Well we landed a couple of hours ago and are winding down and trying to focus on getting back into routine!! It was hot and humid with sprinkles, but no big rain storms. We stayed at BWV and Royal Pacific (5 days Disney, 2 days Universal). Husband was sick for first two days (caught what DS had prior to trip!!) and couldn't taste anything, so our dinner plans went right out the window! Did son's haircut at Barber shop, ate at Mama Melrose, 1900 Park Faire, Beaches & Cream, Wolfgang Puck....didn't find any great eating this trip, and the prices are so outrageous with the exchange! Crowds were very light. I'll post more later on the other boards, but if you have any specific questions, let me know! Bye!

Welcome home - can't wait for more details.

Welcome home!:D Sorry to hear DH wasn't well...we went through the same thing with my DH ending up in bed with a high fever.....and that was 7 years ago during our first ever trip to Orlando! Sounds like despite the setback you all enjoyed yourselves anyway!:D

Welcome back Jo-Anne! :)

I'd love to hear about your stay at Royal Pacific! :)

....sorry your DH wasn't feeling too well

That is too bad about your DH ... I know from past experience how things are when a spouse gets sick. Noticed you ate at Wolfgang's ... was it not that great?

How did you find the Royal Pacific ... we'll be staying there next month and interested on how things are over there.

The Royal Pacific was lovely. Make sure you look up in the lobby to notice the detailed architecture. I had a Roots Canada T shirt on when I checked in and one of the bellhops named Rene came up and asked if I was Canadian and he was also from Toronto! Everyone was very nice. We had the $99 entertainment rate and received an upgrade to a King Suite with a pullout couch for the children. It was very nice having our own room...at least for one night! The first night we noticed a high pitched squeal coming from the bathroom area, but thought it would go away. Well at 4:00 my son woke up crying because he was hearing "fireworks in my ears"! Of course then in just penetrated my ears and I couldn't get back to sleep. We called Engineering in the mornining and of course when they arrived the noise stopped. We called back when it returned, and they couldn't figure out what the noise was, so they let us keep our original room to keep all our stuff in, but gave us a room down the hall to sleep in our second/last night. The pool was lovely and the kids water play area really kept the kids' attention. The boat ran to the CityWalk area every 15 minutes or so. Its a short walk to US or IOA from the boat stop. We took the shuttle bus to Portofino Bay one night to eat at Trattoria Del Porto (sp?) and had a lovely Italian buffet. They had a good kids area where a clown kept kids entertained so we could have a more leisurely dinner!
Foz - Wolfgangs did disappoint us this year, but I think if you stay away from the Pasta dishes, you'll be ok. The pastas, in our minds, were nothing too special. I think their strong points are their meat dishes. We both wished we had gone back to our favourites of Rosemary Chicken or the Meatloaf.

Welcome back Jo-Anne! Sorry to hear that your dh wasn't well the first couple of days. In spite of that and the sprinkles, I hope you had a wonderful trip.

I'd like to check out the Universal hotels sometime, sounds like you had a good experience at the Royal Pacific in spite of being awakened at 4am. The high pitched squeal you heard from the bathroom reminds me of a night we spent at a lovely old manor near Boston. We were startled awake, in the very early hours of the morning, by a high pitched noise from the water in the pipes of the shower in the next suite that backed onto our room. I thought the occupant would never end his/her shower!! How nice of the RP to give you another room, just for sleeping!

Was it very pricey ... Wolfgang's was one of our considerations for dining when we visit Downtown Disney. Have you ever tried Emerils?

That's great that you received an upgrade to your room ... too bad about the noise though. Looking forward to staying there

:p

I think the pasta dishes were around $15 and most entrees were in the $14-22 range. We've gone 3 times, so we really do enjoy the atmosphere and usually the food....give it a try! We didn't try Emerils this time, even though we passed right by it at City Walk. The menu didn't really appeal to me (I'm not that big on really spicy food).
