June 3, 2006 - Disney Magic Western Carribean

woohoo  2 months to go :Pinkbounc
Anyone have a DD in the 15 or 16 year age range going. My DD will turn 16 just after we cruise. I also have a dd who will turn 8 while on the cruise. I know she would like to meet someone her age too!! :wave2:

Love2Cruise ~I have a DD who will be 8 in September that would love to meet your daughter. Will your daughter go to the Club or the Lab? Both DD for us will be in the Club. We will have to introduce them at some point.

MickeyTeacher ~ I have girls, so I don't know about the tux issue. It does sound a little much for a six-year-old, but wouldn't it be too cute! If he's willing to wear it....

Has anyone bought pirate night attire? pirate: That is definitely on my
to-do list.

Have a great week everyone and let's not let our thread go on page two again!

I have a dd who is 8. I'm sure she would love to meet your dd (yours too, merryweather). My dd will be in the lab though.

He will wear it- in fact he has worn a tux many times. After talking with my mother- I think this is the route I will go.
Have a great week!

Thanks everyone for responding. It would be nice for our DD's to meet. My DD8 will probably go to the lab since she is in 2nd grade. I think she would enjoy the Lab more. Is there a Dis meet planned yet?

My daughter is also 8 and loved the lab last time. We have looked over the activities and they have a lot that she is looking forward too. My oldest daughter who is now 11 will be 12 in August did not enjoy the club as much.

:goodvibes

Hey everybody :wave2: With Spring now here, I've been busy cleaning house and yards. Also, DS has kept us busy with his Karate classes and graduating to a Red belt plus school functions (talent show, field trips, upcoming Spring Fling, etc...). There is so much going on now. :Pinkbounc

Every chance I get to the store I pick something up for the cruise. I am now trying to decide on a t-shirt or picture matte to have the characters sign on the boat. :confused3 Maybe I'll do both.

Is anybody doing a door sign? I was thinking about doing that too.

My DD is in second grade, also. She is also in the gifted/talented program. I would love for her to go to the lab, but her birthday is not until September. Oh well, she's an easygoing child...if she doesn't know what she's missing, anyway.

Mickeyteacher~I'm glad you decided on the tux. I know your family will look great!

Dweaver~I know what you mean about this busy time of the year. As soon as it calms down we will be cruisin! :cool1:

The Magic will stop at Cozumel not Costa Maya. The following is from the 04/04 All Ears news letter :

"As of April 8, the Disney Cruise Line's 7-night Western Caribbean itinerary on the Disney Magic will again include Cozumel as a port-of-call. Since Fall 2005, when the island was hit by Hurricane Wilma, the Magic has bypassed this stop. Since the cruise ship pier has not yet been fully repaired, cruisers will be taken ashore by tenders. Vacationers will have to be aboard the Magic by 5:30 p.m. that day, since the ship will leave Cozumel at 6 p.m."

Hi. I just booked the 6/3 Western, and I'm suddenly panicking about everything I need to do to get ready. :)

I'm a single mom of 2 boys: 6 and 4. This will be our first vacation just the 3 of us, so I'm a little nervous about the whole thing. We had a DCL cruise booked for Sept 04, but I had to cancel when my ex left. It's taken 2 years to be able to afford to do it on just my paycheck, and I probably should have waited another year, but we got tired of waiting. :)

Welcome Izza. :wave2: Glad to have you join us. Try not to worry, the Disney cruise is pretty effortless and your boys will love it. My DD went on her 1st cruise when she was 4 and had a wonderful time. She was happy the whole week unless we let her get overtired! A little rest time in the afternoon went a long way in keeping everyone contented. It will be a fun and very special week for you and your boys.

:welcome: Izza! I have girls 7 and 5 who will probably meet your boys at the Club. Just relax. You will be ready and remember if you have questions about the cruise there is someone on this board that can help!

HarryLeg~Thanks for the info about Cozumel. It's nice to be "in the loop" with this information. :thumbsup2

Hi Izza! I booked this cruise as a single mom almost a year ago. I know what u mean about scraping the funds together. I have every confidence that it will be worth every penny and we'll have a vacation to remember for years to come. We've all made enough sacrifices over the last few years....its time to LIVE IT UP!

we will be sitting in Key West on the Disney Magic....

Thank you for the welcome everyone. I am so excited about this trip. I swear I'm more excited than the kids. Only 54 days to go. :)

Hey Izza -- :wave2: I know what you mean about being more excited than the kids, I've been thinking and planning for months and I can't wait to be on this cruise. :woohoo: My DH is just as excited about this trip too. My DS has just put it together, even though he's known about it as long as we have. I guess it took the weather getting warm and knowing he only has 7 more weeks of school to realize that the cruise is just about here. Of course the pile of cruise stuff is getting larger and may soon take over the basement. :rotfl2: I seem to buy something for this trip every time I go to the store.

I've been doing that too. I carry my packing list around with me, with everything I still need to buy highlighted. Every time I go to any store, I keep an eye out for anything on the list. I pulled out my biggest suitcase, and I'm just throwing everything in there for now. I'll have to go through it all at some point.
