Hiya Kim!

How is the leg feeling today?? Did you make it out there at lunchtime to run or is more rest in order??

Just checking in on you...are you getting excited for your trip in May yet?

Have a good one :goodvibes:

Hey guys. :goodvibes I didn't end up running y'day. Running buddy and I played hooky and went out to eat. :rolleyes1 Errr, I mean, it was a rest day.

I did go out today by myself. I didn't have a whole lot of gas in the ol' tank, so I went 3 miles. I just couldn't commit to that extra 1/2 mile. But finished the 3 miles in 31.39, so not too bad. My left calf definitely has some issues. I had to talk myself into finishing the last mile. I plan on doing lots of extra stretching and see how I make out.

Scott - YES, I'm getting really excited about May! I'm bummed I won't be able to meet up with you guys at any other point that weekend, but I'll take what I can get! :goodvibes

GREAT PACE Kim!!! :thumbsup2 Just take care of that calf...extra stretches, ice if needed! You must be getting so excited for WDW...I know I am!! :goodvibes From the sound of that pace you ran today I think you're going to have a great 5K race in Disney!!!!

How did I miss this?? Geez, lady - glad I don't live in the SOUTH!!! :rotfl:

It's good to see ya, girlie.

Wow kim, that pace is GREAT!! Good job!! Keep it up girl!

Emilie's communion picture is just beautiful! What a special memory!

Ouch with the left calf. You deserve and it sounds like you need a rest day. Good time with the 3 miles, too! Your Minnie 5K is going to fly by (but I hope the trip is nice & slow).

Hi Kim,

Emilie is so beautiful! Congratulations to your daughter on her first communion. That is a milestone. I hope she felt like a princess.

How's the leg? Did the stretching and ice help? Inquiring minds....

I hope you have a good weekend.
Beth

Hey guys. Sorry so in & out lately. Work has been crazy. How dare they take me away from my DIS time.

Anyway, The leg is still the same. To be honest, I haven't iced it yet. I think tonight I'll try the biofreeze & see what that does. But the stretching is happening. And lots of it. It's so weird that the calf doesn't hurt at all when I'm walking, but take that first running step and it's there. :confused3

I ran 2 miles last night with DH. That man is crazy. He does no exercise most of the time and just jumps in for a little run with me. He'll pay for it this weekend I'm sure, but he did great last night. We ran around a little lake while DS had soccer practice. We completed 2 miles in 22 minutes. :goodvibes And then we wondered why no parents wanted to stand near us to watch the rest of DS's practice. :snooty: We were sweaty, stinky people. :rotfl:

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend! And I promise to catch up with all of your journals over the weekend. :thumbsup2

Hi Kim
love the pic of Emilie, she is so cute!
Hope the leg feels better soon!
Have a great weekend :)

Kim, congrats on a great run with dh! 22:00 is a great time!! wow!
Sending you pixie dust for your calf!!

That's great that you got a run in with your DH.:goodvibes Are his muscles feeling the run yet? ;)

I hope your leg is feeling better soon. :wizard: My chiropractor gave me Biofreeze samples a few years ago....That stuff works great!:thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hey guys! :goodvibes The rain stopped me from running today, but hopefully it'll clear out in time for tomorrow morning and I'll get up early to go out before church. :thumbsup2 We're heading up to Philly for a Phillies baseball game tomorrow afternoon (as long as the rain holds off) so no run time after church.

Yes, DH is quite sore from his little run with me. Serves him right thinking he's 21 still and can just jump in to something because his wifey can do it.

I have an odd question....anyone like cottage cheese? :confused3 From what I hear it's very good for you, but I can't get past the texture. Anyone disguise it or flavor it up with anything? I feel like I'm missing out on something good.

DH and I are going out shopping for some new summer/vacation clothes tonight. I was kind of hoping I'd be all slim and trim again, but my eating didn't cooperate with that plan. :rolleyes1 Either way, need something to wear, so we're heading out tonight with a 30% off our whole purchase coupon at Kohl's. :thumbsup2

Kim, that must be some rain - as I recall, you enjoy a little sprinkle in the cool, damp weather, but everyone has their limits. Why do Sundays get so full? I am not sure when I'm going to squeeze my long run in tomorrow, but we'll be LRing on the same day with any luck!

I do like cottage cheese - I buy the 1% stuff rather than the fat free....for the taste, pretty much. I don't mind the texture, so I'm not sure i can help you there, except to say it can be somewhat different when melted. I like cottage cheese with salsa. Call me a weirdo.:upsidedow

Hi Kim!

Have fun at the Phillies game tomorrow, good luck on your run before going to it and hope you find some great deals tonight while you are out shopping!!

Sounds like a nice and fun weekend!

hahahahaha--please tell him i would never laugh at him for anything :)

So how was the Phillies game? Do you go alot? Because if so, i may be coming over when you have a game--i wanna go to one :)

I cannot believe how quick your trip is coming up--when do you leave

i havent talked to you in forever--come around more often!

Kim, Did you make it up to the Phillies game? How was it? And how was vacation shopping??

That's funny you say that about your dh, b/c when i am trying to talk to my dh about my times / workouts etc, he just says "Oh come on, what do you need $95 sneaks for? When i was in bootcamp i had to run x number of miles in fatigues and combat boots" -
And i am like "uh, honey, no offense, but that was about 16 years ago --- come on out and try that now!" HAAAAAA!

Whew...where did that weekend go? :confused3 It was a crazy busy one!

Friday night - DD's soccer clinic was cancelled, so we went out to eat. ;)

Saturday - HORRIBLE rain/thunder/lightening storms most of the day (yeah, Corinna - I gotta draw the line somewhere  ). Got stuff done around the house and my mom took DD to the movies to see "Horton Hears a Who" as a late part of her bday gift. DS and I ventured out to the grocery store and then made a nice dinner.

Sunday - we all slept kind of late and decided we wouldn't rush to make it to church. I went out for a run while the rest of the house lounged around. I wanted it to be a longer run than normal - and it worked out well. I went 4.33 miles in 49.17. :thumbsup2 Felt good the whole run (no leg pain), but I was feeling more and more discomfort as the day went on (hip, upper thigh area). So I did stretches in my seat at the Phillies game and lots last night. Feeling much better today. :goodvibes The game was good. The kids aren't quite old enough to really care too much, so it was a lot of "when can we go to the playground?" and "I want a snack". After the game, we went to Kohl's and had a good ol' time. I just love that store.

All in all, a busy, but productive weekend. I'm feeling good mentally about the run I had and I feel like I might actually be back in this running thing now. :woohoo:

The trip is REALLY getting close! We leave two weeks from Thursday. Time to start packing, right? :confused3

Jen - we usually go to one or two games a season. Jay's office has season tickets, so when they're up for grabs, we snag them. :thumbsup2 Sorry I haven't been 'round much. You know how crazy my life is. :upsidedow

Stacy - Aren't those men funny? They just can't accept how time goes by. But we love them anyway.

Scott - thanks, as always, for stopping by.

Corinna - thanks for the cottage cheese tips. I bought a fruit combo thing and I'll give it a shot. :scared:

The plan for this week is to run Tues/Thurs and maybe Fri. I also want to get back to some other training at home. Definitely abs and arms and possibly the ballet conditioning again. WISH me luck!
