No I said if it were the other way around and it were a regular person confronting McCain and asking him tough questions, the Repubs would say it was a plant. I know thats where he lives, but he did chose to go over and confront Obama, no one made him.

And if he wants to buy the business as he professed then he does need to be lisenced.

You do realize that licensing fees cost money, right? So why spend that money before you actually need to?

Joe the Plumber doesn't matter, except as a symbol. In spite of the media's insistence that Obama is a new kind of politician, he's the same old tax and spend liberal we've seen a thousand times over.

If the liberals on here think spreading the wealth around is a great idea, why stop at raising the tax rate on $250,000+ to 39%. Why not 50%. Or 80%? Why $250,000 as the threshold? It could be much lower than that.

That would really spread the wealth around. So, why not really make an impact?

He doesn't need one for the type of work he does. What difference does it make anyway. He can buy a company without being a plumber. That's how you create jobs, you HIRE people to work for you.

This is unbelievable. He's a regular citizen. It's just incredibly pathetic, for any party...and it makes me even more sad that it's mine doing it!

An ordinary citizen who put himself in the public eye. Of course, he may not have seen the TV reporters carrying those big commercial shoulder cams, or the boom microphone that was making a shadow over his face.

Of course he'd need the proper licenses, when he bought the business. He hasn't bought it yet, but you'd want him to do it, and spend the money, before he actually need to.

A government could impose taxes with the purpose of, say, paying expenses, maybe? Or had that thought not occurred to you?

that does not mean that everyone needs to be financially equal...

I intimated he could be a plant.

This reminds me of the Republicans trying to deflect the "gotcha" moment when Palin answered (poorly) a question by a regular person in a coffee shop. McCain and Palin sat together with Katie Couric and tried to spin it that it was a"gotcha" moment cooked up by the MSM.

I'M saying, if it worked for them, why not for the Dems too? Sounds silly now doesn't it?

It isn't as simple as just "buying a license." There are tests to pass for certification, it takes time. You can't just buy a business, then worry about the licenses. If he was as close to buying, as he implies to Obama, then he should have been licensed.

Aloo in most states, the individual actually performing the work, as far as electrical or plumbing, has to have some type of license or certification that is public record.

I am glad I finally got to see the full video of "Joe"'s conversation with Obama instead of just a small clip.
I think Obama gave "Joe " a very informed answer.

Even though Obama did use the words "spread the wealth around" I think of the 4% proposed tax increase for those of us making over $250,000 a year as a why to help make the middle class stronger so the middle class can make more puchases ....thus helping to grow businesses.

If paying a 4% increase (39% instead of 35% which was the amount we paid before the Buch tax cut) will the middle class get a tax cut and help our economy grow stronger than we will be willing to pay it.

I know a lot of families here in Michigan that could a tax cut.

Just my 2 cents.
