I can't believe the kids will still wear the bibs. My 16 month old started pulling his off around 7 or 8 months and just won't leave it on.

I'm sure they have the money now to buy a bigger home, but they had to. They have people knocking on the door wanting to see the kids, take pictures. I'm sure "safety" was a big issue. I would freak out if people came to my home. I know a family that got a new home from Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Dundee Wisconsin. It freaked her out, when people would walk into the back yard randomly for pictures. She had to put up a privacy fence.

It surprises me, that they want to keep doing the show. But if their new home location doesn't get revealed, they will probably be okay, but with the power of the internet, it probably won't remain a secret to long. But I"m sure they are in a gated area.

Seriously, I was annoyed with all the whining and crying.

Ok....they are 4, LOSE THE BIBS!!
lose the bibs, lose the high chairs, lose the naps .. (I'm sure Kate needs them to have a nap, so that one may be debatable .. LOL)

it's in Berks County, Pa. People/the internet already know where it is. LOL. And if they film episodes there, it really isn't any more private than where they are now. KWIM?

great link

I was thinking that Jon's dad died before the 6 were born, but I see they were 8 months old
I'm glad his dad was able to see the babies

Its fun to go and look at the photo section at various points from their old website. I noticed two photos of elderly people holding one of the 'tups and one of the files was called "grandma." And one one of the links I clicked on for 2006 they talked about the organic farm, going for ice cream and then going the playground, going to Dutch wonderland. So it seems that some of the things we've seen on the show are things that they have done in the past before the show was started.

I thought there were parts of the show tonight that were cute. Mady definitely likes to control things.

I agree that Kate should cut her bangs. Her hair looked a lot better in the re-run than the new one.

And I'm sure next week is just a "damage-control" episode since they go to a children's hospital to hand out presents.

My kids didn't take daily naps at 4 either, but if I had 6 of them I might hang on to naps as long as I could!!!

My girls would fall asleep if they were tired up to about 6 years old...you would find them in random spots around the house asleep!!

I'm with you on the high chairs too....they are too big for them...

this episode was filmed in October - it wasn't too much longer after that they moved. I'd say those were for packing.

Maybe, or we know they don't always show episodes in order. It could be the things they were getting ready for the garage sale

Kate said it was October. She said the kids were wearing shorts in October, and they were wearing shorts in that episode. The only thing that makes me think it was filmed earlier was Kate's hair. It wasn't as long.

Mady (or Cara? LOL) was helping one of the boys out of their seat, and he was almost as big as his sister. I mean, really. They aren't babies or even toddlers anymore. Do they sit in the buggy seat at the store, too?

My son still took naps at age 4. That was my favorite time of the day!!!

And here is my thought on the high chairs. Yes, they are too old for them. However, they probably take up less room, because it appears they can be pushed under the table, or at least closer than a regular chair, plus, they are smaller than regular chairs, and they might not be able to fit enough regular chairs around the table.

My thought, if it works, and doesn't bother them, why not keep using them?

DS is only about 3 mos older than the 'tups and until a couple of months ago, we were still using a high chair when we went out to eat. But one night, he insisted on sitting in a regular chair, so we've just used a booser since then. At home, he has what we call a convertible booster. It comes with a tray and straps to hold the kid in, but once they get big enough, you can remove the straps and just push it up to the table like a regular chair w/o the tray on.

:thumbsup2

I noticed the same thing. They barely had room for 3 highchairs and a chair on each side of the table.
It appears to be a table for 6. There just is no way to get 10 chairs around that table.

As for the naps.....My kids didn't nap past 3-3.5 or so but I have known kids that nap right up until they start school and the parents are worried the kid won't make it through the day without one.

When was the yard sale?

Almost as big as the twins...are you seious? I was noticing how small most of them still seem for their age. I also remember when they were talking about clothing sizes (Hawaii I believe when Jon was shopping for the boys shirts) that all but one was in small sizes for their age.
If I remember correctly they said one was in a 3, 4 in 4s and one of the girls wears a 5.

.

Benches would probably be a good option. I'm a Kate supporter, but seriously they are way too old to be sitting in high chairs and wearing bibs.

My kids boycotted high chairs at about 2 years old....but then again I didn't have 6 of them!!

we use a bench. takes up no room at all. slides right under the table.

these children are old enough to eat like people. No straw cups, high chairs, or bibs. What do they do a school? The same thing? I doubt it. They are 4+ years old. Baby days are over.

no idea. After Hawaii, before the move. October?

I am absolutely serious. Whichever boy it was came up to his sister's chin. And she had a little trouble maneuvering him out of the chair. I was surprised at his size compared to his sister.

I agree, my kids went to preschool at 3 like I think a lot of kids do, and none of the kids in the school used bibs, sippy cups or highchairs for lunch or snack...just think how much easier your life gets when your kids can wash their own hands, carry their plates and cups from the counter to the table, and get into their own seat! Then after the meal, every four year old can throw their paper plate into the garbage and put their cup in the sink! Just trying to help Kate out here! ;)

Actually it kind of reminded me of a preschool class when poor Mady was trying to do the craft with the little kids! They really did not want to listen to her!

While I do agree that they look a little big for high chairs, and the bib thing seems a little rediculous, if it works for them then it's fine by me. As far as them sitting in the buggy seat at the store; my DS usually still sat in the buggy seat at age 4. I liked having him confined to a seat :rotfl: Although, I'm sure there's no way they're able to do that with 6. There were still times he used a sippy cup or a cup with a straw when he was 4 too. My DN is 6 and still uses a sippy cup- I think it's rediculous, but again not my child.

I only watched about half of last night's show - but the one thing that stood out at me (hold on to your hats ... :lmao: ) is that this was a show that was all about the edit. I don't think that it was particularly flattering to any of the kids or Jon & Kate. Honestly, it seemed like the girls were forced to act out the "mommy" thing, like it was someone else's idea. The episode, in parts, seemed staged. The children were much happier when they were running around in the backyard, I thought.
