June on the Bayou - A Pretrip Report, Updated daily!!

7 More days!!

This time next week, we will be there!!

How about a look at our schedule!!

June 13 –We leave at no o’clock in the morning and arrive at the beautiful Riverside resort. Hopefully we will get our room in the bayou (love those trundle beds) and head to MK for a lunch at Casey’s. After hanging out there for awhile, we are hoping to go over to DHS for the Hyperspace Hoopla and then to EPCOT for Illuminations and a leisurely walk around the lagoon to celebrate our first night in WDW.

June 14- Star Wars weekend, baby!! We plan to stay all day and see it all! We have a very late lunch planned at the Sci Fi Dine-in and will probably have an early night in after all day in the heat.

June 15- EPCOT We will hit all our favorites and lunch at Le Cellier. Couple of sets with Off Kilter in the afternoon, then over to AK for EMH. Not really to ride anything, we’ve just always wanted to see AK after dark.

June 16- We are sleeping late and then heading to DisneyQuest. (earplugs not included.) We’ve never been all together and there are a lot of four people activities we want to try. Later we may head over to AK for the last show of Festival of the Lion King and maybe catch Wishes from the Polynesian beach.

June 17- Straight to MK for the morning show and everything. BTMR and the last ride of the day on Jungle cruise are on the list of must dos. I want to try for of those Figaro Fries! Possibly EPCOT for Illuminations after our afternoon break.

June 18- Animal Kingdom. We plan to try the Picnic in the Park option for lunch and hit Finding Nemo the musical and definitely the Safari. Over to DHS in the evening to just hang out and soak up the atmosphere.

June 19- Em/ Lynn and Jake/Chuck day! Em and Lynn are having an early breakfast at Crystal Palace, a ride on the Astro Orbiter and over to EPCOT to take our picture in all the countries. Jake and Chuck are having Lunch with an Imagineer at DHS and then secret plans that they have not shared.

June 20- Another sleep late day followed by a late breakfast at Kona and renting a boat at Poly for a ride around Bay Lake.

June 21- Father’s Day! Chuck gets to decide what park, but we have a late lunch planned at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. (It’s kind of a family tradition.) Most likely we’ll hit EPCOT for Illumniations and then over to MK for EMH. We don’t usually do EMH, but it’s our last night!!

June 22- Possible hit a park before we head home. Boo hoo!

So what do you think? I think it’s going to be an awesome adventure!!

We'll look for you Sunday at Star Wars Weekends...I'm sure we will be there all day as well. Ben LOVES Star Wars! We also plan to check out EMH at AK on the 15th!

Got any packing done yet? Nope, I haven't!

Your plans sound AWESOME. I love that you are having a Lynn/Em Chuck/Jake day! That is great. I'm a teeny bit jealous that they are having lunch with an Imagineer, that is something I really want to do someday! :thumbsup2

Okay I got a little packing done and now I'm taking a break. The house is so quiet and it is nice to get things done, but I just want to DIS or finish my book!

I've got to get over to your trip report and see what you look like so I can look for you. Just look for the puddles of sweat and that will be us!!

Thanks! I'm a bit jealous of their lunch too. But, Jake is at the age now where he is staring to think about what he wants to do with his life and we are trying to put him with as many inspiring people as we can. Of course, if he chooses a career with Disney, we would be disappointed.;) In a few years it will be Em's turn and I'll get to go too!!

Thanks for reading!!!

Your plans look great! Only one week to go.

6 more days!!

Just a short update today because we are "chillin'". Teenagers seem to be very good at this.

One new thing we are doing this year since our trip is later this year (usually we are up to our eyeballs in exams), I've picked out six Disney movies to get us in the right frame of mind for our trip.

The Incredibles
Tower of Terror
Haunted Mansion
Pirates: Curse of the Black Pearl
Star Wars: A New Hope
Lilo and Stitch

We'll probably draw names from a hat to decide which one.

Are there any good ones I left out?

I forgot to mention that after I saw you are going to be eating at the Turf Club, I have decided that when we go in April (I know it's kind of a long way off but hey, it's never too early to start planning, right?!) I want to eat there. We're staying at Saratoga Springs so it might be fitting. Thanks for the idea! :thumbsup2

We'll look for you at MK if we end up there on Saturday (which we probably will so I can catch one last glimpse of the castle :sad1:).

Hope we will bump into each other!!

Schedule coming up!

I hope it works out for all of you guys to have some good Dis meets!

nts4wdw, I thought I read that Figaro fries no longer existed. I guess you can let us know if that's true or not. I look forward to seeing what you think of Picnic in the Park, as we are thinking of trying that out in July.

I think lunch with an Imagineer would be very interesting.

Have a good week ahead as the excitement mounts around your house!

WE ate there two summers ago and really liked it. It was Father's Day and it was last miute and the only place we could get. It was almost empty. The service was great and the burgers were super. It was a cool day and we got to sit out on the patio by the water and watch the boats go by. It was a nice meal and we are all looking forward to going back.

I hope it works out for all of you guys to have some good Dis meets!

I'll let you know about the Figaro fries. I'm sure we'll find other things to eat if they are gone. :goodvibes

I am excited about the Picnic in the park as well, because that first Nemo show messes with our normal time to go to Pizzafari. By the time we got there on the last trip, it was packed. If we can get a good pickup time, it will be perfect! I'll let you know about that as well.

Hopefully we'll see some Dissers on the trip. I love guest stars in a trip report!!!

Hi Lynn! I'm jumping on board for this one- I loved the daily updates before Mousefest, and I'm loving these as well! I so hope you get to meet some DIS-ers. That would be too fun! :thumbsup2

Hello! I'm here!

You are in the home stretch! Your plans sound terrific!! :yay: I'm so looking forward to a Lynn and Chuck TR! I'm sure you guys will have a fantastic time!

Jake did a great job on your cards. :rotfl: that Lynn's weakness is Jack Sparrow. Mine too, sister!

Looking forward to the final countdown with you and of course to the TR! And to September when I will see you in the World! :hyper:

:cool1:Hurray for packing!!:cool1::cool1: One week for you! Does that mean this time next week you will be there?

Yes, we will be there! :cool1:

My ticker is really a day off! We added a day at the beginning of the trip! We get in on Saturday! :woohoo:

I can't wait to hear about Star Wars Weekends. We actually just discovered Hyperspace Hoopla when my DH stumbled across the videos on YouTube. We went to SWW in '07, but we didn't even know it was there. My kids now think it's the best thing ever! When we go next year, they're going to be honestly salivating. My older son thinks that he should wear his Jedi robes (which he's currently trying to sweet talk his Grammy into making him for Halloween) when he goes...I can't seem to make him understand how darn HOT it is - and that Mommy is NOT carrying a set of sweaty Jedi robes around DHS for the day!!! I'll have to be sure to show him your pics when you get them posted.

Yeah for it being so close!!! Your plans look great. I'm interested to see how Disney Quest has changed, since it's been 10 years since we've been there, too. And I am also in the "Jealous of the Lunch with an Imagineer" club. How cool is that??? I hope we get to hear about it...hint hint....popcorn:: Have fun filling those suitcases!

Hey! I'm glad to "see" you again!! We are hoping to meet up with Dis-ers too!

I don't know a woman who does not have a weakness for Jack Sparrow, although I have heard tale of a few women that prefer William Turner.

I was hoping Chuck would show his face around her some, but he is so busy tying things up for work. You know he'll be in for the trip report!!

Yes, we will be there! :cool1:

We get in on Saturday too!! Are you flying or driving? We are driving. There is a shuttle launch 7:15 on Saturday morning and I'm wondering how it will be to view it from the road. What a cool way to start our trip!!

Meme made Jedi robes for Jake two years ago, but he didn't wear them in the heat. I can't wait to see the Hoopla. We have been looking at the Youtube stuff daily!
I'll give you the info on DisneyQuest. This will be the first time all four of us have gone together so I'm anxious to try the stuff that takes four people.
The suitcases are filling up...and multipling!!:rotfl:

Thanks everyone for reading!

5 more days!!

Movie of the evening: Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

Em and I went through all our drugs and toiletries today and packed them. We go so often I just have extras of everything, so we just need to double check it.

At times in our house before a Disney trip, the excitement has almost been too much for us to bear. Several years ago Jake came up with an idea. If every time we felt overwhelmed with excitement (especially if a trip was awhile away), we would press the excitement down inside of us like placing it into a little box, then when we went under the main gates at WDW, we would let it all go. Whenever one of us would say, “little box!”, we would know that they were too excited to be heading back to the most magical place on earth.

Today Jake sent me this.

I think they are excited!!

I love the little box! What a great idea. I totally get that kind of excitement! :lmao: Has your family seen Meet The Robinsons? It seems like a movie you all might like. :thumbsup2
