Kim's maintenance rollercoaster. Wanna ride along? (all are welcome)

Kim.... wow!! Great 5k!! You are gonna rock at the minnie!!! Can't wait to meet up with you!

well done Kim :)
glad you enjoyed the race AND found it pretty easy :worship:

Kim - it sounds like you had a fantastic race - congratulations! Your time is so good - and that wind sounds like it was so brutal. It really makes a huge difference. Nice work. :thumbsup2 Oh, and I hope you get your medal. Did you get a t-shirt anyhow?

Thanks again so much for your support, you guys.

Wasn't able to run today because of some bad rain...but hopefully tomorrow. :thumbsup2

In other news....Only one month until my trip to Universal trip. :woohoo: I am soooo excited! I still need to call for some dining reservations. The only one we have is one for California Grill. :thumbsup2

BUT - it's time I truly focus on my eating. I can't seem to wrap my mind around the plan I was on before...so I consulted my aunt in PA who works as a nutritionist. Day one went well so far. And I feel great for making it through a whole day without caving. :goodvibes One day at a time! :thumbsup2

ETA: - yes, C, we did get tshirts! Not long sleeved ones like the marathoners, but I'll take what I can get. :)

OK, I'm officially worn out. :faint: I ran the 3.57 mile loop again at lunch, by myself this time (running buddy is out today). I zoned into the music (more on that in a bit) and finished in 39.22. (that's an average of 10.99mpm) That's crazy!!! I felt good breathing wise, and had a bit of a twinge in my left calf, but nothing bad enough to make me stop. :thumbsup2

As for the music...once I turned around at the 1/2 way point, one of The Hives songs came on that I love. It set me at a good, but quicker pace than I'm used to. I was feeling good when it was over, so I figured I'd just listen to it again to keep me at that pace. I ended up listening to it 3 more times!! I didn't want to slow down or speed up, so I guess it made sense at the time. :rotfl:

But yeah, I'm wiped out right now. Gonna eat lunch and hopefully perk up again. :goodvibes

In other news......
My sisters, mom, the kids and I are going out to eat to celebrate my older sister's 1 year of sobriety tonight. :yay: We're all SUPER proud of her!

Kim:

That's an absolutely fabulous run & time. And I love that you hit repeat on one of your fave songs; I do that all the time, but now I think it sounds like a solid running strategy too!

Have a great day today--you deserve your own celebration, although I think your sister's sobriety anniversary is extra special news! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Kim!!! You go girl!!! What an excellent run today! Super proud of you! :thumbsup2 Isn't it amazing how much difference music can make in your training!?!?

That is so great about your sister! That celebration is well-deserved! That is just wonderful! I'm so happy for and and for your family as well! What a great accomplishment!

Enjoy your celebratory evening!
Stacie

wow Kim what a great run :)
i find i jog better when a good upbeat song is playing too:)
Great news for your sister - have a lovely meal with your family :)

Hi Kim,

Congratulations on your great run. I hope you had an incredible dinner. A year of sobriety is a huge accomplishment, and she obviously has a wonderful family to support her.

Get soem rest,
Beth

Great run and great time, Kim!!!:cheer2: Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

That is wonderful news about your sister! I hope you all had a wonderful time at dinner last night!:grouphug:

Have a great day!

Kim, WOW! Good for you on that run!!! You are doing GREAT!!! You will kick some butt next month! :)

Man, iam gonna have to check out these "hives"... LOL

Hey all! Just a quick check in for now. We ran the 3.57 mile out n' back at lunch today in 40.17. :thumbsup2 That was with no music and lots of conversation, so that's really good for us. :goodvibes

Eating is going really well. I have Em's first holy communion this Sunday and we're having lunch at our house afterwards. For the first time in a long time, I'm not looking at that as an excuse to completely pig out. :rolleyes1 I'm liking how I feel right now and am looking forward to dropping a few pounds before the May trip.

Have a wonderful weekend, guys! :upsidedow

Hi Kim-
Way to go on the race-im so proud of you!!!!!

I cant imagine where you got hooked on the hives! ;)which song was it

Today was Em's first holy communion. Little girl, no more. :sad1: We're so proud of her and she really had a great day.

Jen - some crazy lady brought me to a concert and introduced me to The Hives, as well as their hysterical stage crew. :rotfl: I posted the song on the c25k thread, but forget it again. I'll get back to ya!

As for me, I didn't run this weekend. Chose not to, actually. My left leg hurt. Not the calf, per se, but it felt like the bone. Nothing horrible, but enough that a little bouncing around on it at home made me think I shouldn't run on it. I'm giving it a rest til Tuesday and we'll see how it goes. I really think I just need to rest it for a few days and I'll be fine. :thumbsup2

Congrats to Miss Emilie! She looks so grown up!

Gotta love the Hives stage crew--the guy got a workout chasing the microphone :)

and you better be careful with your leg--dont wanna hurt it now!

Yeah, Kim - take care of that leg. I bet you'll feel better by Tuesday. Sometimes the body just needs a little more time to repair and renew - you are wise to listen. ;)

We are at less than a month! Did you see final instructions are up? :cool1:

Your daughter is so lovely in that picture - congratulations to her and to you on her first communion.

Kim, she is so cute!! You must be proud.. that is a very special day! :)
