Jungle Cruise Overhaul

Really hope it's not actually an overhaul, but instead plussing or even completely changing a scene or two. Could lead to some new opportunities for some great bad jokes.

I'm totally OK with this. Keep the classic touch but minor changes such as in the Pirates enhancements are more than welcome.

The Rock is there for hype and cross promotion. You will see a lot of behind the scene videos with him and the imagineers but actual work will be handled by the imagineers.

Kind of disappointed. Honestly Jungle Cruise needs a lot of help. While I can understand the love for classics like Peter Pan or Tiki Room. Jungle Cruise just doesn't fall in the same category for me. The most endearing aspect of the ride is poking fun of the ride. I bet Walt would be all for a significant overhaul of Jungle Cruise that both kept true to the theme but took advantage of new technology instead of bad jokes to keep it entertaining. I wonder when they were building Pandora how many times the words were uttered, "we really should do this for Jungle Cruise."

Have you ridden Jungle Cruise at night? It definitely kick-started my love for the ride. Completely different vibe. I also found the Skippers to be a wee bit more adult in their humor after dark. It is WDW so not wildly adult. Still a great way to refresh your interest in a classic. I'm OK with small changes a la PoC. I love Dwayne but I definitely do not want to see him popping out of the bushes at me around every bend. There are enhancements and then there are . . . yikes.

Thinking about it . . . I'm not sure that this was a slip. Dwayne has worked with Disney at least once before (Race to Witch Mountain) so not his first rodeo with a classic Disney brand. He knows Disney is proprietary and controlling. He's no dumb bunny. He doesn't strike me as being careless even if he was enthusiastic about the project. Wouldn't shock me if this was a planned & coordinated trial balloon. We often think social media is a relaxed, ad hoc folksy chat. Sometimes we forget that it is a powerful advertising medium. I have no insider knowledge to back this up. Just a different view & a gut suspicion.
