UGH!!! What an exhausting day. I started cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms (including the floors which I hate and am out of Swiffers so I had to get on my hands and knees and scrub). Then I moved on to cleaning out toy boxes, closets, under beds (ICK!). I have a HUGE bag of trash and a big overflowing Rubbermaid container of give-aways. I haven't even ventured downstairs to do those toys but have made a huge dent in the crap that they have. YIPPEE!!

Drew's feeling better-No FEVER today! He's still pretty lazy which is great with me. He's played with his new Lego sets and laid around and watched movies (Wall-E, KungFoo Panda, Ice Age) so it's been a nice and productive day. Still raining and storming-I had Andy talked into going to Church this evening, but I'm sure he'll use this as an excuse not to go. He's hooking up the Wii right now, so the calm mood will soon change...

QOTD-We usually go to my SIL's and hang out with them and some of their friends and eat a bunch of really fattening appy's. It's kid friendly although the martini's do flow a bit...last year we had to spend the night but my BIL made apple pancakes for breakfast! YUM!!

What a wonderful day! There are lazy days that I feel guilty about and then there are days like today. After my DH came home from lunch, we played some new board games (Sorry Sliders and Clue Jr.) as a family. I got my behind kicked! My DH had to leave again to visit with his cousins. We were all going to go, buy my DD wanted to stay home. We're now watching Ice Age:The Meltdown and waiting for DH to come home again. I told him to stop at the movie store to rent us a movie for tonight. Any suggestions??

Hey all.

I'm on my way back from Pittsbuirgh and thought I would burn some time.

QOTD: DH's birthday is the 30th and my dad's birthday is the 31st. We used to have a party at my parents' house butdont any more. We just stay home and relax. DH bought an expensive bottle of champagne to celebrate with. Hopefully we will be awake long enough to ring in the new year. LOL

rainy and icky outside. We cashed in on the sales at Wal Mart and got some storage things for the tree and wrapping paper. The tree was to come down today - but has not yet.
I got zero reading in yesterday, please keep our family in your prayers... I am not one to go into personal details online... but we sure do need some happy vibes to make our vacation bright!

I have my planning books, some dvds etc to watch. I am at home alone tonight and it is very peaceful and quite! I kinda like doing nothing... and then I panic because there is so much to do.

As our spare room was cleaned for our guests... i was going to set up suitcases in there and start throwing the disney tote items in there. I am too stressed and upset i suppose to do much right now. It is 5:30 already, I need this stress headache to go away.

Hugs too all of you... you all are remarkable people and you need to know it.

Hey all - Just checking in to see if there is news about red's mom...

Hey there everyone. My mom went in for surgery this morning to put the stint in to get rid of the kidney stone. They were also going to try and drain her lungs and kindey at the same time. Her blood pressure started to fluctuate though, so they just put the stint in and stopped. So at least the kidneys can drain. She's on some good drugs apparently for the pain and for the pnuemonia. She will be in the hospital again tonight, possible moved from ICU to a regular room. It also sounds like she might be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. We'll have to watch her pretty closely if she comes home.

So tonight I'm going to take down all the Christmas decorations, which she wanted done before our trip, and clean clean clean.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. :flower3:

Here's one -
What do you do to celebrate New Year's? (assuming you're not lucky enough to already be in WDW!)

I hate going out in the cold. And we're not big drinkers or partiers. Typically, we cook up a bunch of appetizers, watch stupid TV, and call it a night. A coworker of mine is coming to join our "party" this year... and since we have a Wii and a PS3, we'll have plenty to do!

And a little pixie dust doesn't hurt either! pixiedust:

Well we made it up to 70 degrees today! That is pretty much unheard of in these parts in December. :rotfl: Crazy! And just earlier this week we had school delays because of record low temps!

Okay, it looks like we're going to do the DDP. So I now have more ADRs.

Here's my updated list:

1/27 Crystal Palace 8:20

1/28 Tusker Breakfast w/ Donald 8:10

1/29 Mama Melrose/Fantasmic pkg. 3:30

1/30 1900 Park Fare dinner 6:15

1/31 LeCellier 2:30

2/1 Ohana breakfast 8:30

Oh, does anyone have a recommendation for counter service at DHS? nothing looks all that fabulous.

That's because nothing there is all that fabulous! :lmao:

I love DHS, it's my favorite park, but the CS restaurants are really lacking there. I think we are going to go to Toy Story Pizza Planet.

Does anyone know if Chefs de France has been added to the DDP yet? I haven't had time to go looking and time is running out!

My thoughts and prayers will be with both of your families today.:grouphug: I do wish all will be well for the new year. Take it as easy as you can.

Us too. We always do the TSPP. The veggie pizza isn't terrible and since there used to be no kids meal for DDP, we'd get a few pizzas and a few salads and desserts and be good to go. Now it's kind of tradition, we go there, play a few games then go to watch Muppets.

Good Evening Snowbirds,

I was thinking that we are all starting our new year off with quite a bang! We are all going to Disney!:cool1:

Our tree and decorations are all down. We want to start getting out our totes for Disney.:dance3:

I will be typing up the lists upon lists of what to pack, clothing, travel documents, medications, etc. . I want to make certain we are well prepared. We are still mulling over obtaining passports. We may try to do it this Friday if they are open. I can understand everyone who is fretting. I too worry about if I have packed everything, ordered everything, etc. This is our first major trip outside of the province that it is only our immediate family. I also have to make up lists for people to take care of our house, snow shoveling, mail stopped, etc..:scared:

DD received a Nintendo DS for Christmas. She won't put the thing down. I found a Scrabble game for Game Boy that works on it and she is loving that. Her teacher recommended Scrabble to help her out, so I think that it is great that she loves playing this game and doesn't realize the educational value!;)

We too will be ordering a Photopass CD but wanted to wait until closer to the time. I am also on the Disney shopping site and Croc site to see what I wish to order. I am sending the Disney and Croc stuff to DH's Grandparents winter place and pick them up while down there so I don't have to pay shipping (free shipping with minimum order) and duty.

I am off to bring up from the basement the Disney totes and start my packing and lists. I like to have lists to check off I have brought it but also remember to bring it back. DD sometimes leaves stuff behind. Once for my parents she left something in a hotel an hour and a half away. My parents drove all the way back (3 hours total) just so she would have it again. This time if it is left at Disney, I will phone to have something shipped but we can't drive 22 hours to pick it up. Or can we?:rolleyes1

I hope everyone has a safe evening.

Remmy

PS-for New Years we stay at home with the kids. We are suckers to watch the ball fall in New York and phone my parents, and Grandma. It was a tradition to watch the ball in New York at my Grandparents' home when I was a child, so I still like watching it.

Remmy - smart idea for bringing the lists to pack to go home!! I have to do that. I also have to make a list to start with. I have parts of lists all over the place. Need to make a master list now.
I'm going to spend next week (probably while working Shh) updating all my info in my binder so it's organized better and complete. Now that we're doing DDP, I have all my ADRs set up and have to put a good list together.
My DH also informed me that we are doing the Photopass CD - so I have to remember to preorder that too.

Does anyone know if they do any photopass pictures at character meals such as 1900, Ohana or CP? I'm not planning on waiting in too many lines for characters, but want to get as many as possible if I'm getting the CD anyway. I'd like to do some of the nice family pictures with cool backdrops.
