Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

That's good news...I'm glad that lovely building will be repurposed for something other than an AP processing center.

So is Blue Ribbon going away forever? I thought it was just moving but it probably doesn't make sense to have two large bakeries that close together. I'm interested to see what they come up with.

Blue Ribbon will be going away and Carnation Cafe will now have indoor seating!

Love the name for the new bakery. Course I am a huge Mary fan.
As for the Carnation Cafe...they need the space. In the short time it took us to eat there(maybe 45 minutes) we saw people drop things 3 different times because of the cramped quarters.

Exciting changes! But now where are the putting the AP center? :confused3 They keep moving it.

Carnation Cafe used to have indoor seating, many years ago - and the whole indoor portion of the seating was cut off during that massive makeover of DLR in the late '90s (which ultimately produced DCA, the GCH, DTD, and the loss of a large chunk of the Disneyland Hotel's property, shops and restaurants). There was indoor seating and outdoor seating, and a much more extensive menu, with burgers, more sandwiches, more entrees (like a pasta dish and some other stuff), milkshakes and different types of sundaes, etc.

So this expansion is actually just going to be Carnation Cafe reclaiming the space they used to occupy. I always thought it was a terrible idea to hack off that whole indoor portion of the restaurant, and, as we can all see now, that place sorely needs extra seating. I like Blue Ribbon, but Carnation Cafe needs more tables.

I am looking forward to the re-expansion and am hoping that the CC menu once again becomes expanded right along with it!

I'm very happy with the Carnation reclaming their space as well! I remember when it had the tables inside and out. Even the outside seemed bigger back then.
Can't wait to see the finished product! I remember by favorite sundae was the Snow White with marshmellow topping... YUMM!

Gibson Girl and Candy Palace are also gaining space.

Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and the Candy Palace display kitchen will also be gaining additional space. The newly reconfigured ice cream parlor will create more room for guests purchasing the extremely popular hand-dipped cones, and a larger Candy Palace kitchen will allow even more guests to view magical sweet treats as they are created. These locations will close in January 2012 and re-open in the spring.

I hope it's finished in time for our trip!

What great news! I'm glad that Carnation Cafe' is being enlarged & will be regaining its indoor seating; I remember it from before it was outdoor seating only & when they had the more extensive menu (and the variety of sundaes ). I hope that now with the indoor seating it will be open for dinner again.

Also excited to see the Plaza Pavilion return to a food service area...I think a Mary Poppins theme is an excellent fit for the location & can't wait to see it when it opens.

Now, if they'd only bring back the Tahitian Terrace...or at least put *some* fabulously themed table service restaurant in the unused area...

So wait that Plaza thing that is turning into the bakery, isn't that where Minnie's character breakfast is? Are they taking that away? I am confused.

You are thinking of Plaza Inn, which is to the right when you enter from Main Street. Plaza Pavilion is to the left. :)

I bet your right. With the ways Disney has been diversifying menus, it will probably happen on Main Street too.

With the uptick in visits that could happen.

Very interesting and informative information all around. Gracias!

I believe that the Plaza Pavilion (soon to be Jolly Holiday hooray!) shares a kitchen with Tahitian Terrace. Hopefully once they're using the kitchen they will be more inclined to bring back the TT.

Exactly where was the Tahitian Terrace? I'm picturing it  behind the Aladdin meet & greet?
