Just off the Magic! Wonderful time!!

I'm so glad to hear this! I have GF kids and they will be thrilled. Did you get shawarma and did they have any GF pitas or naan for that?

I didn't even go over there - I'm not into the shaved meat off a big slab thing because it grosses me out to see it just spinning there. My parents and I also don't really eat between meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner is fine (yes, even on a cruise ship) -and sometimes depending on the size of the previous meal not even all three, so I didn't explore the on-deck options beyond the pizza.

I'm glad that you had a wonderful trip! My family will be on the Magic on March 17. Can you please tell me what movies were playing in the theater? Thank you!

Not sure if you covered this but how is the adult pool compared to the dream class. We are planning another friends cruise in February and are thinking about doing the classics instead of the dream class this time.

I know Moana, Rogue One, and Finding Dory. I will check the rest when I get home from work today.

I liked it. The bar is not swim-up and the hot tubs are the traditional round ones rather than the one at the window. But it felt calmer.

I will say that while the area itself is not as easily a walk-through, Deck 10 around it did not appear to be designated 18+ - and that was used to get to the sports courts. That kind of surprised me as I had not really seen that mentioned before as an issue with the Classics. Maybe because I didn't see any kids stop and stay? I did see a crew member card a couple of girls who looked borderline for 18 next to the pool - done very low key and not embarrasssing them (except one didn't have her card).

I'm also on the March 17 sailing and someone from my cruise meet group on another social media platform called DCL and got the movies that will be playing on our sailing:
Beauty & the Beast
Star Wars The Force Awakens
Rogue One A Star Wars Movie
Zootopia
Moana
Captain America Civil War
Finding Dory
BFG
Pete's Dragon
Queen Of Katwe
Dr. Strange

I have navigators to post, I need to scan and upload this week.

Oh yeah - I am not a fan of the single page Navigators. I really missed the old version. Some things were much harder to locate because they were tiny and on the side.

What is embarkation like in Miami onto the Magic? What deck do you enter? Is the process similar to Port Canaveral? We're doing the eastern transatlantic in May 2018 out of Miami.

You will go up an escalator to get to the walkway to the gangway. You enter on Deck 4 - they still do the announcement thing. And your boarding group is still tied to your selected PAT.

Thanks so much! We love the Magic and are looking forward to being back on it! Glad you had a great experience.

The Magic does have Shawarma but I did not care for it. No one makes it as well as our local Greek place IMO.

And...Tangled is wonderful. I want to back on the Magic just to see that again. The lantern scene actually brought tears to my eyes.

Yes, we all loved Tangled. We enjoyed all the production shows. My parents went to the ventriloquist and then met me at Palo as I don't do ventriloquists (or magicians, etc.).

What information do they leave out with the new one-page Navigators?

I never understood why anyone would want to go to movies during a cruise, or hang out at the pool and watch movies there. Well on our last cruise our port excursion got cancelled in the Grand Caymans, so we spent the morning at the pool watching movies and then saw Moana in the afternoon. I must say it was one of the very best days I have ever had on a cruise. I probably wouldn't have seen Moana otherwise and I absolutely LOVED it!! Relaxing at the pool with a drink was so was nice, especially since it wasn't crowded. We won't cruise again until March 2018 and I'm already hoping Disney will have a new movie coming out while we're on the ship.

I mean, the grid is still there. But compared to the larger ones, it's often just the name - no explanation of what it is like on the old, larger version. The drink of the day is hidden in tiny font on the side. I totally missed the stuff I know is on there about Castaway - like not taking shells off. We are experienced DCL cruisers so we knew, but someone new would have to really be looking to find it. It just feels cheap and chintzy now.

It just feels cheap and chintzy now.

This is basically what I noted on our comment card back in October. Given the premium we pay to cruise with Disney it seemed like such a silly thing for them to do to try to save a few bucks. It made the whole thing more difficult to read. I did find myself using the app a whole lot more, which I imagine was DCL's goal. But I much prefer reading the printed Navigator to scrolling through my phone. I'm old (just ask my 18 year old son!) I guess. I still have two printed newspapers delivered to our house every day even though I can easily read them both online. It's just how my brain works. I miss the old navigators and I was really hoping that Disney would get enough complaints and bring them back. (We sailed during their "trying out" period with the one page ones.) Guess not.

Other than that, glad you enjoyed the Magic. Our last two cruises have been on the her and we think she's great ship.
