We just booked HHI for our Spring Break. Any suggestions on what to request? I was thinking "close to pool" but I know you all will have more experience with this. Help!!

We like being in the lodge. Elevator to take our bags up and parking beneath, plus Big Murgies Den with the pool table and wireless access is in the lodge. Plus, in the afternoon there is lemonade and fresh cookies. We just run downstairs for a snack.
We once had a two bdrm in building 31. That was great also! Have fun!

No building is a far walk from the pool area at the resort. As the previous post, we like the lodge for the covered parking and elevator, but we love building 29,30 for the quiet-they are at the end of the resort near the entrance to shelter cove. We have been able to sit on the porch and watch dolphins and the kayakers with our morning coffee. We have tried to avoid the buildings that surround the main pool at the resort because it can get loud around that area. You will love the resort and the beach is beautiful and huge.

What size villa have you reserved? If you have a studio or 1BR, you will most likely be in the Live Oak Lodge. The resort is mostly 2BRs.

IMHO, there are no "bad" places to be; as already stated, the resort is fairly small, so you're never far away from anything.

You either have a pool view, a marsh view, or an interior view (most of which also have a view of the harbor/marina). They are all beautiful and have their strong and not-so-strong points.

If you are in a 2BR, I would place more emphasis on whether you want to be in a first floor or second floor villa. There are about 6-8 steps to even get to the first floor. (Due to building codes everything must be elevated because of possible flooding.) The first floor is obviously more easily accessible, especially if you tend to bring a lot of "stuff" or if stairs are a challenge to anyone in your party. However, be aware that soundproofing is not the greatest at the resort (one of the very few downfalls of the resort, IMHO) and on the first floor, you often hear footsteps, etc. from the villa above.

Have a wonderful time and after you've spent some time there, you will understand why many of us say there are no bad locations at DHHIR!

If you have little ones that are quick on their feet, go with lower level.

We had complaints from the people under us due to the pitter patter of feet.

No matter how hard you try to keep them still, it is close to impossible.

We learned our lesson....lower level for us.

Otherwise, you cannot go wrong anywhere at HHI. My kids prefer HHI over WDW.

We just had villa 2612.
Right next to pool, with balcony overlooking pool, short walk to Merchantile and mug refill. And steps from the parking lot.
We loved the location
