First of all, we had a FANTASTIC time!! This was supposed to be our last trip for a long time, but toward the end of our stay, we were all talking about coming back soon, and discussing where we wanted to stay.

While we were there I thought of all of you guys, and it made me appreciate WDW even more, because I know how much all of you would like to be there now. So, I tried to enjoy it for all of us :grouphug:

OK, some thoughts while I was there:

GET TO THE PARKS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!!!!!! We are NOT morning people AT ALL, but we forced ourselves (it was SO HARD getting out of bed!) and it made all the difference in the world. I found the parks crowded and it was the first week of Dec. But when I went in the morning, they were like a dream.

If you are a fan of The Lands at Epcot, get there at 10:45 and start your way around. The crowds will be really low, and you will have a peaceful time strolling around the Lands. My favorite thing to do (I went to Epcot almost every day!) was get the the Lands when they opened, walk right to France and get a pastry and a Latte, and sit outside just soaking up the atmosphere.

If you have small children, YOU CANNOT MISS The Candy Lady in Japan!!!! There will be a schedule showing the times she will be there. Try and get your child to stand up front, and you will be amazed! This was the highlight of my DD's (age 11) trip.

Also, if you have small children DO NOT MISS CRUSH!!!! He is in the Living Seas building. Try to get your child to sit on the floor up front. They will be completely blown away!

For all you MVMCP folks, if you go to Adventureland and Frontierland as soon as you get there, it will be practiaclly empty (compared to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland). I would recommend getting a fast pass to Space Mountain, or Pooh, and then head on over there (Frontierland). Watch the parade, then, about 10:00, go on over to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

We have been to MVMCP 4 times now and every single time, we have gotten a fantastic spot for the parade 15 minutes before it began, right infront of Splash Mountain. You will either see the parade begin or end there and it is really interesting to see how they do it.

For MGM and the Osborne Lights. If you are not going to Fantasmic, go to the lights whle Fantasmic is going on. When Fantasmic lets out, EVERYONE walks over to the lights and it is extrmemely crowded.

Get a fast pass to Soarin the moment you get to Epcot! There is never a time when the wait is less than 50 minutes. Except maybe half an hour before the park closes. The ride is AMAZING!!!!!

If it rains.....
When we were there it rained two days. One of the days we went to SeaWorld (I HIGHLY recommend it!!!!!!) and the park was empty. The other day, we went to MK. It started out pretty crowded. I was feeling pretty low about the rain at first, but like SeaWorld, when it started to rain, MK practically emptied out. Then it was awesome! We just walked onto everything!!!!! So, don't be discouraged if it rains. Put on a poncho, and have a fantastic time!

Another little thing.....we had luch at LTT while it was cold and rainy out, and it was perfect. The restaurant was cozy and warm and there are wonderful selections of hot meals (and cold). It was one of the highlights for me. So, if you are going to be at the MK, and it looks like rain, try to get a PS for lunch at LTT.

I think that's it for now.

Oh, one more thing. Regarding electric cart thingies and having them bump into you. My husband rented one (havng pain in his leg) at Epcot. When he went on a ride with my DD, I rode it to get a turkey leg because my feet were about to fall off. It was educational. Because I had the HARDEST time not bumping into people!! I was going really slow and stayed away from folks, but I swear, about every 30 seconds, someone would suddenly stop, or change their course, and I would barely miss them. I now TOTALLY understand how hard it must be for those riding the carts. If any of you has a family member or friend who rents one, I highly recommend that you try it for 5 minutes. It will completey change your attitude about being bumped by one. It will be much less stressful, because you will know that alot of the time they just can't help it.

Ok, that's it for now.

Feel free to ask questions! :wave2:

Nice post :cool1: I think your insight about "scooter sensitivity" was a good one. Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. Isn't that the way it always works? You swear you won't go back for a while, then the magical memories come flooding in....

Thanks for the tips and glad you had a great trip.

Where do you think you want to stay on your next trip - another monorail resort?

Sounds like you had a great time! Do you have pictures to share of your trip?

glad you had a great time , my family are goinig this weekend, could you please tell me about how good is the hopper buses.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this post!

Ilovestich: We decided that when we go back, it will be the week after Thanksgiving (2007?) and it will be at the GF.

LoriMistress: yes! I'll post some pictures. Although it may be a day or so before I'm able to.

purplecat117: We didn't use any of the buses (rented a car) so I'm not sure. Sorry!

How cold was it? I am sitting here paralyzed with indecision about what to pack...and we're leaving for the airport in nine hours!!! Any advice?

Actually if you follow one of your earlier pieces of advice and get to Epcot at opening you can go straight to Soarin and ride it with no wait. We rode it once, got off and went right back on with no wait the first time and only a couple of minutes the second time even thought the posted wait time was 20 minutes. We then went over to Test Track and rode it twice in a row with no waits there either. We aren't morning people either and when you're in a time zone that is ahead of yours it's doubly hard to think about getting up when you're on vacation but it is SO worth it. So much can be done the first 2 to 3 hours after the parks open. I don't think that can be stressed enough.

Pack a little bit of everything. We were there two weeks ago and needed shorts, short sleeves, long pants and long sleeves and my Dd wore mittens and a hat one night. Most mornings the kids were in shorts and short sleeves and I was in capris. When we headed back to the parks after our break we usually took a jacket with, but didn't always end up needing them, and about half the time changed into long pants and long sleeves.

Cool report! Thanks for posting it! It sounds like you had a pretty magical trip! :wizard:

DW and I are morning people, so we are right there with the getting to the parks early. Our DDs are morning people as well, EXCEPT on school days... :rotfl2: It's amazing that on the weekend and during vacation that they can be up and dressed and ready to go way before the usual time the school bus arrives, but on school days, we're rushing to get on shoes, running back to brush teeth, etc. :rotfl2:

Our trip in Jan. will be DS first trip to WDW. He is not an earlier riser, so I'm not sure how well we'll do on that front. We'll just have to see...

thanks for such a sweet post. Reading it makes me so much want to go back.
Your tips were great.

Glad you had wonderful time
