Well there are many people (famous and not) who have a marriage of convenience and/or are married just for status, benefits, children, etc.

I think though when you are a public figure, and you make your living off of your "persona", the public may feel duped and feel they may have the right to find out the truth when you are possibly pretending to be something you clearly are not.

Clinton was a well known hound dog and the media covered for him. The same with Edwards. I was pointing out how men do stupid things for stupid reasons.

I guess you forgot about Paula Jones. Didn't she claim Clinton's sexual advances were unwanted?

I have family who are old Little Rock, so to speak. One of these family members told me that no one believed Paula Jones because it was known that Bill never went looking for any, but if a woman threw herself at him, Bill would be right there to catch her .

So Bill was quite different from Edwards and also from Vitter. (Oh my!)

I can't help feeling that this post is 1) political and 2) not analguous to the John Travolta situation. Weren't both those scandals consensual and heterosexual relationships? I can think of several other politicials who've been caught in situations much more comparable to what John Travolta has been accused of.

The accusations against Travolta involve more than infidelity; if true, there are unwanted sexual advances/molestation and years of hiding his sexual orientation.

I disagree. This isn't political or about gay or straight. They were just pointing out a few examples of powerful men who took some serious (and stupid) risks for a little hanky panky. We've all wondered why they do these things and to me the answer is simple; they think they are above reproach. It's about the power trip.

The rumours I've always heard about Jada and Will were. Well. That they were happily married because they both knew how share, so to speak. I never figured that marriage would last forever. Those kinds things usually wind up with someone's feelings hurt badly. . .

No, Nicole Kidman is not a scientologist and neither is Keith Urban. She was to smart to get drug into it.

Nicole only did Sci because Tom made her. As soon as she divorced him, she renounced it, saying she never was. But, as you said, the church doesn't let one leave easily. She lost her kids she had with Tom because of it. Reports are that Tom won't let her see them. And that the kids no longer want to see her as she's no longer a Sci.

You never see any pictures of her after the divorce with the kids, only with Keith and her new kids. Meanwhile, Tom has been parading their kids everywhere along with Suri & Katie.

Nicole is actually Catholic. I don't know if Keith is or not though. As for the kids with Tom, she says she sees them a lot but they just prefer the West Cost with Tom. I think 1 of them is a legal adult now anyway. I saw pics of Connor as a DJ in some magazine.

I read an article several years that stated Nicole turned away from Scientology and back to her Catholic faith. Tom said, "Go".
