Jan 2009 Code Watch

I am pretty sure there will be some kind of code...As others have said it is crazy they offered free dining during XMAS---which just goes to show how tough the economy is right now...AOL welcome page has the top companies struggling due to CREDIT CRISIS...Disney made the list:

Disney
Disney (DIS) is not immune to the economy. Tourists don't have the money for airfare and hotels. Disney's cable, network TV, and studios may be hurt by plummeting advertising budgets, but getting people to theme parks when gas prices are high and credit is low would require more magic than the Magic Kingdom has to spare.

Please be the day...and please come out soon! Kids have off of school today so I'm not going to be near a computer in a little bit (and they don't know we're going yet!).

Chase still has the Halloween offer up!!! I've only got a little bit of time this morning. Target is offering Buy 2 Get 1 Free for all Wii games - in stores only. Those games are $50. I guess if I can't get a code today...I'm moving on to Christmas shopping!

I just called and they told me that nothing is being offered for my dates (10-17) right now. He said to watch my email and the website.

When you guys are looking at the Disney website, what page is it that will show the code?

If I have a res in with an travel agent and decide I want to use a AAA discount, can the travel agent do this direct with Disney or do I need to cancel and book through AAA?

if (god forbid) no great deal comes out, what is your backup plan?? We are trying to decide thsat now, thinking POFW with AP rate is out best bet.

Backup - stick with our CSR reservation with the AAA discount, room only.

Only AAA can book a package with a AAA discount; another travel agent can't. You can book a room-only with a AAA through Disney itself.

If it is room-only, any travel agent can do it.

If it is a package, you'll need to go through AAA agency.

TY.........really didn't want the agent to lose her commission, I would book a room only and get my tickets through Undercover Tourist then...and guess we will have to forget the dining plan.

Seriously?? Not today either? (I'm assuming that's what this means, considering the last one was out by now, regardless of when they said they could be released...)

That's what we are going to do, too. We're going to drop the dining plan and maybe shorten the trip by a few days. I don't want to cancel altogether, so we are just going to have to make some tweaks here and there to make it a bit more affordable for us.
