Just Saved over $400 using Disney gift cards purchased at Target!

One more question.. You know the Target gift cards you get when you buy certain items (typically 5.00). Can you use those "freebie" Target cards on Disney cards? Wonder if you can use those on the 20% off days as well? If anyone has used these "gift cards" in the past on Disney Gift cards please share. I have like 50.00 worth of the Target gift cards.

Thanks!

Yes I have done this. I usually buy one small item with the gift cards.

Is anyone else worried that their local Target won't have enough cards in stock to fulfill your order? I have a plan worked out and will purchase the $75 required merchandise on the Friday and will make the 2 hr trip down from Canada to my closest US Target but I will be very disappointed if they don't have the roughly 100 gift cards in stock that my friend and I would need.

One last question, if I sign up for the red card, free shipping is always included? So my $75 online purchase will ship for free to a US address?

Thanks!

Has anyone ever been told there is a limit on how many cards they can buy at once? Last time I bought about $1000, the cashier told me there was a limit although she couldn't remember how much it was and said the scanner would stop and not allow anymore when it hit the max allowed. This was the first time I heard of this. She was surprised I was able to purchase all $1000 without hitting the Max. I'm thinking she just didn't know what she was talking about.

So the way I understand this is it will be good on entertainment cards (Disney cards) but I can not combined the pharmacy reward??? will the redcard discount still apply for a total of 25% off?? Can anyone clear this up? Tia

This is my understanding as well. No stacking of the pharmacy awards :( But Red Card discount should still apply :D

I'm thinking this as well :rotfl:

It seems to vary by location and cash register. Last year I used the $10 free gift card with $50 purchase multiple times at the electronics check out. But he had to break them up into a few transactions. I bought ~$1000 of Disney cards. This year's method seems like less hassle, of course assuming they still consider other gift cards as entertainment! ps just got our first snowfall of the season at an elevation of 562 ft in central CT. :santa::yay: After spending a few years in Florida, we missed the beauty of falling snow.

You have to make the purchase on the 29th to get the coupon which is then valid Dec 1-7. I am thinking online is the way to go on the 29th, especially if you are in Canada ;)

That's what I'm planning on doing as well. I called CBSA this morning to ask if bringing gift cards across the border would be subject to duty and I was told there would be no add'l taxes or duties and there are no time restrictions.....trying to cover all my bases so there are no surprises.

Now I'm a little worried. But I can think of at least 5 Target stores that I can go to if one happens to not have enough. I know we're not all that lucky though. So good luck to everyone when the time comes! I'm making my sister sign up for a Red Card so she can do the 20%+5%. Haha. She is coming with me to WDW in 2016 anyway so I think it's only fair. Lol!

It's great that you have 5 Targets stores that you can go to. I only have 1 that is 2 hours away, and then another one that is another hour away from that one. But if you need to go to the 5 stores to get what you need, you'll need to have 5 of the coupons.

I too wish everyone well in their pursuit!!

Yep, I was going to mention the same thing - you'd need to have a 20% off coupon for each store you had to visit since they are only good for one usage. I have three Targets in my city, however I won't have three different 20% off coupons to use more than likely. My Target stays pretty well stocked, but with this info "out there", I'm sure they'll be depleted faster than usual.

Do yall use the Target Red Card debit card or do you just have a large credit with them?

I never had a red card before, got one with a temporary limit of $500.00 and maxed it out that day buying gift cards. :) waited a couple days went in and paid cash to clear the amount owed so I could buy more and ran into major problems.

I asked the CS rep if I could pay $1400.00 to pay off the $475.00 plus have extra credit to make some major purchases. She said sure, since it is cash it would be easy. Manager came and counted the cash and off I went.
Was denied at the register.
Another manager came and said oh it still takes 72 hours for your cash to be available. ugh.
waited three days called the card and verified everything was good and the lady said yes but I will only be allowed to by wahat my limit is daily. so $500.00 per day. ugh. fine.
day one, $500.00. wait a day to be safe, then went back and denied at the register.
called the card and they give me some lame excuse about waiting on credit bereau to verify I am who I say I am.. I was floored. I told them I verified who I was when I signed up for the card using my drivers license, etc. and that they basically stole $500.00 from me and they need to return it immediately. So check is in the mail for that but this whole $500.00 limit is a joke.

cliffs. new card, $500.00 limit, how does redcard debit card work?

I am using a travel agent for my WDW and DCL trip. We will have over $10,000 in fees to Disney so buying cards at reduced rate is definitely a savings. 5% is $500 and 20% is $2000 respectively. The problem is the highest dollar amount gift card Target has is $50. I do not feel comfortable having my TA call in all those cards up to 200 cards. I called Disney and they said I had to go through my travel agent to make payment. Do any of you have any experience with this?:firefight

Your TA owns the reservation, not you. That's why you cannot make any changes to it yourself. Everything has to go through her - including payments .
