Its all public record and for good reason. If you want to do business with someone, buy a house, or anything involving large amounts of money, you should absolutely be able to look things like this up.

Then uhhh, don't wait until a lien is necessary before you pay your taxes. Judgments and liens are public record. As are (in most states) driving records, car registrations, voter registrations, property deeds. Almost anything on file at the courthouse is a public record. Do you think it shouldn't be?

He doesn't need one for the type of work he does. What difference does it make anyway. He can buy a company without being a plumber. That's how you create jobs, you HIRE people to work for you.
