July 2009, anyone else?

definately more of us out there. We are also getting married in july (hopefully the 27th) but my planner is on holiday so i can't book the discounted rooms yet. Hoping for a week at WL and the remaining 9 days at pop. We are from Scotland so if you see some men in kilts at the boardwalk be sure and give us a wave. xx

We've gone in July 3 times now (03, 05, 07), and I'm hoping for July '09 too!
I've never seen a code for July though.... :sad1:

I hope to book once the package rates are released! :thumbsup2

Oh! Oh! Oh! Me! Me! Me!

Me and my dad are going just to see the special fireworks. We plan on flying down on the 2nd, and flying home on the 5th. Going to do MK on the 3rd, Epcot on the 4th. I'm having trouble picking the resort/s though. Care to help me deicde?

1. Spend the whole trip at the Dolphin.
2. First night at ASMo, last 2 nights at the Contemporary
3. First 2 nights POFQ, last night Beach Club

Which do you think? They all cost about the same, including the towncar we would have to have for the Dolphin.

I'm so excited already!

We are going in July too. I just tried to reserve a room at disney.com and it said that they were only accepting reservations through Dec 2008. So, how did the early birds make their reservations?

You can make a "room only" reservation then convert to a package later if you choose. You will be charged the highest rack rate for 2008 and then your rate will be adjusted when the 2009 rates are released. Your deposit will also be equivelent to one night for each resort you stay.

Count us in for July 09 as well. I am currently in the very early planning stages. Our "annual" July trip for 08 had to be bumped up to March 08, so we'll be suffering withdrawal by then. It'll be worth it though - our second Disney Princess was born on Father's Day, and just couldn't see taking a 1MO to WDW in July. Another time of the year, maybe, but not then.

Probably looking a POFQ. Maybe I'll do a pre-trip - one that I actually complete. Lord knows I've got plenty of time before then!

Count me in as well! We're planning a 2-week trip in July/August 2009; 7 nights on Captiva, and 6 nights at the Poly.

I know this is a little off-topic, but how is the weather different in July than it is in August? We've only gone in July, but I'd like to avoid the large crowds and tour groups this time around.

Thanks! :wizard:

I am in such withdrawl having to wait until July 2009 that I just purchased annual passes! Won't use them until next year but at least I got them before the possible price increase! ;) Hoping for some good Poly AP rates next summer.

We are tentavely planning July- as I have been researching this over the last couple weeks I am starting to think if late June or August would be better?? We are a family of 7 and have never been before (I am a Disney freak) never had the opportunity to go as a kid and this is what I have always wanted to do w/ our kids- Everytime we talked about it the youngest was usually too young for me to feel as if they would really remember it so we kept waiting...:rolleyes1 Now our youngest is 7 yrs old and 48 inches tall- @ Carowinds and Kings Dominion he loves and is able to ride most of the big rides so it is time for Disney!! :dance3: I think I am more excited than any of them- We are even looking into DVC since we are such a large family and accommodations will have to be large as well but I need the "niceties" - I am thinking 10 day tickets w/ park hopper and waterparks and more plus non-expiring- haave found that upfront allthough expensive we will save bunches over time!

We're heading down in late July to August for 10 nights (25th Wedding Anniversary) POFQ already booked just waiting for codes to come out. We'll probably adjust our dates to coincide with AP rates and value season.

Buckeyemouse, we will be down there next July 20-30, and it will also be our 25th wedding anniversary! Marla

Buckeye and Ezma - fellow midwesterners! We will be there July 24th -30th, at POFQ, once I make our reservations. Finally gave in and got my AP yesterday, WOOHOO!

Awaldo, Good for you buying your annual pass! :thumbsup2 I have thought about buying the annual pass just to get a good discount on the room I guess I will wait untill the AAA discounts come out and the closer it gets to see if the annual pass discount is better. We have been down there in July, I know its HOT, I like hot, I just dont like RAIN I mean rain ALL DAY!!! Marla

We have AAA also, but I figured with the AP, I have an excuse to have to go twice in a calendar year. Plan on going late July in 09, then mid July in 2010. I figure that, the savings in admission, and the DDE thing makes it worth it. I am not a big "number cruncher" like some, so haven't figured it to the penny, so I may be wrong, but if it means WDW twice in a year, then being wrong never felt so right :)

The heat in July is definitely a big thing, but sometimes it gets that hot here too, and I work through it. The rain, to me, was actually a little refreshing. It was always a warm rain at least. Plus, that was always a great time at the park because everyone skedaddles!

Hello,

We are planning another trip to the world for July 09. Heres to planning early and hoping for some really good deals. Anyone else with the same hopes?:goodvibes

I just found out that dh has a convention in Orlando in July 2009...so you better believe I am already rallying for a trip!

It would be the first time taking our 2 dd.

Now I have a question about tickets.

Should I buy them now before rates go up? Or will it be an okay deal with the Disney package?

Also, any suggestions on where to stay with a 1.5 and 3.5 year old would be greatly appreciated!

It's so great to be planning another trip!
Had to cancel my August trip..... but this is better.... because I hope to bring DD, her Best Friend, older DD and her DH and the 3 grandkids!!!!
If all goes well for us in the spring.... it'll work!!!:thumbsup2
So.......
Planning end of June - beginning of July.
Glad to find a thread already started
Hoping for some good rates!!
