I agree. Her bangs have been annoying me for awhile. I like how she had when they went to Disney, which ever season that was. Her bangs I think were a little long but not so much in her face.

that's exactly what I mean about her hair... her bangs are too long.

btw, I found this pic online and thought it was funny:

so I just went to the official website (not the TLC one) and looked at the FAQ on there... maybe this has been covered before but I have a few questions about it:

first:
Q: "What types of meals do you cook for the family? Where can I find some of the recipes?

A: I cook from scratch and of course (do I need to mention it again?) organically. The main reason there are none of my recipes posted anywhere is because I don’t use recipes a lot of the time…someday when I get a chance to write my recipes down, I’ll put them out here for all who are dying for them (please don’t though…I personally don’t think they’re worth you giving your life)."

does anyone else but me translate this into kate is going to one day put out a recipe/cook book? I could so see her doing that... and on a side note, I really am surprised her media people allowed her to leave the part about "dying for her recipes" in the answer there. Maybe it's just me, but it's not really funny.. it's more weird.

second:
Q: I read somewhere that you have a private chef—is that true?

A: Yes, her name is Kate and thank you for respectfully referring to me as a “private chef”!!! Okay, seriously now, on filming days, we have what is known (in the world of TV) as “craft services” which is a meal delivered on set for the cast and crew. And on busy shoot days, that is what we have delivered here in organic fashion…and thank God for that! It allows me to peel myself out of the kitchen to do outings or interviews for the show without compromising my families’ nutrition. On the other days, I am in my kitchen cooking…where I most love to be!"

So which is it? Does she only have craft services on filming days and cooks herself the rest of the time... or do they REALLY have a full time chef? Because those two situations are really quite different. Does anyone know for sure or is it all just speculation? just curious.

thanks!

I take it to mean just as it says on filiming days food is delivered. The first half was a joke. Kate is the family's personal chef. Just like I am my family's personal chef and most other mom's around the world are their family's personal chefs.

I think Kate doesn't read what she types, sometimes. LOL

There is has been quite a bit of speculation about the private chef ... but, it's another one of those things that we'll never know for sure.

Here's what I think:

Kate doesn't use recipes? Calling foul on that one. She has been seen using recipe cards on the show. Now, to be fair ... those may be the only recipes she uses and the rest of the time she wings it. Also, most of her recipes are the kinds of things seen in magazines, etc. They're not terribly creative or Kate-invented.

I don't know that I believe they have a private chef. I think they have craft services fairly often, and I would imagine there are leftovers to be had .. I'd like to think Kate & Jon cook for the kids on their off days. Surely they do.

The hair looks pretty bad, I was thinking maybe she is trying to grow her hair out.

I'm going to try to keep up with this new thread. We'll see if I can.

I feel so bad for PennMommy. I can't even imagine the grief she is going through right now.

As for the People article. Wow, just wow. IMHO I think Kate likes "babies" more than children. So, to her, adopting would bring another baby into their lives. It would also keep the show going after the kids are all in school. Just my thoughts.

Still haven't watched the FAQ. When I saw the description I thought it was a rerun. Oh well.

I know a family at my church that has five children and I remember the mom claiming how much she loved the baby years and kept having children for that reason. That being said, they are a fine family and all the children are amazing.

I'm sure that Jon and Kate would do a good job raising another child, and they don't strike me as the type that would make rash decisions.:santa:

Anyone, just see all of the boxes piled up in the garage when Jon went in there to pump up the soccer ball???????!!!!!!!

this episode was filmed in October - it wasn't too much longer after that they moved. I'd say those were for packing.

not sure. I'd have to check the pity blogs... it's been fairly recent, I think? w/in the last 2 months? this episode was taped in October.

best as I can tell, they moved into the new house about a month ago.

If you check out zillow according to this the house does not list that it has been sold yet. But zillow is always a few months behind tooo!!!!!

I really did not enjoy tonight's episode, except for a couple of cute comments by the little kids, it was too much whining/bickering for me!! ;)

I never thought I'd say this, but bring back the trip episodes!! :lmao:

apparently, it's been bought by a trust (not uncommon) and shows up on Berks County property tax searches ... not sure yet if those are public or realtor-only type sites, though. (info courtesy of GWOP)
