomorrow night we're going out with my best friend and her husband (they live in Maine and are home visiting  ). It's also DH's 40th bday tomorrow. Sunday morning I'm doing the March for Babies walk for the March of Dimes. My DRB Janine's daughter was born 10 weeks premature (I'm sure some of you remember that) so DRB put together a team Skyelar for the walk. Btw, Skyelar is a beautiful, happy, healthy 1 year old now and this is more of a "we're so happy" celebration. :thumbsup2 Sunday afternoon DBIL's girlfriend and I are going to get pedicures to get ready for the big trip next week. :woohoo: Then I'm having cake for my side of the family for DSis and DH's birthdays.

You know, now that I look at that, how was I thinking this isn't a busy weekend?

Busy, but fun weekend! Save some cake for me!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR HUNKY HUSBAND!!!! ;)

Just a quick check in. Foot feels 100% better. I plan on running tomorrow. Whatever it was seems to have worked itself out. :thumbsup2

Remember how I mentioned my best friend from Maine? Well, I got a call at work this afternoon that she was admitted to the hospital here for possible gall bladder issues. :headache: I went to see her right after work and they still didn't know anything definite based on the 3 tests she had today. So frustrating!

I'll check back with you guys later. Got to get some sleep. :)

Hey guys. Glad that crazy weekend is coming to an end. :faint: My friend was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, since the surgeons here didn't feel comfortable taking out her gall bladder only 10 weeks after she had a c-section. :sad2: So she's heading home to Maine on Tuesday and is just praying she doesn't have another attack before she can see her doctor up there. (she definitely has gall stones, and will need it taken out) Marie - I know what you mean. Same exact thing happened to me. I had my gall bladder out in May of 1998, and in June I got pregnant with my DD! Fishy, I tell ya.

My DH was a bit sad about his new age. He's a pretty happy guy in general, he just had a little less pep in his step this weekend. Marie - maybe you can send him a good podiatrist for those orthopedic shoes. ;) (just kidding  )

As for me, I went out for a run after cleaning yesterday and before we went out to dinner. I ran the 3.1 mile loop in my neighborhood in 31 minutes. :thumbsup2 Feeling good and no pain in hip/leg/ankle/foot today. :woohoo: I walked in the March for Babies today. I think we only walked about 2 miles roundtrip, but it was a rainy, cold, miserable morning. Didn't seem to phase all of the babies there, just the grownups. :rotfl:

The plan this week is to run Monday and Wednesday about 30 minutes each, weather permitting (I think it might rain pretty hard tomorrow). Then I'll rest up until the 5k on Saturday. :thumbsup2 I can't believe it's this close already!

Have a great week, guys.

I was gonna say, seems like it would be pretty rare that they could coordinate scheduling gallbladder surgery with fertility treatments and embryo implantation.

Sorry your friend has to wait - sounds like a tricky situation, but unfortunately, it's not uncommon for that gallbladder to act up after pregnancy, it seems. I had a fried who had the same thing happen, but no cesarian, so they just took it out.

Kim, you are sounding faster and faster all the time. :rolleyes1 Seriously, though, I'm impressed. Way to go and enjoy your taper! I've got the Monday, Wednesday plan as well, I think. Though not sure what distances I should be doing. Darn this winging it anyhow!

Kim, great time on your last run!! *singing that song again*! LOL ;)

Hey guys. I wasn't able to run today for a couple reasons. Work is totally taking over. I worked right through lunch. But also, it was raining pretty hard out there. If it was just drizzling, I would've gone out for a quick run.

I'm definitely doing it tomorrow. No matter what's going on at work. Gotta get out there. :thumbsup2

OMG, this trip is getting SO close!

So sorry to hear about your friend & her gall bladder. That's got to be a rough time.

I just turned 40, and would like to say I went through the same thing as your DH. I didn't, though. My DOOD, on the other hand, was a bit down for a week last year. (And this year.) I suggest signing him up for a race--that always cheers DOOD up.

WTG with your taper plan, btw. And in case I don't see you beforehand--GOOD LUCK with the Minnie! :cheer2:

Two more days, Kim!!!! I bet you are getting so excited!:yay:

You are gonna do a great job at the Minnie! We'll be cheering you on from Ohio!:cheer2:

Hey Kim. I am so impressed with your time! You are really getting speedy. I would love to at about a 10 min mile. I don't know that I'll ever see that though.

Glad you had a good, but busy weekend. I like to come back to work to rest up for the next weekend. :lmao: I hope you are able to get your run in. I haven't done a darn thing since Friday! I will be WELL rested up...maybe even a little rusty! :goodvibes

You'll do great at the Minnie. See you soon! Only a few more days!!!

Stacie
