Jaime on Vacation! (9/2/06 - 9/10/06) COMPLETED: Page 14, Post #210

Yes, please share it. Just head it off with a "Spoiler Warning" and if someone doesn't want to read it, they don't have to!

Loving your report! You look so much like my ex-sister in law, it is uncanny. Lucky for you, you aren't as I would not wish my BIL on any of his 5 brides (no lie -- 5 by 40!)

LOVE your trip report!!!!! I'm leaving with my "almost" teen daughter in 3 days....hahahahah

That's my vote...do something like this

WARNING! GAME SPOILER! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW - DON'T READ BETWEEN THE ****************************************

Then post
*********************************************
Game details....
Then
*********************************************

And those that don't want to know - don't.

Is that helpful or just plain bossy?....hee hee

If you type the message, then put the text in white I *think* everyone would have to highlight it if they wanted to read it. Let me try this theory...

* Click and drag after this *Can you see this?

Okay that worked if click and drag right after the * . If you don't feel comfortable typing it visibly, we can all be Kim Possible and decode the invisible message. :D

Just need to take care of a little housekeeping here:

Tammi-Sue: Thank you for your nice words.

Thomas: They were looking for a “light show”????? That’s hysterical! :happytv: Oh, well, at least THEY got to see it! :sad2: / I feel your loss for your visor / I knew how to pronounce Cay  / and I tried a bite of the Aero bar and didn’t “get” it – it was chocolate. :confused3 Of course, it was 90 degrees and chocolate really doesn’t work in that temperature… :p

Tammy: I think the Kim Possible game is different than the tours, in that you have to find things and places… but I’ll post it with spoiler warnings…

Disney_1984: You see signs of your mum in me????? :furious: Well, why don’t you just come out and call me “ma’am” while you’re at it??? :rotfl2: And before you call me a great mom, you should have heard the fight Meg and I had this weekend! Sheesh! Bad one! I loved when you called Ashley “goosebump”! :goodvibes And, just a little self-promotion here, have you read the other 3 trip reports in my signature? Might be something to do while you wait… :rolleyes1

MomPlanner22: I turned on the TV once and they were interviewing someone in NC about the hurricane damage to her house - and for a second I was confused about why I was on TV! I am told a lot I look like someone people know. And I’m being really careful to make sure there’s only the 2 divorces I’ve already had! :cool1:

Chris: Have a great trip! :wizard: I kinda wish it had just been Meg and me…

Weeks4vols: I like bossy! :rotfl: And I like the format you suggested! Stay tuned in… :hourglass

Wade, from the Kim cartoon, told us over the Kimmunicator what horrible things were happening, and how we had to gather the information to help. Then we would be told to find a place and given its picture. The first picture we were shown was in the French pavilion. I recognized the spot. So we headed over to France. We had to go into the gift shop past the pastry shop and find the location shown on our phone. When we found it (it was a picture of the Eiffel Tower being built), we hit OK on the phone. Wade told us to look at the lamp in front of us – we had triggered a satellite in the game, but the actual lamp in front of us had a “satellite” coming out of the top of it!

From the satellite, we were given our next clue – we had to find another place and use our Kimmunicator to place a bug, so we could listen in to the bad guys’ conversation. Another picture on the phone, I recognize this one too – we have to go in the entrance of the movie in the France pavilion.

We go through the turnstiles, and Meg spots the area in the picture immediately. It’s just to our left, a gargoyle in a case. Meg activated the phone, the gargoyle’s eyes light up! We’ve set the trap for the villains! We were then sent back into the gift shop past the pastry shop to find another spot to listen to the bad guys’ plans. Aaah, tables! :thumbsup2

As we were running around France, I noticed a few other Teams out there. But I also watched the people who were just “touring” EPCOT, and they seemed totally unaware anything was going on!

There are 3 missions you can play. Each mission is composed of 3 sub-missions and a bonus question. The bonus question was about the pavilion you were in, so those were my job to answer! :teeth:

We are now shown a picture of the stain glass windows in France and the message tells us something about a “library”. OK. I know where Belle’s library and the stain glass windows are – one thing to note: this game would have taken Meg & Ash a LONG time to complete because of their lack of EPCOT knowledge. In order to know where the next clue was, you had to know the pavilions’ basic layouts. I’m not saying it CAN’T be done, but it would have been a lot more difficult.

As it is, this clue was a little tough to find. I have never paid attention to the BACK of the building, and with Meg holding the picture, it was tough to line up the shot. We did find it in a couple of minutes, though.

You had to stand in front of a row of books in the window and point your Kimmunicator at all the books to “scan” them. The middle row of books is fake – it’s a screen! And your clue appears there. This sends you to another spot in France – this time the picture is of an old fashioned camera on a tripod. I know where that it! It’s set up right by the bridge to the UK!

We head over and our instructions are to look through the camera to see the top of the Eiffel Tower, then use the Kimmuncator to activate something up there. Then they have you stand to the side of the camera and look up at the Eiffel Tower –the picture they take of you appears on your Kimmunicator! :goodvibes And you’re sent to another spot in France to “get” the bad guys. We are shown a picture of a building with a sign on it. Ashley remembers passing this building earlier; she read the sign as we walked by. I also know where we’re going, so we head to the building in front of the pastry shop.

Ooh, bench! Point the Kimmunicator at the building, activate it, and one of the upstairs windows flashes as the bad guys are taken care of! :cool1:

Mission 1 Accomplished! On to Mission 2, which takes us to the UK. This time, we let Ashley hold the Kimmunicator. The first part had us go to the red phone booth by the Rose & Crown Pub and activate the Kimmuncator, which caused a ping pong ball to come out of the phone. We were to take this ping pong ball and place it in a machine inside the sports store.

Then in the sports store, we had to find a plaque. I’m glad the kids spotted it – it was hard to get a good look at the picture when someone else was holding the phone! This led us to the teashop, where were supposed to say something to the person behind the counter. I never saw the message on the Kimmunicator, so I was a little shocked when Ashley says something about danger and tea… I can’t remember the exact phrase at the moment. Probably because I never actually SAW the message she was supposed to say.

We are each handed a tea bag (Indian Chai – I had a cup yesterday and it was delicious!). I found something free in EPCOT! We had to complete a puzzle on the Kimmunicator using the words on the tea bag. This leads us to the toyshop. There’s a toy soldier in the window who greeted us by our team name and told Meg that it was quick thinking for her to disguise herself as a DNA molecule! (She's still wearing the balloon hat!) We were shocked, then I looked around and spotted the camera and microphone. We talked to the toy soldier for a few minutes and were given the next location.

Last item in the UK was to find a certain building on Regency Street – again, the girls would have had trouble because Meg didn’t know there were row houses in the very back of the UK pavilion! We found the correct house from the picture, activated the Kimmunicator, and the window in the house flashed as we got the bad guys!

Last mission, my turn to hold the phone – man that really makes a difference! We answer the bonus question first, then we are being sent to the Journey into Your Imagination building. That’s quite a hike in the 90-degree weather! We enter through the Image Works doors and are ushered upstairs. Now I’m really excited, because I remember when this was where the playground was! Meg’s never been up there.

We are greeted and watch another short film, then have to help Ron and Kim one more time by using air guns to hit targets. Whoo-hoo! World saved! We rock! We then sit down (aaah) to fill out a survey (it’s on a touch screen computer, so even their survey was cool!), then we were each given a Kim Possible Team pin.

It took 1:45 for us to complete, but we had been told by the lady on the bus the other day to be sure not to rush. We had a blast! I really hope they come up with more of these missions. If there had been another game to sign up for, we would have done it. The technology was cool, having items out there already made into part of the game was neat!

I was one of the people who couldn’t figure out WHY Kim Possible would be at EPCOT, but where else can you “save the world” except the World Showcase???

347%3C67%3B%3B3%7Ffp4%3Enu%3D3235%3E588%3E%3A%3A%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D32325%3A%3C642629nu0mrj

347%3C67%3B%3B3%7Ffp6%3Enu%3D3235%3E588%3E%3A%3A%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D32325%3A%3C6439%3A8nu0mrj

Also, Meg insisted on calling herself Katia the entire game and talking in a French/Russian accent (it would morph back and forth) the whole time.

In the survey we filled out, we said that there should be a LOT of different missions, all the countries should be used! This would be a great addition to EPCOT if this were to become an actual "attraction".

You know what??? I don't feel bad about posting your Leave a Legacy pictures here anymore! :p

We leave the Kim Possible game area, and decide, as long as we’re here, to ride Journey into Your Imagination. I just love Figment, I always have. I miss the old Imagination Playground though. Remember running through the big rainbow tube? Or doing the Egyptian pose behind the wall of lit up blocks? Or running your hand under the bed of nails?

Blur, blur, blur… I have 2 hours in EPCOT I can’t account for… and I don’t even drink! Often. :rolleyes1

HA! :happytv: I asked Meg and she remembered exactly what we did! We were in the Imagination Playground, Meg & I had grabbed a machine and Ashley went to the next machine over. Meg & I took and sent a couple of pictures. Ashley has entered…The Silent Zone. She’s not saying a word. She would do this for hours on end. I don’t know why. She claims to not be mad or upset, but she’s not the quiet type, so I don’t know. :confused3

Ashley leaves her machine and wanders over to us. Now, big surprise, I need to use the facilities. So does Meg. Do you know where the bathrooms are? I do. BEHIND the JIYI pavilion! Ashley is busy on the machine, so I tell her we’re going to the bathroom. No answer. OK, stay right here. We go, we come back. Nope, she’s not there. When we find her, she says, “I have to go to the bathroom.” Oh, for Pete’s sake! :furious: WHY didn’t you say that when I said we were going? So back to the bathroom we go. (How’s that for 5 minutes of your life you’ll never get back? :teeth: I talk about multiple bathroom trips!) :lmao:

As long as we’re this close, let’s go ride Soarin’ again. Now Meg’s hungry, and I think I am too, so we check out the Sunshine Food Court (is it still called that?) There’s nothing interesting (I know a lot of people love it now, but I don’t see it…) :confused3

Well, where do you want to go? Ashley announces she’s not hungry. Yes, she talked! Well, fine, you’re really not hungry? No. Then China it is! :cool1:

Again, I know a lot of people disagree, but Meg and I like 9 Dragons. There. I said it. I LIKE TO EAT AT NINE DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!! :p

I would also like to see the Chinese Acrobats. Before you get to excited, that never happens. We head over to 9 Dragons. Just as we get there, it starts to rain. We dash inside and see about 15 people lining the wall. I go to the podium and ask if they are taking walk-ups. She asks how many and peels off 3 menus, “right this way”. Wow! :Pinkbounc (Oh, shut up, Dragon haters! Mama’s happy!)

Remember Meg’s thing about wanted to always share food – can you say “Lunch Sampler for 2”? She won’t ever let me order anything else! And she only let’s me have a little sesame chicken and steals all the water chestnuts out of the Chinese vegetables!

Ashley orders pink lemonade and picks at the sesame chicken (wow! Meg didn’t bite Ash’s hand off!). Meg and I get ice cream for dessert (ginger for me and red bean for her).

Ashley has eaten: 4 pieces of sesame chicken, a tablespoon of rice, and a bite of red bean ice cream. Suddenly, I notice Ashley has hidden her face in her hair and is kinda bent over. She tells me her stomach hurts and then goes back into the Silent Zone. I can’t get anything else out of her. And now she’s crying.

I offer her Pepto Bismol (I carry the tablets in the parks) and she refuses. And this is where I come out looking VERY UNCARING. I decide to just ignore her. I pay the bill, we hit the bathroom (which is where Meg notices something’s wrong with Ashley! Get your face out of the sesame chicken sometime, kid!). When Meg and I come out of the bathroom, Ashley is sitting on the bench in the lobby.

We head into the China shop. I love this shop! It goes on forever and has so much stuff! Every trip I swear I’m getting a set of chopsticks with the little rests, but I never do.

And, I just realized, maybe I don’t look so bad, because Ashley buys a bag of CANDY! Wait, ...she starts EATING IT! Yeah, I guess that stomach ache was just horrible!

But at least the Silent Zone is over.

And I get an idea! :thumbsup2

Was she just home sick? Did she had the runs? Did figment make her that ill? LOL I have to know

Tam, you got a TV laugh out of me! :happytv:

No, she was in the bathroom for all of 1 minute. She would only say her stomach hurt really, really bad. I offered help - Pepto is great stuff. She refused. That's where my sympathies end, I'm afraid. You need help; I offer help; you refuse; I stop worrying about it.

Kinda like when she said she'd buy me something - she offered; I said she didn't have to; she insisted; I gave up and handed her the t-shirt I wanted.

Maybe I'm just mean...

u can only offer! you cant force help on people, as displayed by current affairs of the earth lately... :confused3

im glad you updated the report though, feels kind of strange waiting on tender hooks to read about someone elses holiday, but you seem to know everything and im getting lots of tips of things to do in December when i go, so i will continue to wait :smooth:

Can i ask though, about the mystery game you played, do you think they will do it in December, the idea of interactive environment is cool, but did you ever wonder if there would be someone who just messed it up for you, ie. standing in the way of things etc.?

As for when, or if, they start offering the Kim Possible game, I don't know. I hope so, it was a total blast! I was worried about catching up to another team, and then being stuck following them around, seeing them find all the clues, but it never happened. I saw other teams running around, but we never got into a logjam.

And as for you having to wait for my installments, I feel bad about that so I've taken a leave of absense from work so that I can devote myself full-time to chronicling this trip - just for you! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: How about if I just promise to finish in the next 2 weeks? I only have 3 1/2 days left...
