Today I did my online cruise check-in for our Disney Honeymoon Cruise. Disney Cruise Line now offers the option to fill out all the check-in forms online to save time on the day of arrival. I did it and it was very simple and hassle-free. I am sure I will thank myself when the day comes to board the ship, because it will be a lot smoother without having to fill out all the forms when we arrive at Port Canaveral. I also planned one shore excursion for DH and me. Our first port of call will be Nassau, so I thought booking an excursion would be fun. I chose the Atlantis Aquaventure excursion. It is an eight hour event that will transport us to the famous Atlantis resort.
We will spend the day at the Atlantis Resort Aquaventure water park. We will be transported via an air-conditioned motor coach to Paradise Island. Once we arrive, we'll first go on a walking tour featuring overviews of Atlantis' famous aquarium, casinos, stores, and dining.
Next, it's onto Aquaventure. This 63 acre water park features water slides, water holes, special effects, 'river' rapids and water holes. There's the 120 foot tall Power Tower with 4 slides, and the Abyss which sends you on a near vertical 50 foot plunge through complete darkness into the pool below. Inner tubes will take you to The Drop, The Falls, The Surge and The Rapids. DH and I are big water park buffs. We love the Disney water parks, so we are anxious to compare the Atlantis Aquaventure to Disney.
Aside from the water park we will be able to enjoy the resort's sandy shores as well as the Royal Baths or Lazy River pools. There are also bike, kayak and snorkeling rentals available. The casinos offer slots, blackjack and craps. We can spend our winnings at the upscale shopping centers. An air-conditioned motor coach will take us back to port after our day at Atlantis. We are super excited. The excursion costs a pretty penny, but it is worth it, since we get to take advantage of all the amenities the Atlantis Resort has to offer. This is also the only excursion we are booking. When we port at Disneys Castaway Cay, we will be going with the flow. Enjoying the island at our leisure!
