Yes, I am "giddy" about it. We were at All Star Movies from December 6th-11th, no KTTW cards given out.
We expected some glitches with the Magic Bands, but they worked like a charm for both park admission and meals. We didn't charge purchases with them, but for everything else they worked exactly as promised. The worst thing I got from the bands was a tan line from wearing it.
The one time they didn't work (at the Rainforest Cafe), it turned out to be a faulty scanner that couldn't connect to the wifi (it was scotch taped together), and in that case they just checked manually and we were good to go.
We were there during Pop Warner and the cheerleaders were much in evidence,as were some BTGs. Only the BTGs were obnoxious I'm sorry to say because I like to think the best of people, but anyway. To the crowds-it was waaaay more crowded than I've ever seen the second week of December, but still for the most part the standby lines were not too long. The longest we waited was 30 minutes for Maelstrom (not sure why we waited for that other than an insane desire to ride everything). Most rides averaged 10-20 minute waits and weren't even as long as that once we got into the line.
Our FP+ times were all honored without a glitch, we changed one or two things on the fly and that also worked perfectly. The Haunted Mansion was down during our FP+ time, but we came back a couple of hours later and were let on the ride with no problem.
We really did have a magical time!
