John Travolta Scandal

There is just something wrong with this. It makes my skin crawl.

Barf!!

It took me a minute to realize that was him. At first he looked like whoever that guy is that just divorced Jeni Garth. I can't remember his name, apparently he was in one of the twilight movies but I have no idea for sure because those aren't my thing.

A big, ceramic bowl.

:scratchin Interesting. . . I went to look for a video clip or a picture of it from the movie. There are a LOT of references to the scene, but not a single pic or video clip. Me thinks TC made sure none could be found on line.

Well, you know whats funny? I went through and looked thought both the OLD Suri thread, and the NEW(er) Sci 101 thread. A LOT - and I mean ooooodles, are dead.

But some of the Sci YouTube links (one was a segment of that crazy psycho Tom LAUGHHHING one) they had the "real" people ("Suddenly, I just GOT it! It was like WOW! Bam! - remember those?)

Annnnnyways - the ones of Katie that ppl had posted - GONE! They'd be part of those other ones like 4 of 10 and 7 of 10 - and alll the rest of them are there, the everyday people - but hers? Gone.

Yeah, too bad it didn't help them get the kid any intervention or assistance while he was alive. As they refused to acknowledge he was autistic his entire life, though it was patently obvious, and rumours had it he spent all his time basically locked in the basement watching tv and eating whatever... yeah, Preston, touching.

How do you know all that? Because he didn't go on Oprah and every talk show to talk about it? Because he didn't parade Jett publicly to show strangers what great parents they were? because Jett wasn't on movie premiers (great place for an autistic child. we all know how much they love mobs and flasbulbs). Some people want to keep stuff private. That is their right. The "rumors" that he spent his whole life locked up in a room watching tv. Where did those "rumors" came from?

I saw many pictures of Jett throughout his life. I particularly remember one where he was walking with his mom, and she had her arm around him. The picture was posted and everyone started dissecting it "oh look at him, the look on his face" "look at the vacant smile" "look at the way he is possitioning his arm, typical autistic". Don't you think that perhaps they wanted to avoid perfect strangers discussing their son like that?

Like I said, I saw several pictures of Jett. All of them looked to be taken with telescopic lenses on their private family moments. he seemed loving and loved. andi in ALL of them he was holding close to either parent. SMILING. ALWAYS SMILING

When he died it was on an island close to Florida (can't remember which) the family had flown there to give a big party for family and friends. And Jett WAS there.

I guess that was the one an only time they didn't left him at the basemant, watching tv

You think that picture is creepy....there are two others floating around on the internet (sorry I don't know how to paste them here:eek:) that are worse. One shows him sticking his tongue out between his fingers and the other shows him with the two blondes in a more "intimate" pose  Yuck and double yuck. That's one movie I won't be watching!!

I googled the pics and turns out, there are TWO pistols aimed right at his, um, business ;) risky business indeed!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I googled 'Rock of Ages' the movie, and I'm pretty sure it is a comedy-he's playing an 80's character. I think it's tounge-in-cheek. Actually, the movie sounds hilarious, if you came up in the 80's on hair metal like I did :rotfl:

I wish they were real and would go off. That might shut him up..... for now. It'd probably grow back, after an audit, though. Like an alien gecko's tail.

How do I know all what? That he was autistic? That they consistantly not only denied it but claimed he had that syndrome that made no earthly sense? That there were rumours that he spent most of his time basically in a room doing nothing and had no intervention?

Their kids, like most of these peoples' kids, are not educated in the traditional sense, they're sent to a scientology center or homeschooled by scientology teachers. As scientology refuses to acknowledge the existance of autism, it seems fairly unlikely that he received any proper educational interventions.

I'm sure he had a lot of auditing.

The stuff about how he lived was mostly from people who seemed to have some reason to know. No one said they never took him anyplace but if your neighbour had an autistic child and just did... nothing much about it, got him no therapy but people said well, the occasional times I've seen him out with a parent clutching him, he seemed to be smiling, would that alleviate any concerns?

Oh please. You know nothing about these people's private lives except for what you read in the checkout stand. To insinuate that you have some sort of insight into how the Travoltas dealt with their sons's disability makes you sound delusional or fanatical. FTR, JT did admit that Jett had autism during the trial involving extortion surrounding Jett's death.

In CornFlake's defense, (IMO) that was only admitted as he was in a trial. Priot to that so many Autism groups were REALLY upset with the Travolta's for never helping their cause, or even admitting he had anything wrong with him (But Kawasaki disease)

Lemme get some links.

Here's one basically saying just what I said in that previous post - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-watkins/jett-travoltas-autism-con_b_214992.html

(It's hard to find the articles prior to his death, after the admission of autism, because when he did admit such - it was HUGE news, but here's one I could C&P)

Tim and Patricia Kenny, proud parents of a 4 year-old autistic girl, believe that it might be time for Child Protective Services to look into John Travolta and wife Kelly's negligence in acknowledging their son Jett's reported autism.

"I don't think it's a stretch to call their treatment of Jett child abuse," Ocala, Florida restaurant manager Tim Kenny tells Hollywood, Interrupted. Kenny claims he met Travolta at his restaurant in February, and, after "comping" the movie star and his daughter a meal per restaurant policy for celebrities, he asked him, "as one autistic child's father to another," if he "was doing anything special in terms of therapy" for Jett. Aghast, Travolta responded, "Well, we involve him in the arts." Then, he offered to send Kenny a book, and high-tailed it out of the restaurant.

"If I ever received a Scientology book from him [Travolta], I'd find him, and throw it back at him," says Kenny. "Scientology is keeping him from acknowledging his son's autism. They see it as a weakness. That's what the space aliens are telling him I guess."

Militant Mama Kelly at a
Scientology hate march
Joking aside, the Kennys are "disgusted by" Travolta. They claim that Travolta has turned down invitations to participate in autism fundraisers, and most recently refused to participate in a local celebrity golf tournament if a connection to autism advocacy was promoted. The organizers of the charity tournament scheduled at the Golden Hills Country Club in November are alleged to have changed the billing from an autism event to the more generic "fundraiser for disabled children" to accommodate the star. Calls to event organizer, the Family Resources Coalition, were not returned by post time.

The Kennys also claim that Kelly and John "let Jett sit in front of video games all day eating junk food, while they eat the best organic food money can buy. They exclude Jett from all social events because they are embarrassed."

Lemme keep looking.

"people who who seemed to hhave reason to know"? who are these people, and why is their word sacred? And yes, saying that he lived in a basemant watching tv is saying he spen't his time alone, iow, dodn't take him places with them.

I'm not an expert on autistic chidren, but I think I can say that they are honest. They don't pretend what they don't feel; also, I believe they don't give their trust to just anyone, in fact, that's a priviledge for only a few in their lives. The way Jett acted so lovingly towards his parents, and the way he smiled led me to belive he felt safe, secure and loved. I haven't seen any evidence of the opposite being true, so why should we believe the worst about them?

Travolta son's diagnosis:
Science vs. Scientology?

John Travolta and Kelly Preston

John Travolta and Kelly Preston are raising their son, Jett, as a good Scientologist, but some wonder if the 14-year-old is the worse for it.
The Travoltas have said Jett suffers from Kawasaki syndrome, an illness characterized by high *fever, painful rash and lymph-node swelling. Preston has said they've traced the disability to "environmental toxins," specifically carpet-cleaning chemicals.

Three years ago, she told Montel Williams how she put Jett on a detox regimen based on the writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Within a few months, she said, "He ended up getting better," but still "has lots of allergies." Cat: This article was from 2008

Others suspect Jett may suffer from something more serious — autism.

According to HollywoodInterrupted.com's Mark Ebner, that diagnosis has been corroborated by "no less than five sources (including a media rep from the Autism Society of America, an executive from Cure Autism Now, a major Hollywood producer and parent of an autistic child, and a Hollywood actor-parent)." Officials at two autism groups declined to discuss Jett's condition when we called yesterday.

If Jett is autistic, CultNews.com's Rick Ross suggests, Travolta and Preston may not have sought treatment because Jett "would have go to psychiatrists, and that would be contrary to the teachings of Hubbard." As it happens, Travolta's brother, Joey, has produced a new documentary about autism, "Normal People Scare Me," co-directed by high-functioning autistic teenager Taylor Cross and his mother, Keri Bowers.

Joey, a former special-ed teacher, initially agreed to talk to us, but didn't return calls by deadline. Nor did reps for Travolta or the Church of Scientology.

While Sylvester Stallone, Dan Marino and Doug Flutie, who have autistic children, have long championed research, a source told Ebner, "John Travolta has so far done nothing to help raise awareness about autism."

ANd another:

Rumors about Jett Travolta’s disability have been floating around for years, but when no less than five sources (including a media rep from the Autism Society of America (ASA), an executive from Cure Autism Now, a major Hollywood producer and parent of an autistic child, and a Hollywood actor-parent) reported that Jett Travolta was afflicted did we decide to deliver this story. Scientology will not even recognize the disability, let alone the myriad therapies for treating it. The CAN and ASA officials that spoke with Hollywood, Interrupted credited Sylvester Stallone and former pro football greats Doug Flutie and Dan Marino as celebrity parents of children with autism that have helped raise awareness of the malady. These celebs reportedly share their frustration with what they perceive as Travolta’s “denial” stemming from Scientology’s rabid hatred of psychiatry and judgment of those with psychological problems as lesser humans responsible for their own maladies. The Hollywood actor interviewed describes having autism as “like being trapped within yourself, and having difficulty letting normal people know who you really are.” Now, imagine being trapped inside a mind-control cult that prohibits you from availing your child to the treatment available. No wonder Scientology has long been plagued by suicides, and wrongful deaths. The movie producer that spoke with Hollywood, Interrupted reports: “Kelly Preston, in her heart, wants to do the right thing for her son.” “I bet it rips her heart out,” says the actor. “But,” says the producer, “John Travolta has so far, done nothing to help raise awareness about autism.” Tragically, Scientology does nasty things to the heart. “And to the other families who are being torn apart by this disorder,” sighs the actor. “Let me know if I can help you appeal to his heart.” Hollywood, Interrupted believes that you may have done just that.

Like I said before, they didn't owe anyone, not even autism groups any explanations of how they lived their lives. Everyone, even celebrities, have a right to their privacy.

And I wanted to throw this out there.

I didn't live their life. I don't know how or what they did or did not do, to treat Jett, and I won't act like I do.

But what I do know is this: On Jett's official cause of death, it lists seizure disorder.

And this (you don't even have to watch, the video is silly - just listen) is L. Ron Hubbard's thoughts on epilepsy. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvqItYgRHb8

But they did explain in 2005:

As CR said, it's not as if they simply said 'we don't discuss our children' or something. They very specificaly denied that he was autistic and claimed, repeatedly, in magazines and apparently on tv shows, that he had this other syndrome, which was nonsensical as a claim, yet they persisted.

Maybe he did have another syndrome, plus the autism :confused3

So they told this or that to the media. Were they wrong doing that? Maybe. But to go from there, to claim to know what kind of treatment Jett did or didn't have, or that he lived his life locked up in a basement... that's a huge, HUGE leap

He didn't have that syndrome.

I'm not claiming to know what treatment he had or didn't - I'm saying given they refused to acknowledge he was autistic to begin with, he was in no public schooling and that any schooling he got would, by its nature not acknowledge the existance of autism either, seems, you know, kind of logical that he didn't get educational interventions.

The other stuff I identified as longstanding rumours, which they were. The stuff was said by people who were close to the family. You can believe it or not but it's not like we're making up random things.

The kid was autistic, they denied that his entire life. He was rarely seen (yes, pictures of him got wide play, precisely because there were so few and because of his condition and their denial of such). This was all very mainstream - I don't have any particular interest in or care about Travolta or Preston. It, like the gay thing and his trolling bathhouses and massage parlours has been around for years. It's gossip yes; it might alll be false. Rarely turns out that way when it's quite that pervasive and multi-sourced but who the heck knows or cares.

I wouldn't be surprised if, allegedly, the church was spreading the rumors themselves. Not surprised in the least.

If you want to hear from someone who was part of the church for the majority of their life and is speaking out against the church, look up ToryMagoo44 on you tube or google her name. She speaks about JT(although she doesn't say much) and auditing him herself.
