Just off the Magic! Wonderful time!!

Can't wait to hear more about your MAGICAL cruise.. We leave on March 17. Do you remember if Jamesy was one of the club hosts?

I'm pretty sure Jamsey is on the Wonder and Jo is on the Magic. But they could have switched it up. I adore both of them so you can't go wrong. (We're also on the Magic March 17!)

So on the 4 night there was another show the 2nd night like the one they do on the 7 night? I don't want to give spoilers but you draw?

No. Just the primary one. If you had AP two nights the second was Pirate. I think they only do the drawing one on the 7 night because otherwise some would miss it.

Our dining was ACCL with the second night of the twosome being Pirate Night. We did Palo that night though so we could experience each of the rotational menus.

We also did Palo brunch - a first for my parents - which was divine of course! Our server there (Rasheit or something similar) produced Strawberry Soup for us after overhearing me sigh and say "Oh yeah. They took it off." AND he had them do my gluten free flatbread 1/2 spicy sausage and 1/2 grape and Gorgonzola. (That was not bad. I had never done it as I am not really into grapes, but I enjoyed it.) They did the chicken Parmesan gluten free for me too! No special dessert (I found enough on the table anyway) but I got the soup so I was happy.

We had Rashest last month for our brunch, after 13 cruises and more Palo visits than I can count, he is my favorite server there ever!
Sadly, he won't be onboard for our next cruises in April/May, he said he starts vacation in March.

Glad you had a great cruise, can't wait to here more!

He was wonderful! Thanks for the spelling of his name! :)

I would say if you get Ricardo you will be well-served. We were able to observe him first-hand and he is a bundle of energy!

LOL, I think you spelled it correct and I didn't!!!!

I am so happy to hear that you loved the Magic just as much as the Fantasy and that you had a wonderful vacation. The Wonder for next year sounds like a great cruise choice.

I agree with you about AP on the classics in their refurbished state. The old system in there (which was built before large flat screens were an option and therefore used some other technology) just had a very outdated feel to it. But they did very well with the refurbishment in that restaurant! And on the Wonder you should be able to even spot Moana (I guess you liked that film considering your choice of avatar...).

Can you share a little more about the gluten free offerings? Our 20th DCL cruise is in three weeks, but it will be our first since two of my kids were diagnosed with Celiac Disease last Fall.

My kids are hoping for GF pizza, onion rings and mozzarella cheese sticks. Also, do you happen to know if they use Udi's buns? My kids' don't like Udi's at all.

Thanks for any insight you can share!!

I was able to get gf pizza on deck - pretty sure it was Udi's crust. I got chicken fingers and fries - I never saw even regular onion rings or cheese sticks, so that wasn't even on my radar. At breakfast I was able to get gf Mickey waffles in the sit-down restaurant and pancakes the last morning. They also had gf cake donuts that were yummy!

I found that I could ask and they would do it if they could.

Great, thank you!!

Great, thank you!!

Realized I forgot to answer about the buns. I honestly have no clue as I never had a hamburger or hot dog on board. CC day we ate at Serenity so I had steak, Key West day we were off the ship, and the sea day we had Palo brunch. Sorry!

I keep hearing about GF donuts; where these out somewhere or did you have to ask? Were they "plain" donuts?

They were cake with cinnamon and sugar on them. They were brought to me in the MDR, and I asked in Cabanas.

They pretty much don't have the special gf stuff just sitting out, but it was never a big deal to ask.

Did you ask at the time when you were there in the restaurants? Or did you ask ahead of time?

For the donuts when I was there. I didn't ask in the MDR - when they brought pastries around and I said I was gluten free he automatically brought them. Mickey waffles ahead of time.

Jamezy made a post on one of the social media sites and said he was on the Magic (or would be in May when we cruise) as of a couple of weeks ago, not sure if he is on the Magic currently or not. I think in April he has a break?

ETA: Just checked my screenshot where he mentioned that, he will be on the Magic April-July.

I'm so glad to hear this! I have GF kids and they will be thrilled. Did you get shawarma and did they have any GF pitas or naan for that?
