I totally agree. Let's face it - the whole DL experience is an exercise in suspending reality. There is a giant bipedal mouse walking around dancing and carrying on. And as far as I can tell, to date, all Disney has confirmed is the name of the place. I just can't see getting all worked up over it.

When I first read the proposed name for the new bakery, my thought was that is fine for holiday time, but what about the rest of the year? I like the name in and of itself. However for a permanent name, I don't care for it actually. It does not make any sense, Mary Poppins or not. I can easily come up with many a name for this new business. Not that anyone at Disney cares, I am sure. Oh well......

4. I am happy that Gibson Girl and Candy Palace are expanding. I hope the Penny Arcade somehow remains intact. We need Esmeralda to stay put.

Hi Ricardo – The Penny Arcade will close briefly as part of this project, but it will reopen in the spring along with Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and the Candy Palace.

Here's hoping that really means intact. At the least, "briefly" sounds to me like they won't have time to do too much damage?

I do remember back when they did the LAST rehab that kind of mingled the candy shop and the Penny Arcade....if I recall correctly, Al was on his old site, predicting doom and horrors for the Penny Arcade. Compared to his predictions, the outcome didn't seem so bad.

(As for the name, I don't care much...I'm afraid I called the old one the Bakery and will call the new one...the Bakery.)
