Just got a Spring Break minivan for half price

Car and Driver has a discount code available to all readers (i.e. the general public) for Enterprise. It is XVC1006 and the pin is CAR.

I spent 2 hours last night diligently going thru every onsite rental company and every code available. Every other company and code gave me a minivan for over $1,100 for 8 days. This public code & pin gave me a minivan for $537.xx for the same time period. I just checked and it is still available and I re-confirmed this is a public code for general use.

(Yes, I know I am very late getting this done but we have had 2 hospitalizations, a new baby, 2 birthdays, Christmas, and outpatient orthopedic work in our immediate family in the 6 weeks. I've been snowed under.)

Thanks Claudia! I was just able to book a spring break car as well for $320, which is not a great price, but one I can swallow.

Can you ease my anxiety by telling me how you verified the Car and Driver code is good for public consuption? I don't want to be surprised at the rental counter.

I'm going to keep trying to find a better rate up until we leave, but I feel SO relieved knowing I have this reservation. Was starting to get really worried as the rates just went higher and higher and higher.

Feel free to use corporate code 1660221168 with Thrifty which includes free additional driver. The code is from the property management company that owns the building I work in and NO ID is required. The total for your 8 days is $487.58. Thrifty is onsite in the terminal as well.
