So I know shoes are covered ad nauseum on this board but I was in Stride Rite to try Keen's on the other day and noticed they have something called Striderite Made2Play that are sandals similar to Keen. I didn't try them on at the time because I knew my dh was not in the mood for it and wasn't sure my younger dd was either. Has anyone had any experience with those? The Keen's were a bit...heavy/chunky for my taste and I was wondering if these would be a good alternative. My biggest concern is that they won't try in the Fountains. We will be going in August so rainstorms will also be an issue. Ty in advance!

Stride Rite has one brand that is a little cheaper than their typical shoes and that might be it. We have bought that lower end tennis shoe and have not been happy. Two pairs have torn up and we had to return them. I will look on the shoe tomorrow (DS is in the room sleeping now) and see if that is it.

Were they keens sandals or sandals made to look like keens and called "made to play" by Stride Rite? Big difference. Keens are a better shoe than I could not find the "style" on DS stride rites we were unhappy with. It does say Stride Rite but nothing else. It is the style they tend to do character styles in.

I'd have her get sized in the Keen style you want and then go online and buy them for less. We have never paid more than $25 for Keen Newports for the kids. Totally worth it for the quality.
