Just back from a 9 day stay at BCV 8-18 - 8-26. It was me, DW, DD (9 months), SIL, BIL and 3 DNs (6, 6 and 4).
I'll start with our arrival at MCO. We had reserved YourRide based on reviews on this board. Boy, did we do the right thing! We were expecting a van similar to what brought us to Newark Airport instead we got a super stretch limo. Jim, our driver was amazing! He gave us the best service we've ever had from a limo driver. Always smiling, quick with some Disney trivia and wonderful with the kids. What a great start to a Disney vacation!
After our grocery stop (Albertson's) we arrived at the BCV. We arrived on a Sunday at around 2PM. The portico was so crowded we had to wait for 10 minutes before Jim could pull up enough to drop us off. The wait wouldn't have been so bad had it not been for a family that simply STOOD in front of Jim's limo for 5 minutes not allowing us to pull forward.
Our room was not ready so we checked our luggage and headed to SAB. WOW!!! Great pool...great waterslide....great all around. We were greeted at the entrance by a CM who politely asked for our room keys and how many towels we needed. We were given wristbands that showed we belonged and found 7 lounge chairs in a row....The kids hit the slide and we started our BCV stay thankful we switched our ressie from VWL (our home).
At 3PM I felt lucky so I called and checked if our room was ready. Sure enough, it was. We headed to our room, a dedicated 2BR room 104. We were very happy with the condition of the room when we entered. Everything appeard to be in good order and neat and tidy. We were in for a little surprise...It turns out the room was missing a few pieces of equipment. Nothing major. Just a cutting board, pitcher and sheets for the port a crib. No big deal. Housekeeping brought everything up when we called. My advice...check the room before you do anything. We found out we needed these things right when we needed them. I was a little surprised not to find a list of what should be there in the room. I believe we had one in May at OKW... Amazed to find out the front desk didn't have any sort of list either.
This being our first trip without a car we were a little wary of using Disney transportation. We found we had nothing to worry about. Waits for busses and boats avaeraged about 10 minutes while the short walk to Epcot was a welcome surprise. We think we'll continue to use their transportation and save the rental car money for more points.
Overall, crowds were low...I was surprised to find that while Snow White and Small World had 5-10 min waits Pooh and Peter Pan had 50-60 minute waits. No big deal we did Fantasy Land at 8PM on Friday while waiting for our ENite to start with much less of a wait.
Weather was cooperative, if a little hot and humid. Guess that's DW in August for ya.
One more thing... Beaches & Cream is now our favorite burger joint in Orlando. They served us such juicy, great tasting burgers that we just had to go again. And the Kitchen Sink was worth every pound I put on just looking at it.
Can't wait for our next trip.....
