These are my minutes for the weekend:
June 2 - 51 minutes running
June 3 - 100 minutes running (1 hour and 40 minutes)
Total: 151/1000
It's been a good weekend so far. I got out to go running and I made a pie for a friend's birthday. And my blog made the top 9 on a site for food bloggers called
Foodbuzz! I was so surprised (and happy). My blog is the one with the strawberry basil scones. The top nine changes every day so it might not be there if you're looking at it on Monday (but the link to my blog is in my sig).
This week, I'm looking to get into the gym twice, go out for beach volleyball on Friday night and hopefully get in some more running during the week and on the weekend! Everyone is doing great so far!!
Strawberry basil scones - how delicious does that sound? I will definitely check that out. Sounds like a great weekend, too.
That's a lot of walking - you must have a very happy pup!

Good for you!
My goal is to have a very tired pup, who sleeps through the night and doesn't wake up his mommy for play time at 3 am. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
All that walking is thanks to my goal of participating in the Princess Half Marathon next year. I'd like to test the waters by walking in a local half this October, which is why I'm working on these long distances now. I'll see how well I can survive our super hot and humid summers - this is quite a departure for me in the activity department. I usually hibernate between May and September.
bunnyfoo~ your strawberry basil scones look so good!
My niece has a foodblog on Foodbuzz! I love that site!
OT, sorry
Ha, in my book, food is NEVER off-topic! Which is why I need to exercise. *sigh* a vicious cycle.....
A half marathon on Saturday and a long walk today gave me a good start. Excited to be part of this!
You are cracking me up at how you posted the news of your half marathon so casually, like it was an every day occurrence. One of these days, I hope to do the same. We are definitely excited to have you!
As for me, did an hour dog walk this morning (but clocked less steps??

Figure that one out. Guess we were moving slower than usual. My knee is rather swollen and really hurts, so that might be the cause). I am currently trying to get my husband to go to the pool with me so I can do some laps, but he is not feeling it (and I am not quite brave enough to where a suit and go to the pool when people will be there by myself). I still have 3000 steps to complete tonight too!

I decided to pick up the BL season mantra of "no excuses" so come hell or high water (or a really painfully swollen knee) I will at least get 10k steps today!
Be careful of that knee! About the steps, maybe your dog had fewer 'stops' to make. I always seem to log lots of steps when my pup makes lots of pit stops - all that back-tracking I suppose.
35 minutes on the treadmill tonight...I was able to jog for a minute, walk for minute for the entire time. Progress!!!
65/1200
Congratulations, Angie! I see that you're getting ready for the Princess, too - we'll be training together.
Well I am officially signed up for the Wounded Warrior Project 8K in September!
It is mandatory to raise at least $99 but my goal is $400. If anyone is interested you can donate
here.
What a great project to undertake - congratulations and thank you for posting that information.
doing 5k's sounds so impressive. I want to be able to do one

I am so not a runner, but would like to be. Those of you that are, are just amazing.
I felt the same way before I signed up for my first 5K in April. Then I was pleasantly surprised at the fitness range of the people who were there and, even walking most of the way, I wasn't the last to finish. You should go for it - we have a site called racesonline that lists the ones in our area. You can look at individual races to find one that wouldn't be too crowded or intimidating for you. At the very least, you get a nice T shirt to sleep in!
Am I too late to join the challenge? If not, I'd like to commit to 450 minutes this month, with already having done 35 of those.
Thanks!!
No, you're not too late --
My family is from the Clarkesville/Cornelia area. What part of N GA are you in? I just love that part of the country - such beautiful mountains and trees!
I'm not a runner anymore either (destroyed my knee in July 2009 during a workout, and 4 surgeries later it's just functioning), but I really enjoy doing the 5ks. I walk them as fast as I can. You should try one -- maybe a local charity event. I find that there are lots of walkers at most of them, especially on a nice day.
Wow, four surgeries and you're still so active. I'd have given up long before now. You continue to amaze me!
Sat 6/2 - 28 mins
Sun 6/3 - 28 mins
Mon 6/4 - 28 mins
Total for month 112/1000
I also deep cleaned my house for over 3 hours on Sat scrubbed floor boards, all tile and linoleum on my hands and knees- I was one gross, sweaty mess after that - I want to take a shower just thinking about it! Ick! But it cured the soreness in my shoulders!
Okay, I would so count all of that cleaning! Do you want to count that?
I want to try to do 1300 minutes for the month. So far I have done 220 minutes

Sounds like you are off to a great start!
I did an hour weight-lifting class and an hour Zumba class at the gym this morning bringing my total to 300/1680. Progress
Great work! I'm attempting to start weight-training as a way to cross train. Today I was planning to start and have been procrastinating all morning....I really need to get at it.
