Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Just a note...if you have to hurl in Mission Space, they do have barf bags. I kid you not!

I can vouch for that! My 9 year old son Ben used one!

Too bad about the rain in the UK, but that area of the world is known for damp weather. Should have headed left to Sunny Mexico.

Haven't seen the France movie in ages. I miss it. I still hear the beautiful music in my head though.

I think you were channeling the 80's with your comments about the dried seafood. Gag me with a spoon!

That is a pretty big gummy bear! Did it actually taste good?

I got a little bite and it did taste good. It was green apple.

Poor Ben!

I guess we should have started in Mexico since it's always sunny there. ;)

I remember gag me with a spoon! Oh gosh, I am sooooo dating myself. Not literally dating myself :lmao: but showing my age. :rotfl2:

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Ok, that's what I'm doing on my next trip. Looking for Hidden D**kies.

I wonder if there are more hidden somewhere in World Showcase? Now I'll be on the lookout for them.

oh....that...is.....unfortunate. :rotfl:

Morocco is my favorite country in the World Showcase...I thought I'd see it all. APPARENTLY NOT!! LOL!

My boys would love those Gummy Bears....YIKES! But..with all the money I have invested in the braces in their mouths, we better steer clear! ;)

Unfortunate is a nice word to use Missy. ;)

I thought I had seen all of Morocco as well but that little gem was hidden on a back wall.

Yeah, I can see how you'd want to have the boys skip the gummy bears. Braces are too expensive to mess up!

I can't make any commits on the shorts lady.....Sometimes that happens to me.....but the picture of me would be my hand pulling it out. :lmao:

Me too! I can't stand underwear like that.

:rotfl2:

I was going to say, maybe she got tired of pulling them out of the crack. :rotfl:

That is definitely a "What Not to Wear" moment. The frightening thing is I live in fear of my backside and legs looking like that. :sad2: Yikes! Just yesterday at work there was a PT student with pants so far up her @*@$ that I almost busted out laughing in her face as we were being introduced. Not a good memory! I still shudder!

Otherwise, beautiful detail pics!

Isn't it ridiculous how some folks don't even realize what they look like from the neck down? I often wonder if they look at themselves in a mirror.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Poor lady, her butt was so tired it had given up the fight to keep her 2 sizes too small undies in place.............:lmao: I can't wait to go to Morocco and have Dale find the Hidden D***ey..:rotfl2:.

Ohhh my… what have I missed! Hidden - um - treasures? and wedgies?? Man… I can't take a break from the Dis!!! :rotfl:

Finally all caught up! Don't know how I got so far behind! Sounds like a great Epcot day. Im shocked you didn't post a pic of your set pearl! I cannot believe how big it was! I did pick a pearl last year with my friends. It is always so much fun! Cant wait to see what is next.

I'm finally caught up with your report. We too love Ohana and will go next year. Loved your AK and Epcot days. Agreed they should have full length mirrors for people to see how "good" they look! We are back 2 weeks ans miss it already. Tried somethings new this trip(after 15 trips)...my first Dole Whip, first Cappachino Cupcake. Had dinner at Garden Grill liked the food ok and loved the singing waiters! Had lunch at H&V...loved the food and the characyer interaction! Now I have 11 months to plan our next trip!

These pictures have given me some ideas for what types of pictures I should take this week! :rotfl2:

You should be in WDW now and I'm not ashamed to admit that I am super de duper JEALOUS!

Honey, I am always behind on the Dis especially with the way it was acting over the last few weeks. I didn't even get notifications that I had private messages. :confused3

I have pictures of the settings but they turned out crappy. I think I'll post them anyway.

I hear ya I feel like I missed alot :)

At least your all caught up now. Thank goodness I'm a slow installment poster. ;)

I am so glad that you posted! I almost sent you a private message asking if everything was okay.

It sounds like ya'll had a wonderful Disney vacation! I tried my first Dole Whip this past trip and can't believe that I waited so long for those wonderful bites of bliss. Garden Grill food is just okay for us as well but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Will you be writing a trip report or posting pictures? I'd love to see/hear all about it.

I've never really spent any time in Italy. I couldn't find anything to do there. Although they were never having any little shows when we were there.

Your lady shorts picture was a little alarming :scared:

River saw the picture of Hunter's gummie and now he is begging me to get him one. How much were they?

Yeah, when I looked up and saw the shorts lady, I cringed....both for myself and for her.

I can't remember how much the gummie bear was but I do remember thinking "that's not too bad of a price".

Good morning all my Disboard friends! First off, let me wish my wonderful husband, John, a happy 46th birthday! We were married when we were 18 years old so he and I have celebrated many many birthdays together.

Second, I can't believe none of you eagle eyes have noticed the change to my ticker. I know that Dana has probably seen it but hasn't mentioned it yet. (I've been texting her back and forth for about a week now telling her what I was trying to do.) Now that I've mentioned it, you'll notice that the ticker no longer says All Star Music and now shows Port Orleans Riverside.

A few weeks ago, I started thinking about changing to another moderate for our first night's stay. However, the cost to change was, in some cases, almost double what we would be paying at All Star Music. I simply could not justify that kind of money when we won't be arriving until mid to late afternoon and spending the evening at Downtown Disney.

If I changed to Coronado Springs, I would be paying a difference of about $60. However, the cost of the breakfast buffet would add another $45 to that. I did check out the menu at Cafe Rix but the breakfast items weren't things that we would really like. But, on the other hand, we could pick up something at McDonald's on our way out of the "World" and on the way to Port Canaveral.

When I looked at Port Orleans Riverside, there was a garden view and preferred room available. Garden view was about $80 more than All Star Music and preferred was about $90 more. There's no way I was paying that. If a standard room came available, the price would be about the same as Coronado Springs.

I remembered a few years back when I had booked Pop Century with a special offer and was able to change to Caribbean Beach even though the special offer had expired. So, I called and the first castmember, even though she was nice, wasn't able to do anything for me. Honestly, I don't think she wanted to look.

The next day, I looked at the AAA site and I could get a room at Port Orleans Riverside for $67 more than All Star Music. I asked on the Discounts and Codes forums if I could book a AAA discount through Disney. The posters said that I could so I said, well, I'll just do that.

I called again the next day and the castmember seemed like she wanted to help but her figures were waaaaay off. The AAA amount she gave me was more than the AAA site. About $12 more. I told her that I had done this same thing a couple of years ago and Guest Relations was able to pull a room out of inventory and let me keep the same discount. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes, came back and said that Guest Relations could give me a standard room at POR for $180.00 plus tax. I told her that a preferred room online was only $186 so I knew that $180 couldn't be right.

She tried running numbers again and, to be quite honest, I don't think she "got it" that the figures she was giving me were more than what I could book myself online (with the exception of a standard view room at POR with the spring offer since it wasn't available). She asked me if I wanted to book the $180 standard room at POR and I told her that was too high and seemed like rack rate to me. She said she was going to make a notation on my account that I would call back to let them know if I wanted to make the change or not. I just said okay even though I wouldn't do it because it was too much money.

I kept watching the Disney site to see if a POR standard room became available and it didn't.

Friday afternoon, I placed another call. I had it in my mind if I didn't get something accomplished with this call, I would give up and keep the reservation at All Star Music. I could tell from the minute the castmember answered the phone that this guy was going to be much more helpful. He ran numbers and when they came up, he would say "that can't be right". He'd try again and then say "that's not right either". As he was playing around, I told him that I had found a room on AAA for $144.00 plus tax. He ran those numbers and their AAA price was more. Again he said "that's not right". This guy knew his Disney math.

He asked me what number was I looking for. I told him that I would pay between $160 and $165 but not more than that. He put me on hold. I listened to the Splash Mountain music and cleaned off the computer desk. After about 10 minutes, he came back and said "tell me how awesome I am." At first I didn't catch what he said, then it hit me. I told him he was awesome. He laughed and said that he got the room for $144 plus tax for a total of $162. He took the information needed to pay the difference between the two reservations and that was it. I told him that he was, indeed, awesome and that I really appreciated all his help.

So, long story short (well, it's too late for that  but....), we are now booked for a one night stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We can take the boat to DTD and we get to try out a new moderate resort. I knew that we'd probably never book another stay at All Star Music but there was a possibility that we'd try another moderate in the future.

I've decided not to tell John or Hunter and let it be a surprise. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep my mouth shut but I'll definitely try.

Yay! I'm glad that you were able to get such a good price, even though it took several phone calls. I'm also very happy that you are going to try a new resort. :)
