I'm not sure I get that. I mean, I get where people  about them writing a book. Because if Kate's true intent for writing the book with Beth was to preserve memories for her children, why publish it? Write it privately for your children and be done with it.

I don't think that's how Kate rolls, though ... and I don't think that's the intent of the book. I think someone (Kate, Beth, Jon, TLC, Zondervan .. whoever) felt like the Gosselin story would make a compelling book and sold the idea.

I thought there might be some drama with buying the book at Wal-Mart or something. LOL

My point was that if Kate was trying to make even more money by selling their story in book form, then yes, I also contributed to her with my credit card as well.

I could be wrong but Hannah's lollipop looked different than the others. Her's looked like a blow-pop which have gum inside. GMA had the lollipops, so perhaps Hannah picked one that was different. If it was a blow-pop then it wouldn't be as sticky as the carmel ones. :confused3
hmmm .. maybe. I don't know, though. Kate had the paper saved, as if she was intentionally planning to save hers. There was no offer to save anyone else's that I saw.

I thought in a past episode Kate said the book was Beth's idea.:confused3

She probably was intentionally planning on saving hers and that is why she kept the paper. My kids save the paper for blow-pops for later if they can't finish the lollipop because they have gum inside.

Watch the episode again if you can, Hannah's was ball shaped while the others were not. Maybe Hannah was extra good or didn't get any on herself and that was her reward.

I also noticed that Mady still got to have hers after the little kids had to give them up. I assume it is because Mady and Cara are old enough not to make a big mess.

Now we have lollipop gate. :lmao:

Watch the episode again if you can,

I might DVR it, but Rudolph is on tomorrow night ... and I'd much rather watch that!!! :santa:

to be honest, I'm surprised Kate allowed the kids to have the GMA lollipops, since she'd brought her own organic treats for the children. I wasn't expecting to see the kids having the caramel apple lollipops, LOL.

TSW has been around the JK8 threads forever. Her comments don't stir the pot .. not like mine do :upsidedow

:rotfl: I'm not mean and offensive? Darn!! :lmao: Sometimes people like to rehash the same arguments. It's ok. Keeps the thread bumped and new people joining the cult.

I knew this thread would be jumping this morning. :lmao:

I laughed and laughed when Hannah told Jon "Those aren't yellow cars, they are taxi's". Too cute and so Hannah.

I hope Jon and Kate sell so many books and make so much money that they don't know what to do with it all. I wish them continued success.

Has your sidebar always said Oklahoma?!?!

I think when someone is in the spot lite, publishers convince thier publicist to get them to write a book.

Look at Brett Favre. When he was in Green Bay, he wrote 3 books, his wife wrote one and even his mom wrote one.

I wonder what is next.

I laughed over Kara or Maddie's story. One of them said, she told her class she was going to go see Oprah! Her class thought she was going to the Opera. They really dragged that episode out, and they didn't have any footage of them with Oprah. I wonder why. I didn't see the episode yet, but I wonder if Oprah acted "indifferent" to Kate. Kate's comment was, "I wish Oprah could spend a day with them, and come visit them."

Anyone remember them on Oprah?

The Oprah show was sometime last year. They were on only for a few minutes, not the full hour. When I first saw the JK8 episode I was surprised they didn't have footage with Oprah, but maybe Oprah's production company wouldn't let their crew tape O and O wouldn't give them footage? :confused3 Just a thought. I don't know how it all works with one show being on another show.

Haven't posted here for a long time..but my theory on the lollipop. Maybe the wrapper was saved due to the gum. We all know how Kate gets with the gum so I thought maybe it was saved so once she got to the gum part she could take it and wrap it up to dispose of later? Just my thoughts on it..could be all wrong.

Being the sheeple that I am (plus the fact that I DVR Oprah), I did see that show.

Oprah was very nice to them although she was a little overwhelmed with 6 little kids on the stage. She looked like she had a good time though. There didn't appear to be any friction between Oprah and Kate. I do remember Jon telling one of the boys to behave and the boy saying "Daddy's mean!" Oprah defended Jon by saying "Daddy's not mean!" (Unless that was when they were on Martha Stewart ...)

Yes, I thought that "Oprah/Opera" comment was funny.

they weren't on long .. and apparently Oprah did not give them anything (like Ellen gave them bikes). I got the impression they thought they'd get more out of the appearance. I don't specifically remember Oprah's reaction to them, though.

now that Oprah owns the Discovery network, they could re-edit that episode to show footage from the show.

I agree that this episode was a rather boring one. This was when they went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway, yet it wasn't even mentioned. I would have loved to see the kids reaction to a Broadway show, even if they weren't allowed to bring the cameras in. I remember going to shows when I was little and we would sing the songs all the way back to the train station.

Oh, goodness! If you remember (or maybe not, as I have no idea who was on the old thread), sheeple was originally a term used by our friends who are anti-Gosselin who couldn't comprehend why some of us don't hate Kate. Is that ok for them to use it? Just clear up the rules for me so I don't offend you.

I hate that term regardless of which group it is used for. It reminds me of children that argue with one another, but can't think of anything else to say so they start using hurtful words over and over. Just because I enjoy the show doesn't mean I am in the Kate cult that some people believe exists. I wouldn't mind if they never showed Kate again on the show. I watch for the kids.

why did Kate make a point of saving only Hannah's lollipop for later?

The other kids had those Charms candy apple pops. They are sticky messes. You would not be able to wrap those and save them for later. You probably couldn't get the wrapper off again. Some things seem to bother viewers a lot more than they seem to bother the kids. Nobody seemed to care that the lollipops were taken. Cara shared hers with Alexis (or was it Leah) later on the bus.

Hey JK8ers and H8ers!!

Just wanted to say hey since I have wireless for about 23 more hours here at SoG. We went to Wilderness Lodge today. I had only seen it on the Disney episode, so it was fun to see it in person!!

I wouldn't mind if they never showed Kate again on the show. I watch for the kids.

Never will happen. You know why? Then the title wouldn't rhyme!!

I told my friend Kevin I would marry him, so we could have septuplets and start "Jess and Kevin Plus 7!!" :rotfl: He wasn't amused at the thought of having seven babies. Didn't turn down the thought of marriage, though...;)

I just watched the NYC book tour episode...

it was cool getting to see the kids play in the park but all the footage of them promoting the book was really boring to me.. I'd much rather see them on trips and doing fun things and see the kids more than kate or jon alone.

anyway.. what I mostly wanted to say though (and am surprised no one mentioned this) is that kate is looking FANTASTIC! Is it me or did she lose weight? Maybe she's wearing clothes that flatter her figure more but I thought she looked really great in this episode.. loved her outfits too (though I think she should change her hairstyle - not that my opinion matters). Anyway.. anyone else think she lost some weight?

I think they both are trimmer.

I think it's time for her to do something about the hair, though. The bangs are funky long. IMO.

I agree. Her bangs have been annoying me for awhile. I like how she had when they went to Disney, which ever season that was. Her bangs I think were a little long but not so much in her face.
