Jungle Cruise Overhaul

I was a first time visitor in 2015. I love this attraction. So much. Jungle Cruise is one of the Mary Poppins attractions. Practically perfect in every way.

And clearly I'm not in the minority because the thing has some of the longest wait times in MK on a regular basis.

Jungle Cruise is my favorite ride in the MK. That being said, I wouldn't mind the queue being updated to reflect more of the story. I also wouldn't mind if they updated some of the animatronics. However, getting rid of the skippers or the puns would upset me greatly. Considering the newly added restaurant in MK, I certainly don't see the Jungle Cruise going anywhere anytime soon. Just hope that they hold off any significant update until we know how successful the film actually is.

Updated or plussed- OK, changed or re-themed- not OK.
Not everything has to be new and shiny.

That being said, I wonder why WDW never added the piranhas like at DL?

Oh, and the Country Bear overlays should be done as well (Isn't there a summer-themed one too?). Can't cost too much in the whole budgetary scheme of things.

Have you ridden Jungle Cruise at night? It definitely kick-started my love for the ride. Completely different vibe. I also found the Skippers to be a wee bit more adult in their humor after dark. It is WDW so not wildly adult. Still a great way to refresh your interest in a classic. I'm OK with small changes a la PoC. I love Dwayne but I definitely do not want to see him popping out of the bushes at me around every bend. There are enhancements and then there are . . . yikes.

Um this is exactly what I want........giving The People's Eyebrow and calling me a Jabroni.

I think our family is the exact opposite of what you just described .... when we do the Jungle Cruise my wife and I are having a ball and sometimes saying the puns along with the skipper, while our kids just roll their eyes - meanwhile they could do the Kilimanjaro Safari 100 times in a row or spend hours on the walking trails or at Rafiki's Planet watch

I'd chill with your kids then while you and the wife go ride Jungle Cruise.

I currently ride JC about once every other year. It takes about that long for the corny jokes to fade enough for me to really enjoy the ride again. I look forward to change.

I enjoy the ride but my last several exp on it have been flat. I just don't think the quality of the skippers has stayed consistent. While the jokes are gonna be corny, it is all in the delivery. The last couple of skippers seemed to have just been going thru the motions. sad cause I really like the ride for what it is

OT, but what are the Tiki Room rumors? I confess, I hated it.
Tiki Room is going away according to rumors or at least being changed. Hate is a strong word ;) It's an original I wouldn't want to see go but some updating or changes might make it better depending on what those changes are.

Lol. I know. But I did. It was painful. I'll never return if it stays as is. Ugh. I shudder just thinking of it. Yet, we all loved JC, and I would hate to see the treehouse go, so go figure ;)

The rumor I saw was we were getting the stitch version Tokyo has ... I'd rather Walts version get some non IP related plusing then Stitch or total removal

As much as I didn't like it, I agree that it should stay true to the original - same with all the original attractions like Country Bear, Jungle Cruise, Treehouse, Small World etc...

Maybe Disney's 5th gate (or new land) should be Nostalgia-land. It could include Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, CoP, among others, and they could bring back Mr. Toad and 20,000 Leagues! pixiedust:

Do you think there will ever be a 5th gate?

Per Spirit and a few others at WDWMagic.com - Jungle Cruise is just getting a face lift per say for the 50th. Not Moana revamp as has been suggested.

Do you think there will ever be a 5th gate?

Not any time soon. The simple fact is there is too much to do at WDW for the typical vacation as it currently stands. American's, the vast majority of visitors to WDW, take week long vacations. You simply can't do all 4 gates, water parks, resort amenities, DS, etc. in a week. So there is little upside to adding a new gate when smaller changes, like adding 2 rides in a new land, works pretty well at driving new attendance.

I suppose at some distant point in the future it may become a necessity, but spending billions to build a new land, when upgrading is already an issue, just isn't feasible. See EPCOT...
