Good Evening Snowbirds!

The question floating around about what to wear to the airport is a very interesting one! We find ourselves with this predicament as well! Here is our situation and plan - We are actually driving to Minneapolis the day before our flight to Orlando. We will NOT be bringing our winter boots/jackets with us at all! We plan to layer a tshirt over a long sleeve/turtleneck shirt and then a fleece sweater/hoodie. Hats and mittens of course because those may prove to be useful while at WDW. We are parking our car at the hotel we are staying at the night before our flight so we will leave anything we don't want to haul to Florida in the trunk of the car! On return, the plan is to fetch the things from the car ASAP and bring them into our room so they have a chance to thaw before we need them the next day for the drive home! :thumbsup2

Anywho, I must retire to my bed as I am very sleepy! :surfweb: in the morning snowbirds! Love to All! :grouphug:

Hmmmmmmmm... didn't think about the clothing issue.... who wants to sit on an airplane with all those snowboots and heavy coats:eek: ... I think we might be okay as my DS is bringing along a friend whose parents said they would bring us all to the airport.... so really I just need to run from my front door into their warm car then they will drop us off at the curb at the airport:woohoo: so I think that a light weight jacket and sneakers might be okay for us.... I am worried about the weather.... our flight leaves at 7 am... so that is a 5 am arrival at the airport.... its pretty snowy here in Central NY and VERY cold at that time of the day!!!!!!!!!!

Well snowbirds.... I too am off to bed.... have a good night.....

Good morning Peaches.....:)

HaHa! :rotfl:

I'll most likely wear jeans and just have a sweatshirt for my 6:30am flight.:headache: (that's very early in the morning!) I've worn my tear-aways before so that when I get outside I can take them off and be in shorts in the middle of Jan! I'm a geek! However, I need to be ready to head to the park, because once we check in that's where we go! :cool1:
So the agenda for the "first day" at MK: must do Philharmagic and eat dinner at Pecos Bill. We get there the 7th, so those 2 things we have to make sure get done!

Can I play too??????????

I will be at WDW with my two kids from Jan 22 to Jan 28, we are staying at All Star Sports. DD will be competing at Wide World of Sports in a gymnastics meet either on Friday Jan 23 or Sat Jan 24th. This will be our third trip to the world, except we are used to going in April/May. DH will not be joining us, as I refuse to drive from WI to WDW in Jan and he refuses to fly period.

My biggeset question is what will the weather be like at that time of the year?

Thanks,

Barb

We are either getting a limo pick us up since it is a surprise trip or we are driving ourselves. So I guess we will leave them in the car.
Anyone who flys out of philly? Where do you park your car for long term parking?

We are coming from Michigan and will just be wearing sweatshirts and jeans to he airport. We are packing capris or shorts in a carry-ons to charge into when we get to Disney.

Hi. I'm about a half hour south of you!

You'll love going to FL in the middle of winter! It's entertaining to talk to friends back home talking about shoveling and how cold it is!:rotfl:

Jen... I saw that you wrote tomorrow is your double digit party. You arrive Jan 15 and we will be coming Jan 16. According to Northwest's website tomorrow is my 99th day. Wouldn't your party have been today? I would hate for you take missed it.

Also want to say...sorry your a Michigan fan...Go SPARTANS.
Go Wings...can't wait the season opener tomorrow...raise that banner.

I did my double digit day today ! WoooHooo!!!! Ok so photopass for Jan is set up with enough people! Can it be added to the big January photopass post? I can not wait to be in Florida in Jan. Leave the yucky New England weather behind! Oh and GO RED SOX!!!!

Hey, me too! I just checked in on the TGM website, and he says I have 100 more days to go as of today. Wow! I want to make a countdown calendar for my dd8, who wants to "talk about Disney" every night before bed.;) Little stinker knows how to get Mom engaged in a conversation and prolong bedtime!

I love countdowns!

In my house, from the time we book hotel, we start the countdown. It's written on the main calendar in the kitchen. So everytime you look at it to see what's going on for the day, you can see how long til Happy Time!

Anyone who flys out of philly? Where do you park your car for long term parking?

We fly out of Philly. We usually park at Colonial Parking and have always been pleased with the speed of their shuttle bus. This time, however, since we are leaving EARLY (6:25 am flight), I am thinking about getting a park/fly hotel. What if the weather is bad in January??:confused3

BRRRRRRRRRRRR, it's getting cold her in upstate NY! Only 85 more days ubtil we go to sunny WDW, :woohoo: :woohoo:

So snowbirds do you guys have stuff set up while you are down there? Can I be added to your thread. We are at the Boardwalk Villas from the 15th-to 19th and then the Dolphin the 20th and 21st!

I will get you added to the Snowbird list! :thumbsup2

Shelly we have three people already interested maybe four in the Photopass, do you want to add it to the post?

I will get you all set up this afternoon on the January photopass thread! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the Snowbirds! Glad to see you could join all of us!

In regards to the coat to the airport thing....we will probably leave our coats in my parents car. They will be bringing us to the airport and picking us up too. We might not even bring our coats. We'll be leaving our house and getting into a warm car and then they will drop us off. Same thing applies for when we return. We will probably wear jeans, t-shirts and a zip up hoodie.
