Kelly&Adrian 09/22/10- SBP/The Attic/HDDR/UK - Nominated for Best Dressed Attendants!

We got our marriage license in the mail today!! YAHOO!! I also got my cruise documents which is great...I can't believe it's happening so fast - I'm loving it!

Marriage License
The marriage license by mail process is so super easy...they originally sent me the form which I faxed back to them. They misspelled one part of it, and I called, he fixed it while I was on the phone with him and emailed it back to me...then I took it to a Commissionaire (kind of like a notary) and got it signed, and then back to Brevard in the mail with my $93 fee....3 weeks after starting the process I have it in hand! And this, all the way in CANADA!

What a relief though, as I did not want to waste precious park time on going to a courthouse...I am also not doing a rehearsal for that reason. It may seem lame to some, but for some of my guests it may be their only chance to enjoy Disney - I want to be able to enjoy as much of it as I can with them.

My Dress
I also got my dress fitted the other day - it's beautiful and needs essentially no alterations - he just needs to sew on the belt , and add a bustle. I am so stoked! It fits great but I am getting a bit worried with wearing something soooo structured and pouffy if it's really hot (which obviously it will be!) Oh well, it's only 14 hours of my life, and it LOOKS great!

Invites
I should have my at-home invites ready soon...the stationary store I worked with originally was able to create exactly what I wanted, essentially sticky labels with my invite printed on them which I can stick onto postcards when I get down there and send out. They are pretty adorable.

3 weeks from today I'll be finishing my packing and getting ready for the 4 AM wake up for our flights!!! WOOT!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

For the packing list I suggest going against your impulses and packing LESS than you think you should. I wore the same few shirts and shorts because they were so comfortable and light and just did laundry 3 times (and once it was only 1 load) in 3 weeks and I brought home soo much stuff that I hadn't worn. Bring stuff you can combine into multiple outfits or wear for multiple occasions like the fancy dinner at WDW and formal night on DCL that you can change up with different accessories. I swore I wasn't going to buy too much but I was all so cute I ended up with a bunch of new shirts a new dress and some other things and could barely get everything home. Pack light, you can supplement there or just change accessories to make the outfits different.

I agree!! :worship:

I've been on 3 DCL cruises and my first cruise taught me that I over packed!! :scared1: I was usually in a smiw suit with a cover up, or comfy shorts and shirt during the days and then at night for dinner I dressed up. I did bring a lot of clean clothes home that I didn't even touch!

Thanks for this advice...I am a colossal over-packer...and now that I have an owners locker for all my toiletries (thanks to the great peeps on the DVC boards for recommending this service) I feel like I may over-pack clothes just cause there is room in the suitcase!!

On vacation, I always wear the same few pairs of shorts and tanks - basically anything comfy that I can eat unlimited amounts in lol....I need to read this again the day I pack to remind myself how much it makes sense!!

Thanks Ladies! I appreciate the advice :)

I'm so bookmarking the part where you talked about the marriage license lol, we'll be there soon and I'm SO nervous about it. When you come back to N.S do you just send a copy off to Vital Statistics? I have nightmares I'll screw this up and we won't really be married lol. :headache:

I got my signed at the commissionaires office at Maritime Centre (I work in the building). As far as I know the officiant sends it off after the wedding and it gets processed from there...it was really super easy! I'll let you know after the wedding if Rev. Jack takes it for us...

I swore I posted on here the other day, but I have been a little out of sorts lately, so I guess I didn't lol I hope that everything is going well for you as you near the end of your planning! September is here! Good luck with everything!

Wow - I can't believe I'm 2 weeks away from our trip!! That is exactly one payday away!! WOOT

That begin said today is my last pay before the wedding where I have extra $$ to pick up the last odds and ends!

I am so freaking excited!! People keep asking me if I'm nervous...which I truly am not...the only thing I am a bit nervous about is that they won't let me take my wedding dress on the plane...but if they try to pull that, I'm sure once I dissolve in to a panic attack/tears they would change their minds LOL

I just can't believe this part of the journey is almost over!! Wow - that's all I can say...

You're flying Westjet right? One of the reasons we're flying them is because they were super fantastic when I asked about their wedding dress policy! Hopefully the people that are actually working ON the plane are as super!

(the other reason is because DF is seriously scared of flying now and refuses to take a commuter plane out of here...which every other airline flies! He actually wanted to drive. I told him if we drove to Florida we'd end up not speaking to each other by the time we got there and not getting married!)

LOL - I've driven before and it just feels like such a waste of 3 days!!

I called WestJet - they said "You can bring it on, but can't hang it - it has to go in the overhead bin...if there is room." I'm hoping I can just get on the plane during pre-boarding to get it tucked away before everyone gets on the plane!

I carried my (rather large) dress on Air Canada. Just go up to the counter and explain you have a wedding dress and would like to pre-board if possible.... That's what I did and they had no issues, they even told me to close the overhead so that no one else can use it.

Awesome - thanks so much for the tip - I was hoping this tactic would work, glad it did for you!

I love your colors and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I love your plans for your "Somethings"~!

I got my at-home reception invites today - they turned out awesome!! They finally agreed to do what I wanted, with a bit of gentle prodding. In case I didn't explain this previously, I want to buy postcards, and stick these invites on the back of them to send out from Florida (we do have to put them in envelopes as there was no way to fit this on one side of a postcard) - they are made to fit exactly....so these are printed on sticky back paper, ready to peel and stick when we get there, and will be sent in Teal or Orange envelopes...

They look terrific! What a great idea!

I'm so excited for you to go...and come back so we can read about it! :rotfl2:
