we are taking our 3 kids for the first time this summer and need to know when the best time to go would be and what to expect for weather? kids are 11, 10, and 6 ... school ends june 12 and school doesn't start back up until day after labor day..

DH and I took our two kids (5&7) last June. We arrived on the 10th and stayed 10 days. It was very hot and humid and crowded but it really didn't bother us that much. The kids loved it because they got to spend a lot of time in the pool. We went to the parks early in the mornings, took a break in the afternoon and went back to the parks at night. If you or your kids are bothered by the heat you may want to try for a different time of year.:D

I would recommend mid August. I've been the past two years and the crowds really start to thin out towards the middle of the month. Many southern schools have already started back and you will miss most of the tour groups.

I also recommend Mid August. We did WDW last summer during August and not only were the crowds less, but it wasn't as hot as July usually is. (maybe we hit a cold spell)

Mid-August is great time to go. Low crowds most southern schools back in school. It's still hot you swimm in great weather. Still have fun and parks around 9:00p.m.

I hope have great time

I recommend the one lf the last 2 weeks of August. Abbout 50% of the nation will be back in school. Crowds become thinner. However, boy is it hot and sticky.

Definately stay away from 4th of july time. One of the busiest.

We have been over 12 times. I have never been in August but I can tell you we have always finished our vacation there by June 10th and the crowds are usually not too bad. The only exception was we went one time from June 15th to June 21st, and I will never go back that late again as the crowds were terrible compared to ealry June.

The first two weeks of June or the last two weeks of August are best as far as crowds go. August is definitely much hotter and has greater humidity, so it depends on how much that would be a deciding factor for you.

We use to go the last 2 weeks of August till my DH couldn't get that time off anymore. That was our favorite time of the summer to go because the crowd level dropped significantly. Most of the country goes back to school before that time.

We went in July once.
It was hot/humid and CROWDED!
We made sure to get up early and be at the parks well before they opened, so we were able to hit most of the major rides with out major waits.
The only thing that really was a problem was the HOARDS of tour groups of teenagers from Brazil. They were rude and swarmed every place we went. My husband and I were holding hands and they pushed right through us!!!
once we decided not to let them bother us to the point of ruining our vacation we were much better off!!
(At Sea World we met an older couple who was staying in the same hotel as a few of the groups.... They said they were noisy 24 hours a day!) My Hubby made them laugh by doing impersonations!!
