Hi Snowbirds, its been awhile since I've checked in, but the trip is getting closer and so I'm starting to get really excited. I think I'm going to start mentally packing:rotfl: . My big concern now is the weather and which shoes we all are going to wear. Hoping for warm weather, of course it's got to be better than snow weather, right?

That's what I keep saying!!

All our snow is gone, what with it hitting 60 yesterday. Of course, now it's down to 30 but our winds are at 60. :scared1:

Two weeks till DH's marathon!!

Does anyone know if they do any photopass pictures at character meals such as 1900, Ohana or CP? I'm not planning on waiting in too many lines for characters, but want to get as many as possible if I'm getting the CD anyway. I'd like to do some of the nice family pictures with cool backdrops.

There aren't photopass photographers at meals without a photo station (although if you buy the pics from Akershus, Chef Mickey's etc I have heard you can add them to your photopass card). We enjoyed using the photopass photographers in the parks and then editing the pics (and uploading our own) online and making a scrapbook. Which reminds me, we need to pre-order the cd and the book.

Pixie dust to all those under stress - :tink:

Hi guys!!

I have been absent from here for a LONG time but I am leaving in 7 days and am so stressed:scared1:

I haven't done a thing to pack yet...not one thing. I was trying to get the holiday stuff out of the way and then deal with it. I am working today..For our trip, it looks like the weather will be upper 60's to low 70's which is abosolutley perfect:banana:

I don't know if I am going to have time to take down all of the holiday stuff before we leave.

Is anyone else freaking out???? I feel totally ungrateful to be whining about this....I am sure lots of people would feel lucky to have problems like this.;)

We're leaving in 6 days, and just brought the suitcases down from the attic yesterday! I've done 2 things - bought the Clorox wipes, and some low socks to wear if it's warm enough for shorts/capris! I hate full socks with short pants, and can't wear my sneakers without socks! The one thing I know, though, is that everything will get done and packed. And anything that doesn't, well, we'll either buy or make do.

I only have a few decorations up for the holiday, but I can't put anything away yet since it's still Chanukah. Tomorrow night is the last night and then I can put them away.

QOTD: we often have friends over for movies & hors d'oevres. This year, it's just me and DH (and DD if she doesn't have plans -- yeah, right :rotfl:) . DH picks up some good cheeses & crackers and some inexpensive caviar, and whatever DVDs are of interest. We crack open the champagne and watch movies until it's time for the ball drop from Times Square. Shortly thereafter, it's bed time!

It's miserable here today, rainy and gray, but it'll be up in the 60's. Outrageous for this time of year! I did check the 10 day forecast - Saturday's forecast is for rain/snow showers, no big storms before then, so maybe we'll even get out of here on time! :woohoo:

Hope everyone ailing is feeling better, including all the kids & parents!

Yesterday was a foggy mess here in my part of Wisconsin. I tried not going out of the house until our neighbor's party at 6:00pm. That's when I remembered that I didn't get the mail....and lo and behold......a torn up package with Disney stamps...:scared1: It was torn open on the top and bottom and soggy wet. My DH didn't understand my worries as I told him to STOP THE CAR and turn on the lights in side. I had to make sure that all of my paperwork was in the remaining envelop...:thumbsup2 All was GOOD! So now I can start packing.

QOTD: I was trying to convince my DH that we should go UP North..to Cryred's neck of the woods and spend the weekend in a hotel with a waterpack for NYE..Not happening. We will probably stay at home and play Wii with the girls. He will fall asleep around 10:00pm and I will be a sappy girl and watch the ball drop and cry for the New Year to come in. Just means that I'm getting that much older, my girls are closer to leaving the house, ...:sad1:

Good Sunday Snow friends. Warm here today but windy. I am figuring out clothes still to pack. I got myself and DH done. Have to weigh our luggage somehow in the attic.:lmao: I am getting so excited about surprising the kids. Only three more days.
If you guys start a new thread will I am gone, can someone post the link on my PTR?

Good Morning Snowbirds!:flower3:

It is so exciting that all our trips are coming up so soon. Some are able to go sooner than myself. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Exciting news in my neighbourhood today!!!!!

We woke up with out electricity!!

It has been quite windy and a huge pine tree a few houses down fell down (roots ripped right out of the ground) and completely covered our neighbours yard and the whole street. Lucky for everyone that no homes or vehicles and most important no people were hurt. It knocked out our electricity for 4 hours. Other than the wind it is quite mild and sunny most of the time. Due to the power being out there was no food preparation or heat but like I said it is mild and the power is only out in the local neighbourhood. DH went out and foraged for breakfast and found it at a local fast food joint. The children didn't mind a change from the usual.

The power is now back on and the children are happy to have back their tv and Wii.

I thought I would pop on and tell you my exciting news. I truly don't mind this kind of news where I am a bit inconvenienced but nothing bad happened to anyone. We had fun watching the electric company putting back up the power lines.popcorn::

well I knew my snowbirds would help me feel better. I decided to cancel my shift for Tuesday so that will give me extra time to get ready. I am also skipping the Eagles game today because I have a pretty bad cold. I think today I will pull out some of the spring/summer clothes for the girls. Looks like a high of 70's so I guess capris and shorts..but at night it looks like 50's so maybe jeans and hoodies.

I know it will all get done....I just have to chill.;)

Good morning Snowbirds!

We are supposed to get a record high of 64 degrees today. We had a thunderstorm last night. That might not seem odd to some of you, but generally in we don't get thunderstorms in PA in December. :confused3 Very strange weather. If we get anymore rain we will be able to float down to Disney! :boat:

We tied the record yesterday for the high temperature. DS and I even went out for a bike ride (in INDIANA IN DECEMBER!:scared1: ) while DH took down the outside decorations. Then we came in and took down all the inside ones. I'm now ready to pack!!

Oh, but first I must clean up the "Christmas holding room" ---- our spare bedroom that was the area where gifts were held, wrapping paper stored and just a dumping zone for everything! This is where I pack!! YIKES!

Here's one -
What do you do to celebrate New Year's? (assuming you're not lucky enough to already be in WDW!)

We spend the evening with our friends (who conveniently live next door). We'll play the Wii, and some board games, snack on finger foods all night, and then make the long trek home after midnight (the walk is like a whole 30 seconds long!!! :lmao: ) We alternate houses every year, so this year we're at their house.

Hey there everyone. My mom went in for surgery this morning to put the stint in to get rid of the kidney stone. They were also going to try and drain her lungs and kindey at the same time. Her blood pressure started to fluctuate though, so they just put the stint in and stopped. So at least the kidneys can drain. She's on some good drugs apparently for the pain and for the pnuemonia. She will be in the hospital again tonight, possible moved from ICU to a regular room. It also sounds like she might be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. We'll have to watch her pretty closely if she comes home.

So tonight I'm going to take down all the Christmas decorations, which she wanted done before our trip, and clean clean clean.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. :flower3:

Hopefully she continues to heal. Nothing like a Disney trip to make you want to get better quickly!

Morning all! Just got back from a long drive to Cracker Barrell (it's about 2 minutes away ;) ) had a wonderful breakfast and some nice family time-YUMMY!! They have the best pancakes in the world. Let the boys get a small toy because whenever we go there they always beg, and since we had gift certificates this time, we spoiled them a bit! It's chillier today (40's) but sunny-I opened up my kitchen curtains to let the Sun Shine In...so then the 2 yr old started singing "you are my sunshine"-too cute!

I spent literally 12 hours cleaning yesterday. Got a huge box of toys to donate and threw tons of stuff away. I made hubby get in his dresser and give me 10 tshirts to throw out. He's got some that are OLD and holy and he still wears them under others. I can't fit anything else in his drawers (:) ) so I refused to put his clothes away anymore until he cleaned them out. I was hoping that we would find our lost digital camera but NO LUCK! I'm just so aggravated! I can't imagine where it would be!

Today will be relaxation day! Hope all of you have a similar kind of Sunday!

AWW, how cute that he sang!!

You guys are inspiring me to get organized and clean. I too have a room that was the wrapping room, store the bins, throw the junk we needed to hide from company...you get the idea. I use it as a "staging" area before vacation. It is also our office and guest room. Thankfully we don't have any guests now!!
I have to make DH throw out t-shirts too. Especially because I KNOW he will buy at least one on vacation!
I will take down a few decorations, but leave up the tree etc. because we're having company on NYE and I want it to look festive.
Better get to work!

I was thinking about this - taking down decorations. I walked to my basement, looked out the window... and saw my garage decorations in my backyard and in the neighbors yard. Guess that takes care of that!

My family has switched to all Disney, all the time conversation. Keep in mind that my parents are 60, I'm 32, and my brother is 30. Yet, whenever I talk to any of them, we all switch over to Disney Disney Disney. I think we're all ready to go!!

12 days! :scared1: :woohoo:

I'm getting so excited about my trip. I have gone out and bought a lot of my last minute supplies and I've been making my park plans LOL!!! I love it!!

You guys have inspired me..tomorrow is going to be clean up day at my house. Going to take down the tree and do some serious organizing..some of you had done a lot of cleaning LOL!!

I KNOW!!

Now we're doing the birthday cake dance "I don't know, what do you want?" and then - THEN!!! - after that we're all done planning. More or less.

I'm also thinking I might be the only one here who hasn't started to pack! I don't know what the weather is going to be just yet (hey, where's Soliel with her weather reports? is she out having a life or something?!) and I certainly canNOT get my husband to even think of it.

Of course, last time he packed for himself for Disney, he packed jeans and sweaters and the temps were in the low 80s all week. Maybe I should pack for him.... ;)

I'm switching back between Dis and Ebay-I've got 7 minutes left on a lot of 10 pins. Gotta have a lanyard and pins for the 2 yr old (yes, I know, spoiled rotten) but it will save fights for when Drew wants to trade and he has to trade.

I get so aggravated with hubby and packing. I'll have everything neatly organized (all of us have clothes spread out between all the bags in case the airline loses a bag at least we'll have something, then at the last minute he'll throw a bunch of stuff in there and mess up my system! At least this time we're driving so it's not that big of a deal!

2 minutes left on my ebay pins...

Phew...room is now cleaned! I've got all of the shirts and shorts laid out for DS for the week. Have some of my shirts out and my shorts one shirt for DH! :lmao: We'll have to wait until we're closer to the date for a couple pairs of jeans and the warmer gear.

DH and DS are downstairs making a countdown chain. We're ready for this vacation! We have so much to do over the upcoming weekends - we don't have a spare weekend! We have my company's holiday / annual party (I know - it's in January!) and a surprise party for a friend of ours that battled and beat cancer this past year. I can't believe all of our trips are so close! We've planned for so long!!!

Who is the seller for the pins and how much did you get them for? I have bought lots of 25 and 50 from 2 different sellers in the past 3 years.

Yeah! I got 10 pins for 20.01. The seller was disneyqualitydisneypins. Hopefully all will go smoothly. I bought some last year for my other son from kctmitgolf and it was a good experience. Our paypal acct was messed up so she had to wait for payment, but was VERY nice. I figured at that point I was SOL! :lmao:
