June/July/August 2006 Code watch

My prediction is for next Wednesday because I will be away from a computer from 5:30 am (getting up early to drive to a faraway meeting) until mid afternoon when I get back.

lol I am getting crazy with all this
And then the commercial for the free rental car with kids stay play and eat free at Universal comes on and my DH says"Remind me why we are going to Disney?"

Please Disney give us a little break.

This is driving me totally insane. I feel the need to check this thread every couple of hours and if I can't get to the computer I get really worked up! If they don't come out next week (I can't believe I'm saying this) we might shorten our trip. :confused3

Not only that but the tickets at Universal are pay for 2 get 5 days and a free kids ticket with each adult pass! That's why we're doing the last four nights at HRH.

I am betting...( not that i have ever bet before..lol ) that the codes will be out WED MAY 3rd.

The last 2 years the summer codes came out the first Wednesday in May.

So sit back, relax and strap it down..bet the house its Wednesday May 3rd.

I sure hope when they do come out the airlines bring out their sales too. I just wanna book to feel assured that we are going.

Just home from work and dashed over to the computer to read all the posts I missed (after checking mousesavers and intercot first). You guys all make me laugh!

:rotfl2:

It's kind of comforting that I'm not the only one who is going nuts with all this waiting. My only question is...I've only been an every-ten-minute-refresh-the-page watcher-of-codes for only about a week and a half. (Before that, it was once a day in the morning.) How long have you all been calling daily and checking sites throughout the day? I don't think my poor little heart could take it!

:hyper:

I'll tell you one thing. After all this lat night planning and waiting, and the getting up at dawn to check for codes...we'll all REALLY deserve a vacation!

I know! How 'bout we go to Disney World!!!

:woohoo:

Did you all see the post that CM's have been put on alert? for AP rates?!!!!

It's going to happen! YES! THiNK POSITIVE!!!!!

:cool1: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :bounce: :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :jumping1: :jumping3: :jumping2:
and last but not least...a little pixie dust!

:tink:

So this afternoon my 5 year old decided SHE was going to call to get a hotel room. :cutie: The kids know we are going but when they ask where we are staying I say I am not sure. I guess in her mind we do not have a reservation. So anyway, she takes my paperwork and procedes to call in (I never thought she would get through!). Well, she did!!! A VERY nice CM spoke with her and then asked for mom so I got on the phone. I explained our dilema over AP rates and are telling the kids that we do not know where we are staying...blah, blah, blah...anyhow he chatted a bit and said that AP rates are coming out very soon, probably next week. :hyper: He also said they are bombarded with phone calls from AP holders looking for the discounts past June 3. He said that there WILL be AP rates for the summer but not to be surprised if they skip some dates, especially in June  (sorry for those of you waiting for June) but they are coming. Sorry for the good and bad news, I still think we should hold out hope until next week when and if they finally release something.

Anyone else out there think they're going to skip June and start the codes after the 4th of July?

I'm getting worried. Our trip is 6/30-7/8 and I'm thinking about changing it to 7/7-7/15 just so we have a better shot at codes and can stay in the resorts we really want.

I don't think I can make it 'til next Wednesday...or even worse...FRIDAY!

:worried:

Here's some extra pixie dust for all of us waiting for June codes:

I got excited when I called this morning at 7am and was told the computers were down and would be up at 7:45. So I called back at 7:45 and was told no AP rates. So I kindly asked if she knew when they may be coming, she said she didn't look for them or not too many of them since the resorts are fairly booked up for the summer months already. NOT what I wanted to hear, so let's get the pixie dust flowing to make sure that doesn't happen!! :wizard:

If I were betting on this...YES, I honestly think June is getting skipped over. We will be at POR from June 14-25..AAA rate room only for $1600. We already have SWA booked and ADR's confirmed. So we will not be changing dates.

The conversation i had with a CM earlier in the week sticks in my head....the resorts are 92% capacity for June. He stated it was a good thing i already had my dates.

So, yes....i do think June is getting skipped over....Now I do know that nothing in life is promised, let alone AP rate discounts...

BUT trust me, I have the direct line to the disney honchos...."&%#@" will hit the fan. !!!!!!!

and now comes the time for final arrangements --- I just need to do an add-on for a weekend ---- not too big for me -- but what about the ppl holding deluxe acommodations waiting for that AP rate??

I am checking into BCV --- all I needed was a couple day add-on -- guess I will be caling member services on mon am to get 25% off for that weekend I am looking for for a back-up plan :hourglass

The two CM's that I spoke with today about FL resident rates or AP rates for June seemed sure that there would be some out very soon and for my dates. I don't know about all of the resorts being at 92% capacity, there is plenty of every level of room for the Yacht Club or Beach Club during my stay and it's not always the easiest to get into since they get a lot of conventions there. I was able to add a couple of extra nights just this morning and when I asked about adding another room I was told no problem We also booked our friends in last night under AA for June 15th to the 18th and they had tons of choices between the values and moderates.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I just looked at my planner from 2004, and saw that the general public code for summer that covered 4th of July week came out on June 8th! It was code XOA, and you saved a flat $75 a night on deluxes.

The summer AP code for 2004 (that also covered 4th of July) came out on May 5th, and was code AZB.

So there's hope that it isn't too late.

I don't have it wrotten down what the savings was with the AP code, but I do have it that the AP code wasn't too much better than the general public code. I applied the AP code, without actually having the AP yet, and then applied the public code instead.

Original AAA code for AKL 5 nights savannah $1,443 booked April 29th, 2004
AP code $1,193 booked May 5th, 2004
Public code $1,264 booked June 8th 2004

Even though it cost $71 more for me, it was actually less in the long run, because I didn't have to buy a $400 AP, just a 5 day park hopper.

So don't give up!

I talked with a nice cm this afternoon. I asked her if codes ever come out on weekends. She said that she has seen them on Sundays before, that it is the first day of their work week. She was confident that they should be out next week.

Well, I just read the CM On Alert thread, and it appears my dates are incorrect. But I could've sworn...I have all my 2004 WDW trip info with the dates written down. :guilty:

You're right about the public room only code. 6/8/04.
I looked on mousesavers, but the AP rate is listed for 2004 for early May.
