Maybe the complainers want the kids to stop doing the oh so scripted, "next on Jon and Kate plus 8" line. Last night Jon did one of them so maybe they are hearing you complainers.

I agree with the twins being on camera less. Perhaps they asked for a little space. Mady also seems much calmer lately.

I love Alexis. She is so outgoing and she says/does the cutest things.

I've noticed less mady and cara too. Doesn't surprise me though...my niece is around the same age and I can see her not wanting to be filmed, followed around all the time by a camera crew.

Last week, I actually read (on another board) that mady shooting the spray bottle fan on the cameras and camera crew were "signs" that she doesn't want to be on the show anymore and she knows that the water might break the cameras, therefore, they will leave. Now THAT is nitpicking

All those kids say the funniest things when you least expect it. I'd bet it would be really entertaining just to follow them around and listen to them for a day.

I can't believe I did it, but i made it through all 122 pages of this thread lol yes i need a life and yes it took days ha ha
but anyway I did notice one thing, when this thread started last year it was a different tone, it was all love!! makes me wonder if something is different with the family now since just a year ago...or maybe just more ppl are watching/ talking about it...esp with all these rumors going around.

Im sorta middle of the road, i don't love them and I don't hate them, i really only got into the show during the writers strike when there was nothing else on and got hooked and now i TIVO it all the time.

I was just in PA with my mom (for a disney convention actually) and we went to lancaster for the rest of the weekend, did the strasburg railroad etc and I even joked to my mom, I wonder where J&K live so we can drive by and see if they are filming...imagine if i did and saw that sign? lol
I never even thought about it till i read these threads that i could be considered a nut for driving by....im just nosy thats all lol

I also read the GWoP I think it's funny....and also wanted to mention cause i read it a few pages back where someone mentioned the owner writes about each show, i think its a "guest blogger" that writes, basically anyone can write about each show and it can get posted and commented on.

oh yeah and since i already mentioned im nosy of course I read for the "inside dirt" i live for that stuff lol

The rumor was that there are no child labor laws in north carolina. I just provided a link to the child labor laws. OK lets call it what it is, it isn't a rumor, it is a lie.

In case you do not keep current with the ongoing Q&A dialogue in this blog entry, here is a reprint of a recent question and answer that you may find of interest, relevant to the Heading South episode that was just aired last night, Monday 08/11/2008:

QUESTION: Did Jon and Kate ever discuss moving out of state with Jodi? I think they are moving out of state because of all the fighting with friends and family, nothing is keeping them in PA anymore. I remember a show a few months ago when they were looking at land in PA, not out of state. It is a major change.

ANSWER: A long time ago (probably close to a year), they were talking about building a house close to Beth.

It's been at least 6-8 months now that they have been talking about building a house in NC. J&K attended a wrap party for Season 3 back in May down at Figure 8. When they returned, Jon said that property had been purchased and all of the sponsors had committed. Everything is being provided including appliances, furnishings, TVs, etc. J&K are not paying for ANYTHING.

They have been showing their house plans to various people. Supposedly, it's going to be 8000sf with a pool and pool house. There will be an area designated for the crew including their own entrance and kitchen.

Moving out of state has nothing to do with fighting with family and friends. That has been going on as long as I have known the family. We believe that in order to get the house of their dreams, the production company has stipulated that it needs to be near them. They have no intention of ending this any time soon.

I'm not saying them in particular. I'm relaying what we went through during our state adoption classes. You can't judge a book by its cover. Some people seem to think because the kids "look happy" etc that all the other things don't seem to matter. The bickering between parents constantly, the hitting, the OCD by Kate etc. While I may be a woman, Kate alone would annoy the snot out of me. I would not want to be one of her children let alone her friend. Again, just my opinion.

I don't understand why this tv show is causing us all to be so snarky. I've been called more names in the last two hours then the last two months. I feel like I'm being bullied on the playground. I'm going to give this a rest for a while again and let you all live in your Pollyanna world and hope you all give big when they come to your church, cause again, their lives are so hard

Everyone is judging the book by the cover, even your comments regarding bickering, etc. are judgements. It's just human nature. By the way, I am diagnosed with OCD, and I highly doubt Kate has it. She seems to be your run-of-the-mill germophobe/neat freak.

I don't recall calling you a name. As for the snarkiness, well - your previous post did state how you feel so sorry for those kids; and then stated that there were no labor laws in the state they were possible looking for homes; which I took as a implication that the rotten Gosselins are going to make their poor kids work against their will. Re-read your post - you implied it.

Again, I could give a flying fig who likes or dislikes this show. What I don't understand are the posters who come on here and make accussations and wild implications and then claim they are being "bullied" when the rest of us ask for proof to back up what they are saying.

Considering what usually comes from that site and the "sister," that seems fairly level headed and calm. Interesting. I don't look at the hate sites because I see enough negativity, so I don't know a lot about them, but that seems to be the tamest thing I've seen. Excuse the really long sentence.

I think I finally figured out what bugs me about Kate. Its that she never seems to appreciate things and always wants to be the victim or martyr.

I would expect them to get extra perks when they go places. Who wants to see the family wait in-line for 30 minutes each week or deal with the crowds. Those things don't bother me, but its when she makes comments like she doesn't want to change the kids into swim suits because it will take 2 hours. Come on, she has Jon and the new helper and the older girls can change alone. That leaves her 2 kids to change. There is no 2 hours of anything. Don't blame not changing into swim suits on the fact that you have 6 small kids. I did notice they did change so I guess it didn't take 2 hours! I wish that she would appreciate the fact that she does have help and not be such a victim all the time. I'm glad she has help, just admit it!

I love this show and enjoyed watching the new episodes. I think they are doing a great job with 8 kids. The kids are adorable, happy and well adjusted. I hope great things continue to happen for this family.

And your point is what?
If you read the PA laws, actors and those involved in theatrical productions are also exempt from the child labor laws, and that woudl be a federal exeption.

There are still federal child labor laws that apply. The exact same ones that apply in PA.

I read somewhere that one of the Carolinas has NO child labor laws and regulations. That makes things somewhat suspicious.
Beth and Jodi used to be in alot of the episodes until the "incident" now you don't see either one of them. One of them were always accompaning (sp) them on their "outings". Its sad that things have changed that drastically. I'm one of the unfortunate ones who also feel bad for the kids. There certainly have been alot of "coincidences" lately internet gossip or not.

Note that the above does not make any mention to laws specific to TV production.

I haven't been following this latest argument, but I do know that houses are much cheaper in Raleigh, NC than they are in the Northeast. This past January, I visited a house in Raleigh that was at least 5 bedrooms for about $450,000.

Could that be why J&K are thinking of moving to NC? For a larger house at a cheaper price?

The child labor provisions do not apply to children employed as actors or performers in motion pictures, theatrical, radio or television productions.

The Gosselin children fit none of the above categories. They are not actors.

In regards to the GWoP site, I've read there and even tried to post there. My posts never made it though, because although I wasn't nasty or rude, I was pro-Gosselin and apparently they don't like that over there.

I've read Jodi's sister's site too (and her posts on GWoP) and while I think it's a shame if what she says is true, I don't understand why she feels the need to share personal stuff. She got the Jodi info out and defended her sister, but by sharing more info it seems like she is hurting the relationship between Jodi and Kevin and the Gosselins even more. Public figures or not, I wouldn't feel that it was my place to trash my family in a public forum.

my guess is that housing cost are certainly a factor.
I know last night isn't the first time they have said they want to move south.
Being closer to where the shows production company is is likely a big factor also.
