For our last three trips we've been lucky enough to be able to go in October. Last trip it was a bit busy because of Columbus Day but it was still pretty easy to do everything we wanted to without having to wait in massive lines.

But my daughter is in elementary school now. I am taking her out for week this October but this is going to be our last off-season trip for a while. I'm starting to plan a June 2018 trip - would be our last trip before my daughter ages into an adult.

I'm guessing that it will be a lot busier than I'm used to, but I was curious if anyone could provide any feedback. Also I was planning on going as soon as my daughter is out of school, but I'm not sure if that would be the best time or if it would be better to wait until the middle of the month.

Any feedback would be great!

We went the first week of June last summer. I think it is a good time. Many schools are still in session, so it is a little less crowded. With a plan, rope drop and FP+, we were able to hit up everything we intended to. We went during Star Wars weekends and Gay Days. We just avoided the parks with the crowds as best we could There was one evening at MK where it seems everyone ended up. Lots of people dressed in Star Wars and Gay Days attire. I think everyone just had the same idea as us to end at MK for the evening. It was pretty miserable. Wall to wall people. The rest of our days were more of a 7-8 on a 1-10 crowd scale.

* You won't have to worry about Star Wars weekends now though.

Go as early in June as possible- many schools will be still in session, so there will be slightly smaller crowds. I would say no advantage to waiting for mid-month (unless it's like this year and all the new attractions are opening mid-June!).

We have gone June 8-14 and June 3-10 which were the earliest dates we felt safe with allowing for snow days. This year we're going 11-17 to allow DD14 to go on a choir trip first. DH is concerned the crowds will be bigger, but at least we get to ride new Soarin'!

we usually go the first week of June and it is ok. The problem this year is we are missing everything new as summer to Disney is mid June. We get to see the Jungle book show though.

Thanks!

My daughter doesn't get out of school this year until June 10th - because of snow days. I'll have to see what happens next year and go from there.

We have done first week of June and Easter Break (which was much more crowded - I mean MUCH more crowded). This year we are doing 2nd week of June (11-18) so that we can go June 4-10 next summer on our APs. I am a little worried about the later week this year. But I have heard there is not too much difference in the 1st and 2nd weeks. I'm banking on that right now :)

We have gone twice the first week of June and had terrific trips. We are night owls so we tend to go to the parks in the evenings a lot when its cooler and stay until closing.

We went a little later in June last year (like your 2016 dates) so that we could get 2 trips on our AP (well, actually 3 since we went during Thanksgiving, too), so we'll be there the first week of June this year. I wouldn't worry about the second week vs. the first week as far as crowds. More and more people are trying to go at a lower crowd time, and as a result, the lower crowd weeks have gotten more crowded -- it's kind of spreading out if you know what I'm saying. I really don't think there's any noticeable difference anymore in the first week compared to the second week.

Well that's exactly what I wanted to hear!

I've gone the first week of June the last few years as my daughter gets out of school at the end of May. I've found the crowds to be not bad. It can get a little packed in the afternoon, though if you hit the park in the morning, take a break, and then go back in the evening you'll be fine. The water parks seem to be almost empty until a bit later in the day too.

We went last year in mid-June after 9 years of annual late April/early May visits. We expected a huge difference in crowds, but it wasn't that bad. We hit the parks early, go back to the resort after lunch, then go back to the parks around dinner, staying late. You avoid a lot of the crowds that way.

Most of our trips have been in mid to late June or early July. Doing it again this year. Last year, we bought our AP on July 3rd, so we're going June 17th this year and staying all the way until it expires...not renewing until summer 2017 :(. Observations about June

It's crowded as any other time we've gone. Closer you get to 4th of July, the bigger the crowd gets.

It's hot. No, let me rephrase. It's sweaty, blistering hot.

It can rain...a lot. It can also be sunny for days on end (typical Florida)

Lots and lots of tour groups...mostly from Brazil. You have to learn to navigate around them.

That sounds like a lot of negatives...but it's not. It's a lot of fun, and frankly I prefer Disney in the hot weather. Just be prepared.

We will be there June 18-22 - next month! I can let you know once I return how those dates were!!
