A few things: Piglet, I'm so glad that Charlotte is adjusting well and you're home where you can finally settle into a routine. Don't forget that T-Man pointed out an extra 40% baby Disney clothing at the
Disney Store! I can't wait to see your baby piglet, bet she's more precious than words can describe. Too bad you can't pass her around for all of us to hold, how I miss holding babies!!!
Mare- You crack me up. You're seriously good stuff and always the voice of reason- even when you get punchy. Thank you for many of your comments.
WDW in Pearls- I don't think most of us here are thirsty for death for JA, but due to the events that happened then and now, almost everybody wants her freedoms to be taken from her. Jodi adapts well to any situation that she's in and without doubt probably finds a lot of positives in jail and the lack of clothing changes, cramped quarters and a few other things are just minor inconviences. She's made friends, she's still living a life. Her narcissim, defiant attitude, inability to apologize or feel remorse lends to the strong dislike for her. She has somehow maintained control throughout this whole thing and needs to be knocked down. Plus, the whole sentencing a person to death isn't a certainty when that's what the jury agrees to, appeals are in place to make sure things are kept fair.
WPack- The words that you spewed about the jury are vile. It's not the result any of us wanted, but none of us went off the deep end like you. The 4 jury members who were not for death should not have to worry about any threats or anything else. They did their job. There were three options, Life, Death and Unable to have an unanimous decision. You can't fault people for reasons you're unaware of. Religion, personal beliefs, or mitigating factors may have played a role in their decision and it is what is it. As so many have mentioned before, until you're in their shoes, you can't say for certain what you would do. Especially when they didn't have all the information that we had. I think you need to relax and maybe take a step away from the case for a while if it's going to fill you with such rage.
Ahhhh forgot who else I wanted to direct comments to (since I failed to quote anybody). I do believe it will be difficult to find a jury who hasn't been exposed to this case in one way or another. I also believe that there will possibly be potential jurors who will claim they know nothing even though they're completely invested. Hahaha, Perky Katie is going to end up on the jury!
The other thing that I thought about was the date that the new trial will pick up, July 18. Isn't Travis' birthday July 24 or 25? Wouldn't it be an amazing birthday present to him for the new jury to render a verdict that ends everything? The first half of the conviction has went well and I just have to hold out faith that what is meant to be, will be.
Last thing: Wild tweeted earlier about the Marlboro man walking to court this morning and he wanted to give him a ride. Juror 9 who left the courthouse on foot and was hounded by media was the marlboro man. Maybe he just needed to clear his head and not be around the other jurors, especially if he was very set in his decision and couldn't be swayed or couldn't sway somebody else. I pray that the entire panel of jurors are able to return to their lives and let things die down before they come out. I saw somebody on here who wanted blood for the holdouts, you know there are others like that in real life.
Okay, done. Hope everybody has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend (my favorite holiday!!!), release the stress with some drinks!
