Just the two of us- WDW May 09 countdown on! **UPDATE Trying to change plans AGAIN!**

I am also on the market for a new digital camera for the trip and just for in general. I have a Kodak whatever it is 8.0 MP...but I HATE it. I usually have it set on 7.1 MP for the smaller picture size and that pictures always look so grainy. I used to have an HP Photosmart and it was my favorite camera...but unfortunately last year it had a drowning incident in a Sex on the Beach :lmao: As far as I know, they don't sell those anymore. Anyone have any good recommendations on a good point and shoot that isn't ridiculously expensive? Like under $200-250.

Hm. Maybe the settings are just funky on your camera. Try keeping it at the max settings and just resize them by hand and don't let the camera do the work. I bet it's compressing it in size and quality. Also just transfer the photos via copy/paste, don't use a software to copy them, they might be doing the same thing

Hi Kara! Happy belated Christmas! Sorry I am just now catching up. DW and I have both had pneumonia and I've been taking it easy for a few days.

Sounds like your plans are moving right along. Congrats on the 10-day decision and I think you are doing a great job paying a little here and there as you go. (That's really smart - we should do that also!)

Anyway, now I'm looking forward to making our ADRs, which looks like it will be in Feb.

Alan

Hey Alan! Hope you guys are feeling better and had a great holiday! I think I get to make ADRs starting Feb. 9th or around then...only about a month or so to go!

I put it back to 8.0MP last week before Christmas and after uploading the pictures last night they still look the same. I will post some later once I get home. Just grainy and not a nice clear shot. What do you mean by copy/paste? I have to upload them onto my laptop, and when I do that my computer automatically loads them. Oh well. I will have to see if I can find my old one I like.

Hey! I hope you had a great birthday and christmas. I saw you posted on the May board about my switch to AKL. We are just so excited. The only way to afford it is by taking off the DP for now and adding it back the week before we go. Without the deal, the package in a standard room at AKL with 8 day tickets for 2 adults with PH and the DP is $3444. With the deal it's $2444. We'll never get to do this again. We have to take advantage of the discount.

That's great!! I am definitely jealous. It really is such a good deal. I am pacifying myself with CSR since they are rehabbing all the rooms ;)

Birthday? lol my birthday isn't until October! I sure don't want to turn 26 just yet! I read your response on your PTR about Christmas and I have a small hunch our kids love Thomas ;) I don't even want to buy him any toys for his birthday in April!

HaHa I thought i missed your bday b/c Alan told you happy belated Christmas and i read bday instead. That shows you how tired I am. I'm reading things that aren't there. Tyson has an ear infection and my mom is in the hospital and might be having surgery tomorrow. My MIL hates me today b/c I didn't bring Tyson over. LOL It's been a rough day. Sorry I read that wrong :upsidedow

Yeah I think they both love Thomas. It's Tyson's second love. His heart belongs to the wiggles though. He's obsessed with them.

I don't mind the Wiggles...its the Doodle Bops that I hate!

Its okay  I hope Tyson feels better soon and I will keep your mom (and MIL :lmao: ) in my thoughts. Hope everything goes well!

I am sitting at home right now watching a Disney Behind the Scenes show on the Travel channel lol. What a New Years Eve!

Oh gosh, I can't stand the doodle bops. Tyson loves them but i avoid Disney during that time. LOL

We're in the bed watching old mickey cartoons. The one on right now is the one where mickey cleans minnie's yard and a little tornado comes up and messes with him and wrecks the whole yard. Then it turns out its a baby tornado and the momma tornado comes to its rescue. Minnie gets so mad. LOL I love it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We're going to Disney THIS year!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year, Kara & Rylan!!

Happy New Year everyone!

Sadly, this means I start school in a little over a week :sad2: I am not looking forward to it. Oh well...it only means that as soon as classes are over we will be leaving for Disney the next day!!

I paid another $70 on my balance today, so that brings my total paid to $340. I have $510 left to go to meet my goal. I am hopefully paying another $70-$100 next week!

I found a set of luggage on Disneyshopping on sale for $48 for a 3 piece set. I need new luggage...but my mom also offered to let me use her luggage when we go, so I may just skip buying new stuff (even though its oh so tempting!). I do need to get Rylan a carryon bag to put all of his activities in it and some snacks. I have to take my laptop on the plane...so that will be my personal item I believe, plus my purse. I am NOT checking that!

Started my weight loss journey yesterday. We all started Biggest Loser at work. Sad...because I now weigh 5 lbs more than what I thought I did. 25 lbs to lose until May!

Wonderful.

Just found out that my car has a defective manifold gasket on it. Apparently the antifreeze they use for the factory cooling system settles in it and then can cause the engine to seize and causes damage to the engine. Best part?? The last day to file a claim was 10/08. So now I have to call the dealership Monday and see if they can inspect it and see if it needs replaced. Luckily I purchased a 3 year extended warranty when I bought it (its an 03) but I have a $100 deductible and they cover the rest of the cost. I don't know if they will waive it since its a defective part due to GMs fault. GM never issued a recall and never publicized the defective part! Hopefully it will be taken care of, because if not I will be HIGHLY peeved.

Oh no, I'm so sorry. Believe me I know what you're going through. My Kia had some engine trouble back in Sept. I was without it for two weeks. It ended up being a factory warrantied part that was messed up. Thank goodness. We have the ten year 100,000 mile warranty on our Kia so we didn't pay anything. That's great that you are paying for some of the trip each week. We really should do that too.

Yay!! My dad's Christmas present to me is buying one of my plane tickets!!!

Alright, after talking to my dad a little bit more, I believe he is going with Continental (BOOOOO). Which is more expensive and has layovers as well and times I HATE on the way home. However, he has a Continental Chase credit card so that means all my checked bag fees are waived!! So ehh.

Right now I believe I should be leaving IND at 10:30am and arriving around 2:30pm, with a layover in Cleveland (I truly feel like driving to Cleveland and flying from there). We will be leaving MCO at 11am and getting back home at like 4pm. We have a LONG layover in Cleveland then. I am saddened by the departure times since I wanted to still have that last day to do whatever.

I feel like I cannot complain though- he is paying $200 of the airfare meaning, if we go with Continental, I only have to pay $240 which is a really good deal. I am saving $160. Plus he gets miles earned on the trip as well.

I still want to convince him to do NWA since I have miles through them (hehehe) because their round trip is $318, plus checked bag fees...probably bringing the total to around $418 depending on how many things I check. Not sure if its worth it, BUT they have direct flights and I like their times better. Auughh!!

Either way, looks like I get to take advantage of the resort check in when leaving Orlando. That is going to help out a lot since its going to be a nightmare handling all that stuff on my own (his carseat is enough to drive me crazy).

That's awesome that he's helping pay for it. I hope it all works out and you get to use the airline you want to. You said something about being alone to handle all the stuff. Did your sister back out? I must have missed something. I thought she was still going. I hope she does go!!

I think Continental is owned by NWA. You might want to check and see! If so, your Dad might still get points for an NWA flight if he uses his Continental credit card. Just a thought!!

I hope she does too! As of right now I am not counting on her, but I still don't know for sure if she is going or not.

Awesome! I will have to do me some research! Thanks for the info.
