Jaclyn, what a sweet and wonderful thing your parents did for you. This must have made the dinner all the more special that your parents did this from afar.

It really did make dinner that much more special! It was a night I'll never forget.

What an absolutely magical trip! Congratulations on your engagement!!! It was so nice of your parents to surprise you guys with taking care of dinner.

I feel very lucky to have such sweet parents and to have such great in-laws too. Both families are very supportive of Chris and I.

Initially when planning this trip I had made a dinner ADR at Le Cellier for the last night. As we got closer to the trip I realized I couldn’t wait that long for pretzel bread & cheddar cheese soup so I tried to make an lunch Le Cellier ADR for earlier on during the vacation. After weeks of trying a 12:45pm ADR was available for today.

This morning we took it easy and slept in and called our family and friends to let them know of our engagement. We left for Epcot around 11pm.

We checked in and were seated within 5 minutes.

I ordered a bowl of cheddar cheese soup and a coke. I also asked if we could just have pretzel bread and our waitress was happy to fill our request.

Bowl of Cheddar Cheese Soup $6.99

I really enjoyed my cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread. This was the first time I just ordered the soup and the pretzel bread and it was the perfect amount of food for lunch on a hot September day in Florida.

Chris ordered the Grilled Steak Burger with Cheddar Cheese and a sprite.

Grilled Steak Burger $12.49

I really enjoy eating at Le Cellier for lunch. You get the Le Cellier experience without having to wait a long time to be seated.

Great Review of Le Cellier hun! Glad to see that your lunch with Chris worked out better than when you and I went to Le Cellier for lunch

When Jaclyn & I went to lunch at Le Cellier a few years ago we each got a "double order" of cheese soup (this was before the offered a cup and bowl size). We were rudely informed by our server that we would have to pay for our pretzel bread because we weren't ordering entrees We asked to speak to a manager, who said that it was common practice to charge for the bread if there was no entree ordered. After a good 15 minutes of trying to express how ridiculous that sounded (all the while our soup was getting cold) the manager finally relented, rolled her eyes and said she wouldn't charge us for the bread. We found the whole situation so off-putting that we paid (NO TIP!) and left without eating more than one or two bites.

Sorry! Didn't mean to hijack, but I think you knew I'd tell that story

I figured you might! Meg and I like to joke that we share one brain, especially when it comes to Disney.

I was actually worried the same thing would happen again when I ordered just the bowl of soup. Luckily, I had a much better server this time.

At the end of meal our waiter came over to the table and said “And dinner is done.” Chris and I both replied “Yes.” The waiter then followed up with “And paid for.” Chris and I were both so confused we thought the California Grill was possibly covering our bill as a way to say congratulations so we both looked at the waiter stunned and said “thank you?” The waiter than said that my father had called and was paying for our engagement dinner. I was in shock! This was totally unexpected and completely out of the ordinary for my parents. I had told them we were eating at the California Grill tonight when I had called to let them know Chris and I had got engaged. After I had hung up with my parents then spent over an hour on the phone trying to get a hold of the California Grill. I was very emotional after I found out they had paid for our engagement dinner. It was just such a sweet thing for them to do.

Can't wait to eat there on my upcoming trip (2 more days!) I see you ate multiple times at Tokyo Dining. Mind if you share your review with me a little early? I'm debating having dinner there on my upcoming trip but don't know if it's any good. I love sushi and eat it frequently here in T.O.

I'm planning on being a 2011 Disney bride too. We're hoping for March though. Have you planned anything yet? We've been engaged for a year alreay and the time has flown past, I'm scared about how quickly the next year is going to go, because it feels like we haven't planned anything yet at all!!

Aww thank you. My parents are very sweet. Lunch at Le Cellier was excellent. You can’t go wrong with cheddar cheese soup & pretzel bread.

Thank you. I really enjoyed Toyko Dining. It's one of my must do restaurants at Disney. Chris and I tend to pay OOP and just order of the sushi menu. It’s really affordable. They have a really good Spicy Tuna Roll and Sweet Potato Roll. The view of world showcase is also beautiful from Toyko Dining. I would definitely recommend going there. Where do you go in T.O. for sushi? I’m in a desperate need to find a good sushi place. I used to go to a place called New Generation but now it’s starting to going downhill.

Oops. I should have been clearer. Yoshi is the sushi chef at California Grill. Her sushi is amazing. Yoshi is in the Disney Planning Video so every time I see her I feel like I’m meeting a Disney celebrity. And yes she does remind me of the Nintendo character!

Congrats on your engagement! Yay for another 2011 Disney Bride! In all honesty I’ve been secretly dreaming about a Disney wedding for years, all thanks to the wonderful Disbride’s on the wedding forum. I have some preliminary stuff planned. My DF wants to have the ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion (I always thought I’d have the ceremony at Sea Breeze Point), I’d love to have the reception at California Grill, followed by an Illuminations Dessert Party. We’re hoping to have around 20 guests so I’m not sure if it will be cheaper to go with an Escape or the Wishes package. Things will probably change as we get closer. It’s so hard because you can’t really have anything 100% planned until 1 year to 8 months out with Disney. Have you check out Carrie’s (Lurkyloo’s) Disney Weddings and Honeymoons e-book? It’s excellent! It’s helped me so much with my preliminary planning.

I forgot to mention that Yoshi is the sushi chef at California Grill. It would have been neat if it was Yoshi from Nintendo.

The best way for us to get to Boardwalk was to take a bus from CSR to Epcot and then exit through the International Gateway.

We decided to take some photopass pictures because we had some time to kill before dinner. I’m always paranoid I’m going to be late, especially when using Disney Transportation so I always allow myself a lot of extra time to get to anywhere.

We checked in for our 7:15pm ADR. We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated.

I ordered Flying Fish Café’s Signature Potato Wrapped Snapper and a glass of Selbach Oster Spatlese Riesling, Mosel ‘07 $12.00

Potato - Wrapped Red Snapper $ 36.00

I was really impressed with the Red Snapper. It didn’t have a strong fishy taste that some fish have. The potato wrap added a really nice crispy texture to the snapper. I found the red wine sauce a little rich, but other than that it was a great meal.

Chris ordered the Shrimp and Orecchiette Pasta.

"Laughing Bird” Shrimp and Orecchiette Pasta $28.00

Chris loved this!

I was so surprised with how many shrimp were in this dish. I don’t eat shrimp so I had to pick through a lot of shrimp to get to the pasta.

We received a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our recent engagement.

White Chocolate Crème Brulee

I didn’t think I would be able to eat any of the crème brulee because I was so full from dinner, but the second I had a bite I knew I had to finish it. It was the best crème brulee I’ve ever eaten. I was very grateful that Chris isn’t a big dessert eater because I was able to enjoy this dessert all by myself.
