***The Official May 2025 Thread!***

Hi everyone. Just booked a 5/9-5/16 trip for my dd and I. Last minute as I was supposed to be traveling to Spain with my dh, but he just can't take the time now. So just mom and daughter (25). Haven't been in 11 years, so it should be interesting. We are doing a split stay at BWV and AKV (3 nights BMW studio, 3 nights Jambo studio, 1 night Kidani studio). Had original reservation for just a room at AKL, but was hoping to cobble together a DVC stay, and I was able to, so I'm very excited (and saved about $800)! Here's a quick synopsis of our plan:

5/9 arrive midday, head to WS, leisurely going through the different countries and sampling some of the F&G Festival booth food and drinks.
5/10 RD MK for headliners, leave around noon for resort bar crawl (Poly & WL) Hoping to get into Trader Sam's
5/11 RD USF/IOA
5/12 RD EP then taking a long midday break. Early dinner at Topolino's Terrace, return for EEH.
5/13 RD AK until we're finished. Dinner at Jiko.
5/14 RD MK long break during the day, returning for dinner at Skipper's Canteen, fireworks and EEH.
5/15 RD HS hoping for a decent midday break, returning around 6 for dinner at HBD lounge and maybe a couple of rides. Drinks at Oga's after park close.
5/16 depart

Going to look back and read previous posts to get an idea of what everyone else is doing :)

We overlap on 5/13 and 5/14. We are also at Jambo in a rented studio. I am looking forward to Jiko. It'll be our first time at AKL and at Jiko!

ADRs for the rest of the trip all booked up! Space 220 Lounge was really the only annoying one, I could only manage it for 2 people on our final Epcot day instead of 3, but I put an alert out for 3. Was shocked that Ohana dinner was wide open at 60+2. Here’s what our trip is looking like now:

5/25 - arrive noon-ish, free mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens, pool time at BWI, dinner at Rosa Mexicano. Possibly popping into Epcot for lunch or Guardians SP, still not sure.
5/26 - Epcot, dinner at Shiki-Sai and EEH
5/27 - HS, Sci-Fi Fantasmic Package for lunch, Savi’s that evening, Oga’s after park close for cool pics
5/28 - Resort swap to Poly! Packing up then breakfast at Cake Bake Shop before Typhoon Lagoon. HEA After Party that night then MK EEH
5/29 - MK, CRT Dinner
5/30 - My birthday!! AK we are doing Caring for Giants in the morning, and dinner that night at Ohana with a local friend who is my birthday twin. Hoping to hit up Trader Sam’s afterwards.
5/31 - Resort day. Kona Cafe breakfast and then Oasis patio all day. Probably having dinner at Wailulu.
6/1 - Nothing booked at all, this is a “winging it” day. Not even sure which park tbh, but I got park passes for MK just in case.
6/2 - Space 220 Lounge for dinner, Epcot EEH
6/3 - Our friend has an earlier flight than us so we’ll have a last hurrah at MK probably.

for LLs...we are mostly going to rely on SPs. I really only plan on MP for MK on 5/29 and HS.

About how long does dinner at Sebastian's take?
We have an ADR on our arrival day but I'm trying to see if we have enough time to swim, eat dinner, then head to Disney Springs. I'm guilty of overplanning and trying to pack too much in lol.
Well I guess it depends on how fast you eat….I think the food is delivered faster than at O’Hanas and definitely quicker than if you’re ordering off a regular menu with multiple choices. The food is served family style. We only spent about an hour. Just 3 of us.

I didn't know this!
Since we're DVC members, we usually have a split stay. Due to availability, this trip has me switching resorts four times. The day before my last ADR day, my waitlist came through but not in time for the two reservations to be merged. I called Disney dining to ask if they could help me make the rest of my dining reservations or if I'd need to wait for the last 3 nights. The CM said she could do an override and helped make the rest of my reservations. She said they'd do the override on any split stay, as long as they were consecutive nights.

I only wish I knew this on my first eligible day.

Wow...I wonder if this is just for DVC stays? That would have been really useful.

I know! I would have been able to get a Space 220 lounge reservation.

I specifically asked the CM if she was able to help me because it was a DVC reservation and I was going to be merged into the same reservation number. She said I could have done it for my entire trip as long as each reservation was consecutive. Nothing about it being DVC or not. I did have to manually add the reservations once she made them for me.

I did call the Disney DInig number, not the main number.

Tell me about it, we got kinda hosed for that ourselves and I could only get a reservation for 2 instead of the 3 we need for our last full day on the Poly part of the stay. I have an alert out because I’m worried we won’t be able to check in with 3 people when we have 2 down. If I had been able to merge the reservations and book everything on Wednesday we probably would have been fine.

Thanks! I was hoping it was a quicker meal since it was a set menu.

DD and I keep going over park plans and we are not going to RD Rise, Guardians and FOP the days we RD those parks. We will have LLSP for those rides earlier in the week so I probably don't even buy LLSP again. We've been watching wait times and see these rides go down to 30 minutes at times so will just do standby if we want to ride again.

Instead we will do our usual of going left when everyone goes right. AK we will ride EE over and over until the line builds up. DHS we will go over to ToT and RnRC. Epcot we will use our throwaway FP, book for DHS once tapped in, ride everything else with a low wait, actually use our Remy LLMP and have breakfast at Les Halles.

Has anyone heard whether there will be “AP VIP Days discounts” this year? They have had them last few years between May-June. During this time AP holders get extra discounts in shops and for table service dining.

Nothing yet. Previously they announced them around this time of year though so if they plan on doing it again for 2025 it would probably be in the next couple of weeks that we hear anything. It was really nice getting 20% off at ‘Ohana and CRT.

That’s what I thought I think last year it was announced the end of April or beg of May.

That would be great!!! Fingers crossed...

Just announced. V.i.Passholder days 5/14-7/31 no specifics yet but discounts, magnet, exclusive experiences and passholder lounge are mentioned. Can't believe we're actually going to be there this year! Hopefully dining is 20% again especially since this part of our trip includes our adult sons.

Well Disney has announced the details of the VI Passholder Days and it’s pretty disappointing 🙁. They are offering 2 “waves” of dining discounts 40% off of a few restaurants during each period May 14-June 31 and July 1-31. Offer is only good Monday -Thursday. The 20% shopping discount is only for DisneyStore.com

I was hoping for the great discounts they have had the last few years including 20% off just about all table service restaurants and a 30% off shopping in the parks/resorts. we have no desire to even go to the few restaurants they are including this year.
