Just Saved over $400 using Disney gift cards purchased at Target!

We are going for Thanksgiving. I just applied for the Red card online and was immediately approved for $2,000 and allowed to shop right away. I ordered $500 worth of cards and the 5% discount was applied. The order and my new Red card will arrive in 7 days. Thanks for the top.:thumbsup2

I'll echo everyone else... where did you read this? I just checked the forums on Totally Target and the Slickdeals Target forum, and I don't read it there... :confused3

Both the dates AND the ability to get more than one at a time so I don't have to hit up every computer at my work would be... pixiedust:

I hope this rumor is true, but I'm not getting excited 'til I know more.

I googled 'Target 20% off storewide' and did find lots of sites indicating Target will be handing the coupons out on Black Friday. It sounds like you'll get it once you check out and I think one site mentioned it will start on Thursday at 8pm.

My dilemma is I'm in Canada but only 2 hrs away from a US Target so I could potentially go down to see if I can get my hands on one or two if none of my friends are going down but I'm more concerned with the store running out of stock on the cards since we are flying out of Syracuse on the 7th, which is the last day of the promo.

Do you think it's 20% off one item or everything at check-out? Hmmm.....

I believe it's 20% off your entire purchase, regardless of how many items are in that purchase. Of course, there are some exclusions on the offer which is listed on the coupon.

Hopefully, they will still stick to the "Disney-cards-are-entertainment-cards-and-not-gift-cards" policy on this. It would be SOOOO much easier to buy $2000 worth of cards in one transaction and get these savings than to do the buy-one-at-a-time like last years promo!!!

If these 20% off works on disney gift cards that would be great!
Could I stack my red card 5% and a 5% pharmacy coupon too?

That would make a $100 worth of cards $72.20 right??
:scratchin

WOOT! I'm excited! I just received 2 5% off coupons from Target just for signing up for pharmacy awards. That's right... 2! One to use online and one to use in stores. Was about to go and use the store one today but I am definitely going to wait now :D Doesn't expire until 12/15 so I'm gonna stack everything for 30% off! WOOT! Lol. Saving on Disney makes me too excited... oh well! Lol!

Sorry I didn't get back here to answer more quickly but yes I am referring to the Black Friday coupon give away. Does Target restrict the amount you can buy or are you only limited by your personal bank amount on your debit card?
Which would be better this deal:
Red card + pharm + 20% BFRIDAY coupon OR
Red card + pharm and the $10 card when you spend 50$
If your planning on buying $2500.00 worth ?

I would think the savings would be the same but with the BF coupon it's all done in one transaction. With the $10 off $50, it's one transaction at a time and you are limited to printing 2 coupons/computer which makes it really difficult for you to print the number of coupons you would need to complete your order.

Just received my first pharmacy reward yesterday and was surprised to see one for online and one for instore. Bought (3) disney cards on line and was having problem using the "online" rewards number. Called customer service while still waiting to submit the order. She spent over 10 min. attempting to make it work and then told me to submit the order and call back after 30 min she gave me a reference # and told me to given that # to the customer service agent and they would manually apply the 5%. To my surprise when I called back, the agent not only gave me the 5% but without even asking, added another 5% for my "trouble". Never expected that, was only looking for the 5%. Awesome customer service from Target.

Please tell me if I'm doing this correctly. I need to buy $2500 in GC to pay off my trip.
$2500-20% from BF coupon=$2000
$2000-5% pharmacy =$1900
$1900-5% red card = $1805.
Total cost for $2500 in Disney GC = $1805

You are correct Mama Steph!

What I want to know is if they sell the Disney "entertainment" cards at the Super Target near Disney World. We are arriving on that Saturday and I will be going out of the Disney bubble on the 1st, anyway. I could get the cards for our trip near the beginning of the trip. I would just want to really know they have that there and that they do ring up as entertainment cards there.

OMG now that's a savings!!!! Just need to know if there's a store limit or if it's just a red card limit or your own bank card limit??? Anyone know?

Interesting about the 20% off coupon and I really hope it works on the entertainment cards!! ::yes:: I'm going to remain optimistic but I'm afraid they will find a way to exclude them just like the 10% off movers coupon doesn't work with them. Fingers crossed!! :goodvibes

I called today to have a new red card sent to me since I lost mine (somewhere in the house). I asked that question and was told that there isn't a limit since it comes from your checking acct ( I have the debit) but they may put a freeze on a purchase that is very large and does not follow your spending pattern. I asked if I could avoid that by calling ahead of time and was told that was a good idea. However, ymmv.

Can you really get the discount on gift cards? I thought gift cards were exempt??
You can with the Red Card and the Pharmacy rewards coupon [see every single Target thread on this board]. According to Target's classification system, "gift cards" are Target cards and prepaid Visa & AmEx cards. All the other cards they sell for other vendors (including Disney) are classified as "entertainment cards" and the discounts work on them. This is why the DIS is so Target obsessed!

Occasionally there have been instances where some Target coupons/discounts don't work on the Disney cards, so it remains to be seen what will happen with this Black Friday coupon. So it's going to be a wait & see thing.
