June 3, 2006 - Disney Magic Western Carribean

Have a good week everyone. DVC your from Dallas right? Are you being affected from the rain? We needed rain really really bad in Oklahoma but it can stop for now. It has rained since Friday. At work we at least have people who will be in all of the parking lots to drive you to the building.

I hope everyone got the excursions scheduled that they were looking forward to. We are really getting close. On one web site they have a web cam and you can look at it right now and see the Magic docked in Key West. It is amazing what you can do on the computers.

SimbaNoodle - so sorry to hear about you having to cancel your cruise. My kids were so looking forward to meeting yours. I hope we can meet up some other time on a cruise.

So how did you other first time cruisers do on your reservations this morning? I was happy that I was able to book parasailing at Castaway Cay and the Tulum Ruins - I just hope we don't get seasick on the tender. Palo will have to wait until we board. On the day I wanted to book Palo, only 9:00 pm. was available and that's too late for us. I'll take my chances on embarkation day.

SimbaNoodle- I'm sorry that you had to cancel. I hope you can rebook soon.

I spent the weekend scrapping our last cruise- Now I'm ready for another. As my son said today- only 1776 hours until the cruise! What a smart boy he is.

Have a great week,
Shawna

I was so worried about getting the excursions I wanted that I set my alarm for 2:55 this morning and booked online. Phew...probably overkill but thankfully we're all set for our first choices. Also signed the kids up for Oceaneers. My son will be 1 month shy of 8 when we cruise so I guess he won't have the freedom his older sister (10) will. Can anyone tell me if I can have my almost 8 year old placed with his older sister? I don't think I will get him to stay there if he can't be with someone familiar.

Can't wait!!!!!!

Baloo,

I thought my daughter would not stay too. However, when we went to the club the first night I could not get her to leave. I think you will be surprised.

:goodvibes

74 Days to go!! :cool1:

Imok - My family and I are scheduled for the 12:30 parasailing on Castaway Cay. It was the earliest we could book when I was on-line. As of now, we (DH and I) are planning on going tandem with our son and daughter.
When are you going? Are you going on any stingray excursions at Grand Cayman? We are considering Captain Marvin's or Captain Bryan's instead of Disney. I've heard good reports about them both.

SimbaNoodle - sorry to hear you had to cancel. Hope you get to rebook soon.

Tam,

We got the 10:30 parasailing at CC. I am OK with that. My youngest daughter got to pick what we did in Grand Cayman since my oldest is parasailing. She picked the Atlantis Submarine. I really wanted to do the Stingrays but I had to let her have a choice. We may try to do the stingrays at CC I don't know yet.

Last time we did the Dolphin Excursion at Blue Lagoon while at Nassau. We really really liked it. We would have done that again but we wanted to try something different.

These decisions are really hard!!!

:lmao:

pixiedust: We are in need of a little pixie dust here- my mom is not feeling well and will have to see a specialist sometime next week. Please send some dust our way!

Thanks,
Shawna

Mickeyteacher - Pixie dust and prayers coming your way... I hope everything turns out OK

Tammy

Mom is seeing a couple of doctors next week- Maybe I will know something then.

THanks!

I just found a web site "Hurricane Wilma in Cozumel". It shows pictures of all of the beaches and gives a description of the condition of the beach. It also has a section about "The Cozumel Chrysalis Group". This is a group that collects money and school supplies for the kids. Many of the kids do not go to school because they do not have the money, supplies or clothes. It has a list of supplies that are needed by the school for the students.

Have a Good weekend.

The pixie dust and prayers are working. Mom is feeling better and starts therapy next week. Hopeful she will be fully recovered by the time we hit the goofy pool in 1680 hours (but realy, who's counting? :confused3 )

Shawna

Good News!! Prayers and Pixie Dust still coming your way. Will keep your mom on the prayer chain.

62 days 26 minutes to wait...

just in case anyone is interested. ;)

btw.. this thread has been tooo quiet for tooo long.

I have been busy cleaning out closets, getting packing list together, making sure the kids have formal wear and finishing grad school stuff. BTW, what are your children wearing for formal night? I'm trying to decide if I want to rent a tux for my 6 year old ds. I picked up a really pretty long pink dress for my 2.5 year old dd. DH and DSF will be wearing tuxes. What would you do?
I agree Jen, we are way to quiet right now- 62 days seems like a long time, but it will be here soon enough!
Also, mom is feeling much better. Thanks for the pixiedust:
