I really don't have anything to add to the thread I just needed to see my ticker today, I figured you all would understand LOL

I understand... I need to see my ticker today too!

Another snowy day, and another day prepping for the family staying here over Christmas. Why does the guest room become the junk room????:confused3

This isn't really a snowbird question, but I know you guys know a little bit about everything, so I'll throw it out --

Does anyone have a recipe for sausage balls -- I believe the ingredients are sausage and Bisquick, and you roll them together and bake it. I'm looking for a recipe that doesn't involve a blender. We want to make the to eat while we watch the WDW Christmas parade!

TIA!
Maria

I don't have a sausage ball recipe, but I do love them! Sorry! When does the parade come on?

:boredMine is still in the grunty-grunty phase, too. When I talk about Disney, he just looks at me and rolls his eyes. I know he's going to have a blast when we get there, he just never gets excited about anything ahead of time.:confused3 Wierdo!

Mine is definitely the same way. Didnt really get excited to go to Alaska until the day we left. However, the thought of running a marathon is pretty exciting for him, so he's thrilled about that. I don't think he's given a second thought to the d-i-s-n-e-y part of it yet. Hey, this time three weeks form now, he'll be all done running!

According to DS, it's 10 am -- That's Eastern Standard Time for us...

Rats! I missed it!

It started snowing here on Friday. Snowed all day yesterday. Stopped for a few hours overnight and now it's snowing again My mom had a medical appointment that I had to cancel because no way was I driving if I didn't really have to, and no way was she coming out in this mess! Oh, well, enough time to reschedule. I'm hoping temps will warm up from Soleil's weather report, but at this point, heck, I'll take 60's! I'll be in the pool down the slide at least once this trip, I'm determined!

Today I'm getting out all our menorahs to clean and set up, and peeling and grating potatoes and onions. Tonight at sundown is the first night of Chanukah. (Technically, only one menorah is necessary, but we have a small collection and I like to light them all - by the eighth night, we have quite an inferno!)

Chag Sameach to all who celebrate tonight. And to everyone, stay safe and warm!

I've been neglecting this thread recently, since I had finals to study for. Unfortunately, none of my teachers have posted my grades yet, but that's ok... it's nice to be done for a few weeks.

Ugh... the touringplans crowd calendar changed... I might have to make a few adjustments...

Here's what I have:
2 lbs bulk sausage (uncooked)
1 1/2 cups bisquick
16 oz sharp cheddar (4 cups shredded)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 375. Shred cheese and mix all ingredients. Form into 1" balls. Bake 15 min. on ungreased cookie sheet until golden brown. Makes about 6 doz. Can be frozen uncooked.

For a firmer texture, add an extra 3 cups bisquick and extra 2 cups cheese.

I'm not sure if I've made this exact recipe, but I found it in a magazine ad for Jimmy Dean sausage. Good luck!

Hello Everyone,

It is so exciting to see all our tickers down to the last bit. Finally our vacations are soon to be realities!:cool1:

Today DH finally put up the Christmas tree. Due to my illness (bad, bad cold) I have been fairly useless and could only muster up the energy to work full time and do a bit of children time, all the rest suffered. The children had fun decorating the tree but petered out half way through, thus our tree may look sparse but less to take down later.:thumbsup2

Tonight I can wrap up the gifts and put them under the tree. I like the look of a tree with presents. I cannot believe how fast Christmas is coming. I have to think of a cleaver way to write up that they will be attending the Disney Pirate Cruise at the Grand Floridian and the Tea Party with Alice. http://allears.net/pl/grandadven.htm I think they will have much fun with both. DH and I are going to take time to explore the Grand Floridian and the Poly while they are having fun without us.

It is snowing again! DBIL came over with a snowblower yesterday and cleared out our driveway and sidewalk from the terrible storm on Friday. Supposedly in our area there will be another big storm coming on Christmas Eve. I am all for a white Christmas but I do not like piles of snow, just a nice light coating.:goodvibes

We're doing the Half Marathon. He is going to have a great time. This is the best managed race, it's really great for participants!

Rats! I missed it!

You didn't miss it -- It's on Christmas Day! :woohoo:

Thank you, this sounds yummy! I heard about them on another thread, then couldn't find the recipe. It sounds like a great treat!

I have a favor to ask all the Snowbirds that are going in the beginning of the month. Could you please ask if there is a Bounce Back Offer and report back here on what is offered.

My in-laws were all to come down with us for this trip but one by one they all could not come down due to other obligations. Thus they are now planning a trip later in the year, preferably late August or early September. Due to us promising our children this trip and it was the best time we can go we still went with January. We will try to see if we can swing another trip down to Disney if there is an excellent bounce back offer.

Thank you in advance to all Snowbirds that feel comfortable asking and reporting back here.

No problem. I was thinking about making them too - DH loves them. I might halve the recipe, as I don't want 6 dozen!! It would go good with our Christmas morning brunch!:santa:

I believe it may be the day to bring out the suitcases! Church was cancelled this morning due to the snow/ice, so it has been a wonderfully relaxing day. I've put off getting the suitcases out before Christmas, but now I think it is close enough!

I'm thinking next week is when I'll start packing. I just started making my list of things I need to do/buy before Christmas, and it's MUCH longer than I expected. And neither hubby nor I have any days off between now and then, and he's got clients for his 2nd job both Monday and Tuesday! When am I gonna get it all done?!?!?! AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!! Guess I better get off my butt and get to work! (And it's 8 degrees outside so I really don't want to get the kids out for anything right now)!

Hello everyone!!

Hope you are all having a nice relaxing weekend! Did anyone get out and do any shopping this weekend? It was CRAZY!! We didn't need anything but went out to Old Navy early on Saturday. I made it to Toys R Us around 3 and it was wall to wall people. I'm so glad my shopping has been done for weeks now.

Times getting close for us, Snowbirds. I can't believe that we have only two weeks left. I'm beyond ready for a vacation.
