A spoiled Disneylander’s report of our 1st trip to WDW as DVC members (2nd trip to WDW ever)

Love your detailed trip report and insights. Sounds like overall you had some great magic at WDW and added to your perspective as a (like us) more west coast/DLR family.

Sorry you didn't like AKV. Both of our stays have been magical but it's also likely helped by the fact that both times where in a GV (once at Kidani and once at Jambo). Although the GV's also are in need of a remodel they tend to have those stronger "bones" at the start which allow them to age with a bit more grace up to the end....

We also loved our stay at BWV in 2024 and sadly I can't bring myself to cheat on Riviera and I'm going to stick with that as our EPCOT/HS area resort for the future but I'll likely be making some switches to BWV at the 7 month mark for years to come if I can.

Like others have said, we hope you love WL. It's our favorite spot at WDW.

We had no issue with our stroller (though in fairness it is pretty small) - not sure how it would work with a double!

Some doubles will get stuck going down the boat ramp at BWV to the Friendship boats. I can't tell you how wide the one my DD was pushing but I can tell you they had to get the kids out and lift it to clear the ramps on our way to Epcot. She was pretty embarrassed and walked back that day. Actually going on the boat wasn't a problem. This was the one the kids sat side by side in. My DIL who now has 2 under 3 bought the front/back one.

I have a side by side and tandem. Sadly my 4 year barely fits in the tandem one which is my favorite. I really want to stay at BWV next year but I just worry navigating around looking for the elevators to get around. Good to know about the boat ramps!

Only one set of 3 side by side guest elevators on the BWV side right by the lobby close to the coffee shop! Long corridors but they are manageable. There are multiple side exits to the pools and Community hall area. And if you decide to actually walk to Hollywood Studios you can walk all the way through the halls to the closest point (by the tennis courts) to access that walk way. Just remember to take the elevator down to ground if pushing a stroller.

If it's summer and hot take the boat but in the winter I often do that walk. The boat makes 2 stops before the park at Yacht/Beach and Swan/Dolphin so if I'm in a room far from the lobby down by the tennis courts, I can beat the boat, if I'm not tired or footsore. For people using ECV's the walkway is also accessible.
