Yeah, I just got my luggage tags and my booklet with all the package info in it today! :goodvibes

YAY...I got my 2009 DVD and just got done watching it!! I'm so excited about all the new things that are going to be there!

I haven't received my package info yet OR my 2009 DVD! :sad2: I was hoping they would come today! No luck though...maybe Monday! I really hope they come soon!

I went and did our passports today..... paid an extra $40 to guarantee we would have them before we leave! They will be ready at noon on January 7th! YEEHAW!

Sent "THE NOTE" to school today too! The kids were all suspicious of why I was sending notes to their teachers. I just told them it was none their business and they let it go!

Hope all the sick little snowbirds are beginning to get well! Hope all of you in Southern Ontario are nice and snug in your houses! Enjoy the snow! The people I babysit for were supposed to fly into Toronto tonite for a wedding tomorrow... I am still waiting to hear if they actually made it or not!

Well, today was the last day of school for my 2 darlings as wel! @ weeks of Holidays! WEEHEE! Quality Family Time! Fun Fun Fun! :yay:

Goodnight ALL!

I took the notes into school today. The kindergarten teacher said, no problem, could I just change the names to her kids so they could go? The principal caught up with me and said it would be okay, they usually allow 5 days with no problem, and I explained the buy 4 get 3 deal, and she was saying, oh, yes, you'd have to take it...2nd grade teacher is the one who said, she can't go unless you take me with you! So I'm not worried, but I'm glad to have it out of the way. Fortunately, the kids are so young, they really won't suffer - no real big homework etc.
The science fair is the night before we leave, and they BOTH want to do it! Guess what we'll be doing over break? RESEARCH!! DD7 wants to do Cardinals, and DD5 something with Water. Hmmmm - Jen, got any good ideas?

We start school after Labor day, get two days off in October, Wed - Fri of Thanksgiving, 2 weeks Christmas (this year at least), a week off in March for Spring Break, and a few random workshop days for ends of Trimester. This year it hit around Thanksgiving, so that's why they got Wed. off. They might get Good Friday off - called a "spring holiday". Ah public schools!

We finish about a week into June. Not too bad.
Well, got my gingerbread boys done, all the cards are ready to go, and I am pooped. Off to bed (finally)!

Have a great weekend!!

You just asked a science nerd for ideas LOL!!!

Well your DD7 about cardinals or other birds could discuss migration and how they prepare for it OR she could go from Egg to Cardinal..and do a cute pun off the which came first the chicken or the egg LOL!!! This is too fun...I think I would prefer migration because what birds do to prepare to fly is amazing LOL...I'm sure there sites that will explain it on an elementary level for her. OR...wow you ask the animal physiologist for ideas and you didn't know what you were getting into LOL..she could discuss the differences between male and female and why the red cardinals are always male...has to do with mating he has to look good for her...she could compare and contrast.

Water..hmmm you could do a lot with water...but I have to think in terms of 5 year old not 15 year old (although some days LOL) Let's see if you could still find some small plants at Wal-Mart she could do which type of water do plants grow in...you need your controls which would be regular water and then you could do salt water, sugar water, and miracle grow water and she could see what happens to the plants over the next week/ week and a half.

You could also do something with the boiling and freezing points of water based on stuff inside..you sugar water, salt water, water, water with cornstarch/flour...boil and freeze it and see how long it takes and then compare it to regular water and decide if the stuff inside does affect it.

Don't know if those will work for you not!!!

THANKS!! I did know I was asking a science nerd - That's why I asked you!! :) I love the ideas! YOU ROCK!!

Well, as my DH put it - IT'S SNOWING LIKE A BIG DOG OUT THERE!
We're expecting 6 inches by tonight. Then it's going to get COLD again. We will definitely have a white Christmas! Good thing I only have to go to the end of the road today. DD7's Brownie troop is having a tea party. We'll be walking! :cool1:

Have to make "finger" sandwiches. PBJ on white bread, going to cut them out with cookie cutters. Should be fun.

Sent my cards of with DH this a.m. - he's a mailman, so he takes them to the P.O. Only have one thing left to bake - biscotti! Yum. It's for gifts for my co-workers. They're big coffee drinkers.
I do have one package to send to PA but it's going to be late. Thankfully it's my girlfriend's family and we both end up doing things late for each other, so I'm not worried. I haven't even found a box yet!! Oh well, it will make Christmas last longer!

Have a great day everyone!!

If you want a cool down, come on up. Current temp is 14 but feels like 5.
I NEED the warm temps. I need to know that warmth still exsists. :rotfl:

Not too much going on here this morning. I just started my first load of laundry which is my bed sheets. My brother needs to do his Christmas shopping today so I have to help him with that. I wanted to do it first thing this morning, because I don't handle people very well this time of year and he is not a shopping person....at all. However he's still sleeping.:rolleyes1

Shelly - does the rest of your family know that you are surprising your kids?

5 Sleeps until Christmas!

:santa: :santa:

5 more days...seriously I still have cards to mail...they are all in town so maybe if I get them out today or Monday...Monday seems more likely..oh well at this point I just might be handing them out at chuch instead of mailing them LOL!!!!!!

Today is wrapping the presents day YAY!!

Well I forgot Friday (arrival day) bu t this time next Saturday We'll be in US (this is a mini surprise that the kids don't know about)

I need some warm weather too. I'm hoping for upper 70's myself! :wizard: :goodvibes

The only family member I have told is my mom. I just couldn't help it one day, I had to tell someone! :rotfl: My parents are divorced, so my Dad and Step-mom don't know, my brother and his family don't know, and none of DH's family knows! We just figured it would be better that way so that no one would slip up and spill the beans!! I am hoping my mom doesn't say anything by accident today when we go to her house!

I am thinking about starting a thread about the surprise! What do you guys think??? I don't quite know where to put it though. . . Resort boards? Countdowns? Community boards? Family boards? :confused3

Good morning...I'm trying to get motivated to clean so I can bake (yes I know I'm just going to dirty my kitchen, but I need to start with a clean slate)! Keaton woke up FEVER-FREE this morning, except has a raging diaper rash, so he's running around without a diaper this morning (pray for me and my bedroom carpet :rotfl: ).

Its supposed to get down to 12 degrees tonight and only up to 17 tomorrow. YIKES. I need to get out and pick up some gift cards, and I'd love to run to Old Navy for their $6 sale but I hate getting the kids out in this! (I feel so sorry for you all with the snow and ice right now)!! I'M READY FOR DISNEY AND WARMTH!!!!!

Have a great Saturday everyone.
